In this Jewel Loom School tutorial, Jewels shows how to weave a bracelet from the Sedona Spring bead kit, using a pattern, on the Original Jewel Loom. Since this kit was created to make a hatband, 3 bracelets or a bracelet & a choker can be made with the kit, depending on the sizes needed. Below the supply list for this project are the links on how to warp the loom (need 14 warps with no grooves skipped) & how to make the leather slide clasp.

all right I'm always I'm hesitant to press anything or do anything until Joan
gives me the the thumbs up uh I've been known to uh yeah I got two
thumbs up I've been known to uh disconnect us and so hey everyone it's Juliana Jules
um the mama of jewel loom and uh so many other designs in the creative world hope
everyone is doing really well today it's it's gloomy and doomy and all the words
here in SoCal um you know when you when you live by the water line uh you just
it's awesome but it's also can just be like Doom and Gloom sometimes usually
they say June is that way but it's kind of been that way for a while now so I'm
all snuggled up uh in my sweatshirt and I'm seeing everybody check in here hi
Robin and Maria Eliana Melanie from Canada
scrap Jenny awesome very cool and of course our very
own Joan is in the background making all the magic happen with links and everything so listen
um the Sedona spring hat band that
um we introduced last week I swear it feels like a year ago
is almost sold through I think there's maybe 10 kits left and so if you want to
get your bead kit I would get in on it for those of you that already ordered
everything is arriving today I mean it is insane so thank God like literally
thank you Jesus um the boxes from the Czech Republic showed up today
can we get do we have sound hey oh my gosh I have been just like a
nervous wreck this is my first time to the rodeo when it comes to ordering
ordering directly from the factory overseas and I had
um I had left a lot of the my stuff to be shipped back and uh and and so maybe
some of you know that it left check it hit Germany the boxes did and then there
was an operational delay and so basically that meant they had to
find um a new plane for all the boxes and what have you and then it's really kind of funny because then they go like
silent it just like goes silent it's like you know and you know and you know
and then you don't know and then you just pray
it's all working out and so um I think I got the notice like late last night that it was going to be
here today and I was like thank you and then when the doorbell I like wanted to hug the FedEx man
and he was he was but um I let him get away and uh yeah so so
those boxes are part of the April May subscription boxes that a lot of you
have just shown so much grace and kindness you're waiting um and I know you're going to be so
happy where we're already divving it all up and Mom and I are doing the best that we can
we're just going to be working on it non-stop this weekend to get those boxes out of here
and with that said so the uh kits for this particular bead pattern pattern are
going to be here the gemstones are arriving today my beanalon order is
arriving today it's like non Non-Stop it's just non-stop deliveries and so
super excited so that we can get everything together and out for you and again thank you from the bottom of my
heart for being so incredibly patient and kind and generous with
um investing into me and my company and all of us here at jewel loom are just so
grateful so grateful to you very very much it's like Christmas at jules's house yes and and
Brando is sniffing everything I want to get away from it
I could just see that little Humper um
so anyway okay um I got a couple messages people wanted
to know hey can you use the Sedona spring hat Ben kit uh in a bracelet and the
question is and the answer is yes um absolutely and so we actually if you
look at the pattern let me just I'll fold it over here so we
can just focus on this we've actually got it in here that here's what you would do for the hat band and here's
what you would do for the bracelet so um six inches would be like for a small
seven inches for a medium eight inches for a large and and so what I've done
obviously I'm not going to do a small bracelet on the large wisdom Warrior
although you could okay again a couple of Kelly and Amber they love using the
large wisdom Warrior as a production Loom and so if you wanted to do multiple bracelets
then you could um I would say that if you do have a
larger wrist size um perhaps it might be like say nine
plus you might want to consider actually using the large wisdom Warrior because
your base on your jewel loom it's going to be tight
um doable because you do have correct me if I'm wrong but I think it's like 10 inches 10 inches and
but the thing is it just depends on how you choose to end it if you're going to
use the technique that we've been doing with our hat bands where you take the faux leather that's coming in your kit
and you you know you you cover the ends with it
it's going to be iffy on that nine inch bracelet right but you can you can lay it out you could do some math I am going
to do that and I added five rows of just and 11-0 that's not a part of my kit
it's just a leftover bead that I have and so I'm going to have five rows up here I'm going to do six inches of the
pattern and then another five and you can see I'm gonna have enough material up here my warps to play with
so you're just gonna have to do some measuring some math again my thought is that if you have a
nine inch wrist you might want to just let be careful lay it out make sure that
you're gonna have enough room on the um on the jewel loom plenty of room on the
large Sun Weaver if you have the large Sun Weaver in your assortment of looms
obviously with the large wisdom Warrior you're going to be fine and um
yep so I think that covers covers length all right so if you're going to do a
slide connector easy peasy pumpkin squeezy you're just going to do one extra row of seed beads
and then you'll be fine up to a nine inch on the jewel loom okay so hopefully
that made sense if you need clarification you know you can ask but hopefully that came over
okay so um let's see what do we got going on here I've got my pattern this is going
to come with your kit many of you after you bought the pattern you were doing exactly so funny people either read the
directions on what to do next or they don't and everyone that bought the Sedona kit
you were so delightful you're like I'm emailing you like you said and I did say that
um but the kids aren't here yet and so usually I like to do that simultaneously so that things just don't get
um lost and you know so anyway thank you and uh as those kids are going out I'll
definitely be adding you to that pattern so I think that's about it um let's talk
about Joan do you want to put my overhead on so I don't screw up anything
okay cool so I am using the original jewel loom and I
went ahead and warped it because you know there's plenty of how-to on how to
warp now just like with the large wisdom Warrior I didn't skip let me get a
little closer here and let me hold steady I didn't skip any grooves all right so
we've just got wildfire in every single Groove and we did 14 warps
because we have 13 yep we just gotta hold still here we
got some interesting connection so we have 14 beads going over across now
listen one of the things you could do like if you have a comb like a baby's comb where the teeth are really close
you could put that into the warps up here to help stretch them out so that
when you're trying to do that first row and I don't have a comb how do I not
have a comb I have a hair pick I have a hair pick but I couldn't find a
comb I will find one I'll hit up the dollar store and find something um the Combs that come with some of our
looms are kind of wide so I don't really know that that's going to work maybe Robert can make us something that'll work I don't know but anyway
um it always helps if you can kind of stretch these guys apart when you're doing your 11 0's and then that first
row will pop in a lot a lot easier okay so I have five rows of an 11-0 bead that
is not in the kit it's not in the kit because the I'm just doing this because I want to in the end
do the um faux leather technique the faux leather closing closer close your
Technique find your words girl okay so uh Green wildfire is what I chose to
work with the 0.06 let me bring that into the camera really quick so we're upside down
yep so that's the 0.006 it's green it's uh the beetle on wildfire
it is my choice um to use that um I've been using it forever it's it's definitely what I
prefer I do think that Joan is asking questions about other products and
um and you can certainly do that as well so okay
and all right so I'm gonna lay down the jewel loom
and you know I I don't know um whose first name that is but I see can I buy the just the directions
um I've we've never done that before and I'm not too sure exactly how we would uh
monetize that how we would how we would price that I don't know that monetize was the right word
um so in this moment I would have to say no just because I we haven't done that
before um this was actually sold as a course for the creative Soul box
and now the kit is being made available and so
um the course was uh originally 45 and that included the kit
so anyway okay I'm gonna start the pattern just like I did last week on the
large wisdom Warrior and let me back up here so in this hand this is my left
hand I have the needle and thread and I'm going to pass it under all of
the warps over to my right hand okay and I'm just gonna get everything
dialed in here and I've got my pattern I'm just going to kind of scooch that in
so you can see it really quick this is over on my left side
and I'm going to start with the first row and so I have my beads on the jewel
loom bead board let me just scooch that in really quick so you can see how I laid it out
so I have it laid out in the alphabetical
um uh according to the pattern so like a is the Shamrock mauve cobbler pumpkin and
then the ice so it makes it easier for me when I'm reading the pattern to have all of this
dialed in all right I'm going to pull up my sleeves here since it's I'm all bundled
up like a snow bunny and the first color is a I do need to get some light on the
and the moth and then three A's
and so basically um you know I wanted to come on today and help those folks that were curious
as to whether or not these patterns could be broken down into a bracelet
obviously as you can see they can be um you could certainly even take a chunk of it and make earrings or a pendant
so they definitely can be broken up into whatever little jewelry piece you have
in mind and cobbler again
and another Shamrock okay so yep looks good
nope seem to be caught on something I'm using pretty long piece I have like two yards of wildfire that I'm working with
let me get this into the screen here let's go to this over a little
and let me bring a little bit more light oh boy that is bright
and so we're just they're they're hanging underneath the jewel loom warps right now and what we're going to do is
we're going to pop them up and in between all of the little warps there all of the little
Alleyways as I refer to them and then I'm going to take the needle let me come up to the camera really quick
so you see how I let them rest on my pointer finger and I really make sure that they're um
in between all of the little warps
and then I'm going to take my needle and I'm coming back through the beads
and you could see how the needle is gliding on top of the warps which is super important
and all the way through and then all the way out now if I happen
to have not gone on top of the warps
the beads will fall and so far so good let's
let's make sure awesome yay
okay so that's my first uh row on the pattern
and I'm just gonna for those of you you know I should never assume anything so let me just back up a couple of steps
here when I'm referring to the warps your warps are what go from the top of
your loom all the way to the bottom all right and with the jewel loom when you're warping
you're going around the back buttons which are part of my patent
okay and you don't have all of this excess and again I know that we have
um a tutorial that's just on warping and so
that way you can go see that and focus on learning how to do that but your warps are from they're straight up and
down from the top to the bottom of your loom and then when I'm doing this
process they're called your wefts but a lot of times too it's your your weaving right so you're going from left to right
so I'm back under all of the warps and I'm gonna go down to my second row
and we just want to get this long piece of material here thread organized okay
so I'm going to pick up hey Trisha I love your bracelet you made
today super pretty okay so I got two chamois
I got a cob and I got them off
and um let's see two shamrocks
a cob and a mauve and then another chamois
and this gorgeous pumpkin that I just can't get enough of
and the ice which is absolutely Gorge
and another pumpkin another Shamrock
and another mauve and another cob
and then two Shams so you kind of um after you do a few rows what's really
cool is that it usually starts to resonate in your brain um you know what letter equals what
color which is really super helpful yes Trisha did
um Trisha did the tutorial for the creative soul group for this hat band and in that
kit for the actual course there were some um really fun flower resin beads
and uh Trisha created an embellishment
that was separate from the loom that would go onto the hat and it's really
stinking cool but that's part of being a member in the creative soul group so
there's a lot of little things that those folks get um just for themselves okay so we're gonna
go back under going back under you can see my hand back under the warps
and then I'm gonna go down to the third row and I'm going to pick up
and whoopsie and we got a cobbler and we got a moth
and the delicious pumpkin I love these bead boards
another pumpkin another ma
another cob and three Chamois one
two three okay and then I do like to just make sure how
come it seems a little short does it let's see three six
nine ten eleven twelve thirteen okay
and we're just gonna let them fall and then we're gonna pop them up and in
and then again let me just come up to see how the pattern is coming together isn't that awesome let me come down a
hair okay and then I'll just do some in the air looming
once again taking the needle and I'm gliding through the beads I can
see the shiny part of the needle which is a good sign it should mean that I am on top of the
warps and then I'm just going to pull all the way through
yes awesome okay and then again we're going to come under and now I am on
let's see I'm on the fourth row okay so we're gonna have let's see if I could
get this to come down anymore oh whoa
let's see here and I'll just come
that's a little better nice okay so I'm gonna go to let's see is it the fourth
row fourth row so we'll have
two chamois and I'm a scooper so I like to put the
needle in the hole of the bead and then scoop so what did I say O2 and then we're
going to have two pumpkins one
two and then C is the cob
and D is a pumpkin and a is the Sham
and C is the cob into more
and then two more chamois the thing about bead patterns is that I
had forgotten honestly how empowering they were and it really was
um Kelly Dell from off the beaded path who really awakened my seed bead
person inside of me um and so ever since then I have
really been having fun working with different designers such as Trisha and um in fact
Trisha did a pattern for me that you actually get for free when you sign up for the jewel
loom newsletter and it's really special and so if you're not signed up for the
newsletter you should because you get that free pattern and um and it's delish and then I have a
friend uh Brandy that I grew up with who has been doing the Hat bands because she
does a lot of professional hat bands and so she's been
she has made a couple for us the high desert and then this one okay so fifth row now
fifth row is going to be one
one shammy and um a pumpkin yes Kelly is amazing she
has been very gracious with the large wisdom Warrior I am forever grateful
sure she's been sharing that love and and that is beyond amazing
a lot of gratitude and a pumpkin
you're probably wondering does she sit here and talk to herself like that when we're not around no I don't
at least I don't think I do cobbler and a pumpkin
it's just cool when you start to see the pattern come together and
um it's just neat it's like doing art right it's it's like you have this moment of
like oh my gosh I created that it's really cool
so again just really want to make sure that
the needle is on top of the warps
and going through all the beads let me just make sure
okay and we'll do a couple more rows here so
go down to the next one and I love how everything starts to
switch up right so like now um the mauve is leading and it's pretty
fascinating to me to to see how patterns come come together
um Brandi has been making patterns for a really really really long time
and um I I love I love when any artist
um Trisha Brandy Amber um you know anyone anyone could take a
color combination and and I know there are some pretty great tools out there for help but it's it's neat to see it
come together so two pumpkins a chamois
a cob uh what is D D's a pumpkin
D is a pumpkin and C for cobbler
and ending off with a mauve okay with those slide
it is Art Maria come on you are like the seed bead you're you definitely have the
uh title the queen you're you're uh I love waking up to to
the jewel loom Group by the way we have a a jewel loom uh jewelry making with jewel loom
Facebook group and lo and behold if I don't wake up pretty much every morning
to a Maria uh seed bead combination
and it's always so very inspiring and I love how you ask everybody what's on
their Loom Maria that really touches my heart it's it's very kind of you to
um to ask everybody of that you're like you're like the little you're the official Ambassador in there
so I love it thank you so let me bring this up because look at how pretty this is already so again for
those of you just joining this five rows right here actually will end up being
covered um if you're going to do this technique right where you take the faux leather
and you sandwich it over there so you're not even going to end up seeing those five rows
ah she asks because she really wants to know I love that and I believe that
you're you're your heart is absolutely um genuine I have no doubt
okay so um okay I'm somehow I'm getting all tangled
up here I've got so much Wildfire all right so
what let's see what were we at this is the next one right because that was a mauve so let's do another one
and we'll just come over here to
okay so whoops no that's not first see I just got sidetracked
so Chamois first and we got a chamois that came over into the mauve
and then we're going to pick that up and then we got two shams
and we got a cob and we've got a pumpkin
and and ice and we got another pumpkin
okay and then we got another mauve
and another Shamrock okay well again let that fall
bring that down so you can see
oh very cool Cindy let us know how we can help you
okay and then we're just going to take the needle
and we're going back through I'm trying to remember oh what did I win
last week remember I had to leave and go play bunco I I love playing games
um I won oh I had most wins I had 18 wins so I think I got like 25 bucks
oh my God so much fun okay so now we're on to this row and
we're gonna go back to a mom and two Shamrocks does anybody play
bunco or bingo it's so funny I just
um there's I love card games as well I don't know if anybody plays any card games
so I'm just picking them up you kind of you gain some speed
um when you get your Rhythm down and when you you know can follow the letters
um you know I'm trying to talk and focus and it's it's a little
that's a lot okay and then we've got a mauve okay
okay so cool to see how this comes together rather quickly
now I am using the the long three inch jewel loom needle my hands just will not
work with the short needles like it's just um not gonna happen and and so I I just
prefer the jewel loom needle I love the length of it and it just really works well in my hand
um obviously you can you know you can use whatever needle is comfortable for you as well let's take another sneak
peek really fun this would be really cool for
the summer time with um you know your summer whites your little white Blazer
or even on black it would really pop on black okay let's see oh Spades and
something solitaire oh very cool what is Tonk solitaire
the great I'll have to look that up I don't know what that is
we were playing a game before Brandy moved to Prescott um Arizona
uh we would get together and play a game called um was it the eight crowns or the Five
okay so did I do that right two shammies a cobbler a mauve and two more shammies
okay and then a pumpkin and two more shams
and another moth and a cob
oops I love this part I love when you get to
the part where like you know that design is starting to pop
gotta really make sure that you know you could see your needle gliding on top of the warps because
yeah swoop whoo okay so is there let me see something
okay this will be the last row okay so let me finish this one
and a moth and oh holy cow one two three four five
just make sure that's right so three seven yeah okay so seven and then a mom
and this will be oh my goodness so adorable
so these would make adorable little earrings so I'll bring this up to the camera give
me one second here just want to make sure
the needle was through all the all the beads and on top of the warps okay cool
all right so let me bring this up isn't that adorable so if you wanted to just do a cute little pair of earrings
what you would do is you would only do one random row of seed beads it doesn't
matter what color it is right because if you're going to use a slide connector you're never going to see it so there's
one row before the pattern starts and then a row after the pattern and so that
would make a really cute little pair of earrings for the summer time you could also do like a little pendant
maybe do two of those that would be kind of like a cute little necktie pendant and then of course what we're working
towards is a bracelet so I'm going to come back up
so that you don't fall asleep [Laughter]
Joan if you want to bring me back I'm gonna grab um
well I'm gonna grab the big girl
so last week we were working on this is the large wisdom Warrior and so you know
you can see we did the same little patch on the warrior and I just kind of wanted to
you know I want to get a tape measure hold on really quick because I want to see for Giggles
um how that would work out for a larger bracelet
oh my goodness when I tell you there is stuff everywhere there is stuff everywhere
there's so many boxes okay so let's see
so if we were going to do a nine inch wrist I'm just seeing for giggles
well you could almost do two on the large wisdom Warrior at one time but let me let me do this on the on over here
so nine yeah it it's okay so on the
jewel loom on the jewel loom if you have a nine inch wrist
I'm just trying to get this so it makes sense because here's the nine inches right
and then you need to do some rows for you know for the closure so I think
it'll work I think a nine inch um a nine inch bracelet with the faux
leather I got something in my tush okay uh
so if you wanted to do the closure like we do on the uh on the hat bands
I think you'll be fine so you'll just want to really start up at the top of
the jewel loom up here for your five or four rows and then do your nine inches of beads of your pattern and then and
then five more rows down here so you'll probably be okay it's going to be tight it's going to be tight so if you have a
larger uh if you have the large wisdom Warrior or you have the large Sun Weaver
you know what I'm saying you might wanna you might want to do that so but I just love her I just absolutely love her and
by the way Kelly did a couple a couple videos with the large wisdom Warrior and
um she offers a discount code and so you might want to go find that
for the large wisdom Warrior well that lasts while that lasts
okay so Joan how are we doing on all the questions
are we good let me see through here how's it going uh not not a guarantee not a for sure
but there might be some extra check boxes
if you're interested text me and just say check box so the word check c c z e c h right
check check box and then if we do have any extras I'll let you know
um not for sure might have a couple so um and
I think Jones got everybody covered in here
yeah Robin I'm totally I'm totally down with the uh
Bingo is a lot of fun too I have a group of women that I play bingo with and we bring um we bring gifts so and then you could
you know you could win several times in a night and still go home with nothing that part I don't like
I want a gift I want to bring something home I win and then I lose it because it's always a good gift somebody takes
it so I hope that that helps you just kind of um not be you know wary of of
seed beading and to know that usually patterns have a lot of flexibility to be
um whatever they need to be right so whether it's a hat band
um whether it's a bracelet downsize it into earrings or a pendant
and so yeah they work really well but again there are some of the Sedona spring kits
are still available and so those are in the shop and hopefully when I get off of here there will be more boxes at the
front door for me to unpack and we're going to get all of that together and
hopefully get that get some stuff out on Saturday um but Monday for sure because I we
gotta make room there's just so much stuff so anyway I so appreciate you and next
week I think I think what I'm going to try to do is [Music] um get this bracelet done that's going to
be the easiest thing for me to commit to just being honest
um and I really do need to get the Hat the hat band done though as well but I
think committing to getting the bracelet done because it'll be nice to like take it off and then do the ends so that'll
be my goal I'm not gonna like promise everything on it but it is my
goal I think I can achieve that and uh we'll just go from there and if I pop in
on a live hey Donna oh my God what did you just show that I was drooling over
Donna was ju you were just showed something on on the Facebook and it was
a product I don't even know but it was pretty
so thanks Zach uh love you too Robin yeah
got some really great things planned for the creative soul group the June project is oh my God it's pretty amazing I think
I already mentioned that I got um got a hold of some diamond shaped
double hole double hole gemstones unreal unreal Donna says oh there were
Lana keychains I love llamas I'm a llama girl I love llamas
so stinking cool so very fun misting the Czech Republic
absolutely loved my trip over there and I can't believe I was there and back
home I just went uh every day was really it seems really long and then you get
back home and you're like oh my God like I was there and I'm back like it's life is moving way too fast way too fast
so Donna it was great to see you I miss you and Jen so gotta make it out to
Tennessee I heard of a new spot simor Seymour
Tennessee Joan does that make sense you want to come on she's going to come on and correct me
Seymour see more yeah it's actually
um Seymour is right down the road from me I go there a lot
s-e-y-m-o-r yeah it's only a few minutes down the road from my house oh
well s-e-y-m-o-u-r and Daniel is a Kentucky not Tennessee
oh I'm gonna know but I meant you know why I said that you know why I said that oh
I see yeah because you know because of JTV because I feel like everybody I know
from JTV lives in Tennessee but take note
they don't and I don't even yeah I'm not even comprehending I'm just like what do
you mean they live somewhere else they live in Tennessee on the TV [Laughter]
oh my gosh I miss you getting back into jewelry and accessories closing out the
clothes wow that's interesting so you know what I love about everybody and
um uh you know ice you're gonna hear me say this again so obviously somebody wants
me to like spread this word multiple streams of income
right MSI um and Donna and her daughter Jen you know
they you had a place then the place grew you add clothes you were really feeding
a need and that was really doing well and now you're shifting you're shifting
gears and I love that because you just that is that is business you have to know when to Pivot and it's okay but you
should always have multiple streams of income m
[Laughter] we'll just call it MSI multiple streams of income so yes hey Cindy
um but congratulations I mean if that if that's a good thing then yeah and we do
we all need to meet up in Tennessee it seems to be the the spot right sister good I I'm on to something
all right you guys um and gals thank you thank you thank
you as always for tuning in I hope seed beads inspired you I mean they're the
