    Transcript:

Have you ever thought like when you get ready in the morning and you like adorn yourself with all
your jewelry and you put your bracelet on and then you get to work
or you go to your laptop cuz you're, you know, an entrepreneur, whatever it is,
right? and you go to start typing on your laptop, on your keyboard, and
you've got this gorgeous bracelet on, and you're like, "Darn it, I got to take it off cuz it's like in the way." Well,
I think I have. I think I have solved that problem. And check it out. So, one
day I found myself at the dollar store, also known as the
$1.25 store now, and I saw this incredible
Chanel. And I was like, you have to be kidding me. Like, that whole SCE is only 125.
And so I picked some up and I ended up making this amazing, gorgeous, super
easy, fast and fun bracelet on the original jewel loom. Can you even I mean
it is I'm not exactly sure. This is 65 yards
and even I don't know. I might have used two like even if it's five yards, what's five
divided by 65? Like it's a lot of bracelets. Okay, let's just put it that way. For $1.25, so you need a sce of of
the Chanel from the store. You need your original jewel loom. You could you can
weave by your hand or use a blunt needle. So, if you have any of the other wood looms, you could use one of the
needles from there. And then I chose to use one of our wood buttons. You could
certainly do the same thing where you find a button
for whatever maybe in your stash. The only thing is you're going to want to make sure that the holes are big enough
so that the um Chanel can go through the holes. So that's the only thing. Other
than that, we're talking in the bag in the bag, right? Like so easy peasy
little pair of scissors. I mean, this is your summer goto project. This is your
travel project. And these just whip up really super quick. And I'm going to
show you how to make them. So, I'm going to take you down to the table and we're going to get to it. Um, I see everybody
coming in. Hello. Hello. Thank you for being here. All right. So, um, I got to
go and we're going to go down and I got new ways of of doing this. So,
this is very exciting. Um, push that away. And let's Here's the Jewel Loom.
Awesome. Awesome. And let me close this window so that I can see exactly what is happening. Um,
nice. So, we've got the Jewel Loom. Easy peasy, right? flexible plastic knot
bendable. We're gonna take the rod. We're going to put that into the bottom hole that is closest where's my finger
closest to my body. And then I'm going to take the uh top of the rod and I'm
going to snap that into that top hole. Right. And then I like to give it a little wiggle wiggle with the metal rod
just to make sure that the metal rod is nice and secure and inserted into the
jewel loom. So then what I'm going to do is I'm going to turn this over and I
precut um it's about a yard and a half of the Chanel. And then I'm just going to tie
it to the back button. And it's a little slippery.
So FYI, it's a little little slippery. And then what we're going to do is I'm
going to pull that. I don't know. I think I need to give that another knot because again it's it's it's like a slippery type of
material. And hi Patricia. And then Okay, so let
me get Let's There we go. You know what it is? I got to scooch myself over. Got to get in front of my um my pretend
podcast microphone here. Okay, so this is the back of the loom right now. And these are my hands. And I've got the
Chanel. And I'm going to lay that on top of the grid. Flip the loom over. And
then I'm going to bring that down towards me. And I'm just letting it rest because the Chanel is definitely much
thicker than the grooves on the jewel loom. Where we at? There we are. Okay.
So, it's just going to lay on the grooves. It's not going to fit into the groove. And then we're going to flip it
around. Go around that back button. And we're just gonna we're just gonna
eyeball it. And it's going to be like maybe three grooves. I don't want you to really like get into counting it. It's
kind of like just leave a little peekaboo area. And then we're going to do that again.
Come back up. And I'm going to do four
    four warps. Whoopsie.
Okay. So, this is our fourth one. And you can see how nice that just glides.
Oh, and I'm It doesn't really matter, but I am a little
Come on, buddy. There we go. I was over a little much, but not the end of the world. Okay. So, then I'm going to let
that lay down again. Flip it over. And it's quite thick over here. So, I'm
going to tuck. Yeah. I'm I just like I pulled just enough to where that Chanel
like tucked itself underneath that button. It's always a great day in a
beater's life when that happens, right? Makes it so much easier to tie a little
knot here. So, I just want to make sure. Yep. And
I wouldn't say this is the weakest yarn in the world. I would also say it's
not the strongest. So, what I mean by that is don't pull too hard because I I
feel like it would rip apart. Okay. Um, I'm going to get rid of this tail. I
just don't want it in my way. Now, I did choose to leave my rod in.
Um, could you take the rod out? I don't think it's a deal breaker to take it out, but honestly, the Chanel is kind of
stretching a little bit. So, I'm going to leave the rod in just to keep just to
keep it um at a nice warp. Which, by the way, let's just revisit the distance
between the belly of the jewel loom. This is her little belly and this is the top of the warps. And we never want that
to be more than 2 in. Okay? Because if you warp it too
tight, then you're putting stress on your jewel loom. So again, the distance between the belly of the jewel loom and
the top warps here should never be more than two inches. So I'm gonna go ahead
and bring over I think um what did I cut? I think I cut like two yards or something like that off of the um the
spool. I'm just trying to figure out where that shadow is coming from. I
don't know. It's probably bothering me more than it's bothering you. And I'm going to um just go ahead and
attach that. Now my wrist is 6 in.
And so usually for me that starts right underneath the hole right there. Okay.
So we're going to do that. And then I'm going to bring all of the chenille over to the left side. And again, you could
just use your hands, but I happen to have a plethora of needles. So, I'm going to come under, over,
under. Whoops. I got a lot going on on this table.
Okay. So, there are some things there are there there's one tip in particular
when you're using the yarn. So, let's go back the other way now. Right. So, under, over, under.
And you're definitely going to have a wiggle wiggle butt with the Jewel Loom because between it being lightweight and
this material being lightweight, it does want to kind of go everywhere. So, do
you see how this is starting to look a little bit like a weave? All right. So, let's
do the third one. and really pay attention to
how I'm holding the loom, pulling the chenille.
And what I'm also trying to do is not, and this is a whole kind of like
practice thing, you want to pull tight enough, but not too tight that the warps
start getting all pulled in and then you don't have like a really nice even
finish. So, let's do a couple more so that you can kind of see this come together.
Okay. So, see how I'm I'm pulling enough, but I'm not pulling too tight.
And see how that is starting to look more and more like a weave.
Okay, cool. So, we'll just keep doing this.
And you know, you can put double-sided painters or painters tape on the bottom of your jewel loom if it annoys you and
it's moving. You could work on a non-skid surface.
I just am used to dancing with it. So, you know, I don't really worry about it
too much. See how that's Oh, yeah. Now you can really see see how the weave is coming together. And see how I'm I'm
really focused on keeping, you know, tension on each side equal so that it
doesn't um it doesn't get all funky. And and look, you know, you're not going to
you're not going to weaving gel if you do pull too tight.
But um but if you want it to be unformed, you know, this is what you have to keep doing, right? You just keep
weaving. You you watch carefully. You pull and then you bring it home. Okay.
And then you kind of do a little spread and you're touching and you're watching and you're scooching.
And it does look good when Whoops. My goodness. You'd think I was working in a tiny
space. I kind of am. So, I've got my whatnot live after immediately after
this show. And there are like 50 products that are sitting on top of me
right now because I gave myself like 15 minutes to get ready. And so it's kind
of funny. Let's bring that up. Look it. Ooh, look at how pretty that is. Oh my
gosh, it's so 1970s. Is that awesome? But can you can you see
how my rhythm and how I'm the way that I'm pulling from left to
right, how it's really keeping nice form, right? Like you really have a nice consistent weave. And um all you have to
do is just pay, you know, pay attention to how you're pulling. Don't pull too
tight. You know, come back, stretch it out a little bit, push it up. And if you
have one of the combs um that came with one of your looms, you could certainly like the pocket moon um the little
pocket moon loom uh comb would work nicely. You don't have to, but you can.
So yeah, so you would just continue. Um what I found is that, you know, this is
another less than an hour uh to make. And so I was thinking, "Wow, what what a
great party idea." Like if you got the girls together, a fundraising idea, you
could get Chanel in the color that represents like your local school or whatever fundraiser you might be um
trying to raise funds for. And there was a lot of colors. I I got three different
colors. A gorgeous teal, like the one I'm wearing, like a light teal. I've got
a a jewel in blue as I call it. I have this coral.
So, there were quite a few colors. Um, Patricia, you know, I feel like we
used to have some needles separate. Um, look under supplies and look under
um look under uh wood needles. So, click
supplies on the homepage and and then needles. And I don't know
if Joan can see that or not, but let's bring this up so you can see
how we're doing. So, see how I'm able to keep the uniformed,
you know, consistency so that my,
you know, so that my bracelet has uniformity. Again, listen, you know what? With this type of a material,
if you want to go funky and you want it to have little pinches here and there, you could you could do that. It's not
the end of the world and nobody's going to no one's going to say anything. But if you want to keep it nice and
uniformed, then you know just again watch how I'm doing it. How I pull
carefully and then scooch up and you can Oh, it's just so yummy. So yummy.
And again, we're talking Did anybody do what is um I don't even think it takes the full
five yards, but this is 65 yards divided by five. What did I say? So 10 is that is that 11 or is that 12? bracelets.
I mean, that's crazy. Like, if you were doing a fundraiser and
you were able to make 11 of these for, say, $1.25 and then, okay, so is that 12
bracelets and then 12 buttons that you find at the thrift store and then you do a fundraiser and I don't know, maybe
people will give you 10 bucks. So, you make a quick 120 bucks. That's a that's
some food for an organization. I don't know. I'm just thinking out loud, but I think that would be kind of cool. All
right, so let's take a look again. Hey, I'm doing pretty good.
I'm doing pretty good for talking and weaving and not pulling too tight. Um,
if you're wondering, hey Jules, what if I wanted to mix it up and put like some beads in here? You could. You could. So
like this, these little alleyways would probably accommodate like a 5 mm,
probably like a 4 mm to a 5 mm round. So if you wanted to stop and like you you
would just put that to the side and then you could you could tie off right here and then you could come in and sew in
some beads. But that does add more time and more money. And really I wanted to
give you an idea for something that was super quick and easy. I'm calling this my octopus, by the way, cuz it just with
the shell um button and all the all the little legs, I was like, "Oh, it's my
octopus bracelet." That's so so stinking comfy.
So, let's just do a couple of more and then I definitely want to take the one that I have off of the loom and show you
how easy it is to finish. So, we're just pulling through. And
again, I'm just scooching and and this is really nice and tight. So, I have
managed to keep my warps really uniformed and um as I have been
scooching up, you've seen that I've been able to keep it really nice and padded.
It's really amazing. Okay, so yeah, so there we have that step. And
I'm going to go ahead and push this over to the side. And I'm going to bring in
voila. The magic. Look it. Oh my gosh. So gorgeous.
So so gorgeous. So did I do I think I got a little
Well, yeah. I'm going to tell on myself. And it doesn't matter, but you could tell like a hair
like this was just a hair chunkier. And then I got it started to get a little
bit a little bit tighter, but nobody's ever going to see that. Just you and I. So, yeah. So, this is finished on the
loom. And now I can go ahead and cut it off. And by the way, when I'm done, all I did was was just tie a knot right
there. And lots of times I won't cut these tails until I know that they're not a part of my design because they
just really kind of lend themselves to some fun things. And if you found the appropriate bead, you could string some
beads onto these ends and add a whole other design element. Again, I'm trying
to keep it like easy peasy for you. So, let's go ahead and I'm going to um very
carefully just cut the back here. Okay.
And we'll put the jewel loom to the side. And it's very much like when we um
when we do our other bracelets. Want to come over here and well I want to make
sure I know which end is going where cuz I need a loop.
Oh, I got lots of legs. Oh, this came out so nice, you guys. So
nice. It's so soft. So soft. Okay. So, um, what I'm thinking
is gonna happen I just hope I can get
try to do this. I don't think I'm going to get more than maybe one. I'm going to use my
I am going to use something. Let me see if my needle is more of a help
pushing this in to that hole.
    Yeah. Okay. And so,
yeah. So, see, this is the thing with the buttons and the chenille. Like, you really want to make sure that you find
um a button with bigger holes. Like, an everyday button off of your clothes is not going to work.
So, I've just got like these two. Oh, that looks so pretty with the butterfly button, doesn't it?
So, let's just give this a little a little tie.
And it is close to close to the button. Definitely sitting
on top of of the um
on top of the bracelet. And then I'm just going to leave those guys. And I'm going to come over here and check these
two guys out. I feel like these two probably need to be tied together. Just a little knot.
And again, I'm gonna just see how I like all of these loose.
Okay, this guy doesn't really have somebody to tie onto. So, I'm going to like tie into itself.
Okay. So, I just made like a little knot right there. And that's going to work. That's That's good stuff. Okay. Cool
beans. So, we kind of have like a a free flowing look going on. And you can change that
if that doesn't work for you. If you want to trim, if you want to string some beads on and take it the extra step, you
can totally do that. All right, so that's one end. And then we're going to come over to the
opposite end. And we've got the four warps. And this was our original um
piece that we started with. So that'll just come over here. And then I'm going to cut that. So, I'm
just cutting the loops. And then
I hear Frenchie snoring going on outside. He doesn't like it when I lock him out.
And then we're going to tie this one. Okay. And then what we have to do here
is we're we're making a loop, right? We need to make an entryway for our button.
So, I like to eyeball it. Okay. And what I'll do is
this stuff is really, really slippery. So, you've probably seen me do this step
a few different ways. Um, I'm going to see, let me see. I'm going
to come over here and I'm going to do this. And I'm going to do that.
And this is like gift wrapping. Gift wrapping at midnight when you have to you wish you had somebody to hold the
the ribbon while you made a bow. So, I'm just trying to make like a a knot.
And this stuff is so slippery. Okay, let's see. Do I got it? I don't want to go too too tight. I do think that's the
size I need. So, before I go any further, I'm gonna put it on my wrist
and let's see if I did good. Oh, I did good.
Yeah. Okay. So, just like that. Oh my
gosh. And again, like, you know, you can either decide to I love all of the um
I love all of the loose stuff. I think it's just fun. Like maybe Maybe with a butterfly I would put like
I might I might put like a little white glue and then I would trim the ends just so that the butterfly doesn't get lost.
So I might do that. But all these other long dangly dupes, they just they make
me feel so stevie. But look at how soft and how pretty. And
really this is definitely under an hour. Definitely under an hour. So, you know,
if you're getting together with the girls or you're doing a fundraiser or you want to make like um something for
your booth that draws attention, this is it. You know what? I'm going to come up
to um I'm going to come back up and see if we have any questions.
All right, look at this. How How much fun are these?
And all for a dollar and a quarter. Isn't that nuts?
The Dollar Tree store is amazing. Like their craft section cracks me up because there's like a lot of stuff. Mine didn't
have or I could not find buttons at mine, but um but you could certainly
look at yours or maybe even like a five below, you know. And again, I'm just trying to keep it keep this project
economically like doable for everyone so that if you just want to grab some
materials, great, you know, teenage project, the te the kids would love
this. I know that they would. They would totally dig making this cuz it's simple and it's very raw. Um, you know, and I
remember where in during the summer time we wouldn't even do buttons. We would just tie something onto our wrist and
then it would be like there all summer long. I don't know that you can swim or
shower with this Chanel cuz I don't think that's going to work. But um but I
do think that this would be a great younger, you know, teenage party. So Joan was saying that if you did the
whole entire width of the jewel loom, you would have wrist
like like what are they called? Wristbands, I guess, like when you play basketball. Is that what she was thinking?
I just thought that was so funny. But not for nothing, she has a great point there. Wrist warmers. Yes, wrist
warmers. Because what about if you made Oh my gosh, you could make one of these on your large wisdom warrior. And I
don't know, do you have like a cool hat headband, too? Like that would be really
fun. Or it could become the handle to a really cool purse. I mean, there's just so many fun things that you can do. And
I love a good deal. You know, mama loves a good deal. And let me show you the other two colors.
So, there's this gorgeous jewel blue that I bought. Look how pretty. Look how
pretty. Ooh la la. And um this was the
teal kind of like that I I made for my this wrist right here that I'm wearing.
And then I had also bought pony beads. Okay. And I bought and again 125. So,
like I said, if you wanted to put some ponies on, and these are plastic. If you
wanted to to scooch those into these long dangly dupes, right, you could do that. Use
your um Liberty essential glue gun and um put those on there. That would be
super super cute. So, now you have you have a dollar. So, three So, 375
math. Wait, let me do it this way. One, two, three, four, five, and then 650. Is
that what all of this would have been? 650 for a project. Each one of these, we
think, is going to make possibly 12
    bracelets. So, that's 36 bracelets.
I mean, come on now. That's a screaming. That's awesome. And Joan is verifying my
math. Thank you. Thank goodness I got out of high school. Okay, so here's the fun part in
tonight's whatnot. So, let me just let me just uh tell you something. I have been destaching until the cows come
home. And in addition to the destach, I'm also going to be relocating. So, I am moving
stuff out. Part of it is my mother's studio stuff. Part of it is mine. But in
    tonight's whatnot, all three skains
and the pony beads are an item, okay? Cuz they can't travel with me.
Everything's got to go. So, if you're going to join me tonight in the whatnot,
there are some pretty pretty good deals. All three SK
plus the two bags of pony beads are in the whatnot. And do you want another
sneak peek? I know you didn't come here for that, but I think there might be some people who would like a sneak peek.
Who wants to see? Oh, Carmen got her stuff today. We have had so much fun on the whatnot. It's just not even funny.
All right, so these, look at these. I am sorry, but look at how beautiful. Do you
see these? Look at them. So, these are handmade, fired, and painted. And they and then
they have like a hole, right? So they were all sitting
they were all sitting around a waterfall. Are they not gorgeous? Now I
don't know what jewelry piece you're going to make with these. I really don't. You're not going to wear them as earrings. I don't know if you're I don't
know. But they're beautiful. So maybe they're more of a home deck. But, you
know, we have a lot of junk journal or is that what it's called? Junk journal people and and um paper crafters who
have been coming to the whatnot show. And so, I don't know, they might like these. They're pretty rad. I mean, like,
they're really gorgeous. Hi, Sharon. Yeah, look at Patricia goes boom, craft
show done. Yeah, I think that I think that's just a really great project. Um,
so yeah, if you've not been over to whatnot before, um, if you're kind of wondering, well, well, Jules, why aren't
why aren't you just putting this in the Jewel Loom shop? I do want to explain to you that taking onesies of something
that I I'm not going to carry again because it's all cleaning out stuff, right? Um, and cleaning out a design
studio. So, so I don't want to go through and put them all up on the site
and then it's like a whole SEO nightmare, right? So, it's just easier for me to
clean to find things that I can move out and put them in whatnot. Whatnot is very
respectable app. It's just as safe as everything else I share with you, my Shopify shop. It's highly recommended. I
don't know if anyone's a Gary Vee fan here, but he's like all up in the whatnot business. Um, many, many, many
people use it. Cool to craft folks are the ones that actually turned me on to it. So, Tiffany Windsor and Ann from
Bellacraft Publishing, they're doing it and so I trust them. Um, and and it's
worked. Carmen um just said she got her package today. And I know Rosalinda was
Was Rosal Linda here? Rosalinda bought some stuff and she's getting her
packages and pro and you know money's being processed correctly. So, I get it.
Sometimes when you hear about like a new thing, you might be hesitant because you're like, "Oh, what's that? I don't want anybody having my credit card." I'm
totally with you on that. But I will tell you that it's it's a reputable
uh commerce place. So, and you could do your research. Um, but and even you
don't have to buy anything. It's just fun to see everybody live. So, um, you
know, you come in and everybody's like having fun looking at the items and sometimes people bid and and you don't
have to you don't have to. You can just come and keep me company and and be my
cheerleader and hang out. That's all you have to do. So, okay. So, that was a
lot. Hey. Oh, I want to mention Danielle just sent me this month's project for
the Creative Soul Box. It's ridiculously awesome. That girl makes me cry about
one time a month. Every time she shows me what she's made, I'm just like, how? I'm just like the luckiest girl in the
world that I have Danielle helping me with the Creative Soul Box. She does stuff to beads that like I'm like, how
did you even think about that? So, you can go take a look. There's only three boxes left and I will be really
surprised if they make it through the next day or two because this project is
phenomenal. Joan took a look at it earlier and she was just like, "Oh my god." Like she was super excited about
it, too. So that's on the on the Jewel Loom site and you just go to the um to
the creative soul box. Oh, and here's Rosalinda. She got hers too. She's like,
I'm going to try hard not to buy anything. Well, here's the thing. Like, this is
the kind of stuff. Okay, all of these gorgeous like coin. Look at them. So, I
    got product from a 1960s
seamstress who did the uniforms at Disney.
So, I I just have some stuff. I can't help it. And I It can't go with me. My
My car will only hold so much. So, yeah, it's um there's just a lot of
cool stuff. So, Carmen's all I agree.
Well, and we're not t I mean, you know, bids bids typically start at like $5.
They typically start at $5, but I would hope that everyone everybody who has
gotten something has seen the value in whatever they did pay for it and has noticed that it was probably worth a lot
more than what they got it for cuz you know me, I like I really throw in a lot of stuff. So, anyho, I'm super excited.
Okay, look at there's even look at these things. Are these weird? What are these?
They're like these super cool long They have a hole. They're about two I
don't know. They're like two and a quarter inches long. Anyway, I found these. Tell me those aren't super cool,
right? They almost look like I don't know. Anyway, Patricia says, "I have some of those old coins that were my
father's from when he was in the service many years ago." Oh my gosh, that's so cool.
Yeah. What state did you land on, Jules? I
I will announce it when it when it comes all together. If I had my way, I would go to Portugal
right now and just like go travel and go to the Azors and see where my family's from and stuff like that. That would be
cool, but I can't take Brando. So, I mean, I guess I could, but that it
is a lot of work to get a dog into another country. So, we're not going to stress out about that right now. Anywh
who, I hope you really enjoyed the project for today because I mean, come on now, right? Super easy, super fun.
They're totally cute. They're totally cute. And you can make them even cuter.
I mean, not for nothing, you can sew in beads. Like, if you want to take it to the next level, you can. If you want to
keep it easy peasy pumpkin squeezy, then just get the get your SCE of
Chanel, get your button, warp it all up. Right. So, and I just
noticed um there's four of these kits left. I'm sorry. I can't help it. I'm like,
you know, you know, my big background is QVC and HSN and jewelry television, so I
get a little excited when product comes into the mix. I love teaching you. I love sharing with you. But I've got four
of the these uh chandelier earring kits with all the the glass crystal left.
Look how pretty they are. I did these at my old um bead and wine events
that I used to do at the Channel Islands Harbor here in town. Aren't they cool? So, there's four of those left. Anywh
who, all right, you all. It is um it's a
little early, but I'm going to dismiss class this way. I can uh get some cold
water into my throat. Usually after the whatnot, I don't even have a voice.
That's just like the truth. And Rosalinda says, "I need another one of those kits. I thought I got two, but I
didn't." No, I'm pretty Yeah, because their their lists and everything are pretty clear. So, um if Yeah, I have
four left. Rosalinda wants to be sassy. They're
like Vegas, man. They're like super They're perfect for Vegas. Nice Vegas nights.
Okay, next week, um Danielle will have her video up for the July Creative Soul.
And again, it is gorgeous. There's only three box in this three boxes left in
this moment. And yeah, I would get one. I would get one every month. We only
have a couple boxes left because the subscribers are like they get their boxes first and then if
there's anything left then I put them out. So this month there's three. Anyway, oh good idea, Rosalinda for your
daughter. I like that. I like that a lot. So, I will see you at 5:15 p.m. Pacific Standard Time in just a little
under um little over a half an hour from now on the Whatnot channel if you want
to come and just play and just hang out and talk to me and and talk to your friends. A lot of people go over there
and there's new people, new friends to make. There's other people, did you know that? Outside of our little community
that are sparkly, so you can come and make some new friends.
All right. Um, totally totally love you and appreciate you and yes, Karma
saying, "Oh my god, I just saw the Creative Soul project. It's amazingly beautiful." Yeah, I I'm so incredibly
blessed. We are all blessed to have Danielle making the projects. So, I love curating all the product and getting you
all the good deals and all of that. and then pass the baby over to Danielle and
and she births it and makes it fabulous and so grateful for her. So, okay, thank
you Joan too in the background. God bless her. She's like, you know, it's late at night and she's she's like, I
got to go to bed, girl. But anyh who, all right, guys. Thank everybody. And
