Learn to loom a ring, with a cool focal, on the Baby Loom with Julianna Jewels Avelar, the creator of the Jewel Looms. This design uses 2 hole triangle & 4 mm Fire Polish beads, besides 8/0 seed beads. This is a different technique, because the Triangle beads are put on the warps, as you warp, instead of as you weave. Jewels also has a Q&A beforehand, which may answer any questions you may have about her looms or looming. The actual tutorial starts at the 33:14 mark, if you want to skip ahead.
The ring was made from the left over Fire Polish & Triangle beads from the Beaded Bracelet Kit with Boomerang Beads. This kit made a wide cuff, a medium width cuff, & a ring with some left over beads (depending on the length of the cuffs you are making). There are only a handful of this kit left. Get yours here: https://jewelloom.com/products/beaded-bracelet-kit-with-boomerang-beads?aff=11
To finish off the ring, watch the following tutorial. You remove the ends from the Baby Loom just like the wood loom shown in this tutorial. The ends will look the same. https://youtu.be/C-4E0DORw9c

hello hello oh my gosh I feel like such a big girl I did it all on my own but
0:07
let me just tell you I am missing my Joan because I came on
0:13
here at 3 30 and there was nobody to talk to so I miss you Joan I hope you are having
0:19
an amazing uh time with your hubby on vacation and we are definitely going to
0:25
miss you uh during this next hour of jewel loom School live hello everybody
0:30
[Music] [Laughter] um I am Juliana Jules for those of you
0:35
that might just um be joining for the first time you never know I did a lot of
0:41
social media today and um and you never know you just never know who might be new yeah ooh the Bronx
0:49
in New York City I love that I love that I love New York City I don't know if you
0:55
know that and I love the Bronx and I love um I just love the city and so when I
1:01
lived in Jersey I got to go to New York City quite often and it was just for
1:06
this little California girl right it was just like so magical I remember the first time I was there and it was just
1:12
like ah can't believe this is real like it was just so stinking cool so welcome
1:17
welcome I love that you are here Jeanette so um yeah so I'm Juliana Jules
1:24
the inventor of the jewel loom and um I've been a creative for pretty much my entire life and um this
1:32
is jewel loom School live we do it every Thursday here on the YouTubes and
1:39
on the Facebook julun page and so I can't see what's going on over there I
1:46
don't see I can't see the comments because Joan is not with me today I can only be in one place
1:52
um and so I'm here on the YouTubes obviously and so uh anyone who sees something that
1:59
maybe they think they can help help out with um Maria I know you are a plethora
2:05
of information and uh and and everybody just is so incredibly kind
2:13
um in our jewel loom Community always helping out each other so if you see something over on the Facebook page
2:18
where somebody might need some information uh just if you know that you
2:24
can help awesome and if not just let me know so that I can then um help them okay so hello hello
2:32
everyone Cynthia and Maria and Zach Zach thank you for sending me
2:37
um the image of your bracelet I have some thoughts
2:43
and so this segment of jewel loom School live is going to be kind of like a mix I
2:48
got Uber inspired okay by the
2:54
beaded Boomerang triangle two-hole bead kit by the way I think there's only
3:01
eight left and then that's it I bought all of the inventory of those triangles
3:08
and they're just like flew out the door um thank you everybody thank you I
3:16
really loved this kit this is where it started remember I made this amazing
3:22
bracelet so I'm gonna call it a cuff because these are more like cuffs right when
3:28
they get like really thick like that oh look at how pretty all that looks together the ring and everything and
3:34
then last week I was able to take some of the leftover beads from the kit and
3:39
actually do a smaller bracelet for those of you that don't want you know the Wonder Woman cuff
3:45
[Laughter] and then I was like but wait there's still more product and I really wanted
3:52
to show you how to um make the ring and so I want to do
3:57
that we've done Rings before I'm going to show you how to do the warping
4:02
process because that's really what is different from the rings that we have
4:07
made before where there is um tutorial where you know education on
4:13
how to do a ring uh not only in the jewel loom school but
4:19
the here on the YouTubes and so we're going to do that in addition to that Maria
4:25
um asked in the group last week about what kind of questions people might have and
4:30
so a couple couple notes Here what I have seen come through from a couple of
4:36
people where they're having issues with the
4:42
um what would the proper description be like the the tightness of their of their
4:50
let's see the tightness of their piece so for instance you know this is a very
4:56
simple friendship bracelet styled Edo um single hole bead very simple and what
5:04
the pictures that I'm seeing it looks like a couple of things you're
5:10
probably not pulling tight enough which in the same breath I'm going to remind
5:15
you not to pull too tight the other thing that is super cool and I want you to graduate to this is that the pictures
5:24
that came through to me today from a couple different customers from a couple different community members
5:30
um you're using different sized beads with and and it's awesome I'm not gonna
5:37
I'm not gonna discourage you from doing that but until you get your Rhythm until
5:42
you understand a little bit more you might be trying to do something that's
5:48
just you know like like you'll get there but I'm gonna encourage you to focus on one
5:56
size bead okay for example this is a NATO it's gestados I want you to get
6:03
this down before you start getting into for instance
6:10
see how we've mixed it up in this project lots of different styles lots of different sizes this is fantastic and
6:18
what you're doing is fantastic but you're still struggling a little bit I could tell with the flow with that
6:25
Soulful dance of going back and forth and um you know how tight your wefts should
6:31
be and not be so get that down and get really confident with one sized bead one
6:39
type of bead one size if you want to do 80s that's great I also love the six O's because they're
6:46
bigger and you can see them so I hope that helps with that question in
6:53
regards to like why is my project a little wonky um why are my you know why does it seem
6:59
like it's a little loose do I need to go back and reinforce it let's get this let's get one bead okay
7:07
let's focus here's a 6-0 so I want you to either really focus on
7:12
the Edo's or you could do the six O's one size one type all right let's get
7:18
that down and then let's go to the next level where you're like footloose and fancy
7:23
free and using all kinds of stuff so Zach I hope that helps because
7:29
um love what you did but I'm just going to encourage you to go back and only use
7:34
one size bead is that a deal hahaha
7:40
let's see yes you can see six millimeter right so let's do that let's just have
7:45
you focus on your warps like really getting your wart together
7:51
and you know the baby Loom is a great Loom to practice on you don't always have to be making like a bracelet right
7:57
if you're just learning get the baby loom out it's always in the Warped position you don't have to worry about
8:04
the rod um warp it up and then let's just focus on getting our wefts right you know and
8:12
and taking our time so Iliana Juliana I would like to know if there is any material that you would
8:18
love to use in the living room so um so again Maria had asked the question you
8:23
know about just like what maybe you would like to ask me what what um you know what do you want to see like
8:30
what you know like how what do you need help with basically and um I love this because Ileana asked Juliana I love that
8:37
our names rhyme we have matching names we're half of each other
8:43
um she asked uh what kind of a material that I haven't used that I would love to
8:49
use and I I did answer this in the group but I'll answer it here too I would love
8:56
to um find some more or find some cork
9:02
material and so I don't know if you know this or not but cork is made in Portugal
9:08
and I'm Portuguese yeah and so I would love to be able to
9:16
get my hands on some Cork and um and and do something with that so that
9:25
would be really fun that would be really fun and so um so Ileana that's that's what I would
9:31
love to do I would love to um either find some cork manufacture some cork
9:39
go to Portugal and buy some so I think that would be really great big shout out to the
9:45
hostess coaches in the house I don't know if y'all follow the hostess coach but what an honor to have her here with
9:51
us today um Lisa is a great friend she um does some really cool things with
9:58
food like once she cooks for you you pretty much like want to be her bestie forever
10:05
because um she just like is an incredible incredible host like
10:11
first and foremost she's an unbelievable host and she does things that are super cool so make sure you check out her
10:17
Channel because she's visiting with us and oh my God okay so whenever Claire is
10:22
in the house I've Claire is with us from South Africa and
10:28
I always get a kick when I see your name because you have just you've been with the community now I I I'm pretty sure
10:35
like since day one correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure you've been a part of the jewel Lim Community since
10:41
day one Claire and Cara and um and it's just always so fun yeah okay so it looks
10:49
like the cork thing might um actually be something that I need to pursue Melanie
10:55
is here Melanie I know honey that we need to congratulate you
11:02
um because and just forgive me I can't remember everything in fact you're gonna
11:07
crack up today but the honest to goodness truth is that when I went to go make this ring today
11:14
I forgot I could not remember for the life of me I had to go watch the course
11:20
that I actually created and taped
11:25
to remember what I did it had it just had been so long and there has just been a whirlwind of life in between then and
11:33
now so Melanie I know that something amazing happened for you
11:39
um and you'll post that about becoming a part of you were asked to do something I don't
11:47
want to misspeak so you post about it and then I will comment Stephanie congratulations again to your grandson
11:55
right graduated eighth grade today I didn't expect to see you so I'm so
12:00
excited that you're here and um zag and we got the Bronx in the house I
12:07
love it I love it and Bonnie Bonnie is here and Robin is here and Marianne
12:12
sweetheart [Laughter] oh thank you thank you thank you and
12:18
Cynthia all right very very very cool um Marie I'm just gonna kind of let you
12:24
prompt me um with any of the questions I do know
12:30
that you know if I had a hundred dollar bill for every time somebody talked about or asked about how to finish a
12:36
project I would be um
12:41
and it's valid because it's a big one it's like how do I finish this you know what do I do so you know when I first
12:49
started I've got like all my pieces way over here when I first started and just
12:55
um I have to kind of like do me I'm I'm doubled tonight hi Gloria um both Joan and myself
13:02
so when I first started beating on a loom
13:08
okay then some of you might remember that was from way back when annalene's
13:14
creative living okay so a lean had a loom and I fell in love with looming back then
13:20
and I used to do kits called Inspirations by Juliana and I would sell them on the aleene's creative living
13:26
show now we were straight up one way or the highway when it came to
13:33
design like this is what we did we did our base
13:38
with our Ado's and then we made these loopy bracelets
13:44
anneline's daughter Tiffany Windsor is the one who taught us all and to close it to finish it we would
13:52
sew on a button clasp okay this is a round one and so we would sew it on
13:58
now we were we were warping with fishing line
14:04
um we were warping with a form of nymo and believe it or not this bracelet it's
14:12
got to be was Josh let's see Josh might have been to was he three
14:17
when Grandma passed so I bet this bracelet is 29 years old because I made it the night that my
14:24
grandma my Portuguese Grandma passed away and um it's in the book by the way by
14:29
the jewel loom Inspirations book and so that's what we did
14:35
we warped with fishing line and most of the time we did our wefts
14:43
our weaving with this little spool that came with the aleene's beating Loom and
14:50
it was a form of nymo and I mean it was white I I honest to goodness I have to go look
14:56
at some of my other pieces I don't know if we had other colors and that's what we did and then we sewed on and Hermie
15:04
can attest to all of this because she was with us that's so funny hey girl I still have
15:12
mine you taught me how to make working out of leans yeah such a cool thing so we would sew this on and to sew the
15:21
um box clasp on I have done it in a tutorial and I'm here on YouTube and it
15:28
is in the jewel loom Inspirations book beautiful step outs really a great way
15:35
to learn how to sew on the clasp and I don't know if you have the book if you
15:41
don't have the book you could get it on Amazon I don't sell it myself because funny
15:46
enough it's just kind of hard to to um ship books
15:52
all this other tiny stuff I know I should probably carry it again but I can't offer free shipping and it's on
15:59
Amazon and so if you have Prime I think there's like free shipping whatever you could do
16:05
that okay I still get I still get my royalties it's all good and um and so
16:10
let me just see what else is going on so that's sewing on one and then I'll bring
16:15
this back in this is where we use the ribbon clasp okay
16:21
and there's definitely tutorials on that that we can link to and again it's like
16:26
I'm on my own without my girl Joan one of the projects though that I did
16:31
um Maria I'm pretty sure somebody asked about this was using a magnetic clasp
16:38
and so this project was actually a project that we did in the creative soul
16:46
subscription group and so the tutorial on this was a part of that a part of
16:53
that subscription and this right here is a
17:00
magnet clasp a very beautiful one with like encrusted crystals and what we did
17:06
was we warped with I think it was 24 gauge artistic wire okay and so what
17:15
happened with that is that it really lend itself to doing you know a very simple let me spread this open for you
17:22
okay a very simple closure right there and then I just added the jump ring
17:29
and added it to the other side very carefully and so yeah so that's a fun
17:36
way to close your project to finish your project it is a gorgeous bracelet this was a very fun a very fun
17:45
course in the creative soul group we um Robert made us all these Daisy wood
17:51
pieces and they originally were buttons so they have four holes in them and then we
17:56
added all the pearls yeah this is really beautiful but that's a magnetic clasp
18:02
and um let's see what else of course I just
18:08
I don't know I hope it's not because I've gotten lazy but I do really love my buttons I love my
18:16
big old buttons and so this was another creative Soul project and we just added
18:21
the biggest button from the button collection in the shop and then I painted it and this is
18:28
um we a warping with the hamtique hemp it's my favorite it's sustainable it's
18:35
you know any um coloring or what have you is done sustainably and they've got
18:40
all the organic you know stamps of approval so it's very cool
18:49
um so I I love using the button
18:54
I just I find that it adds a lot of creativity and
19:00
it is kind of like the most easy way easiest way um this you probably will recognize if
19:07
you took the Jesse James beads uh winter class and so again we used a smaller
19:14
button but I really love that as well and so you know you just bring all of the warps
19:21
together and then you're stringing it through the button and so yeah
19:26
yeah and
19:32
let me see let me see what is over here so Christian Christian Ross who we all love
19:39
and adore from um uh from JTV and she is just one of the
19:46
most brilliant jewelry Minds I I just I love her she beaded this big old hunk
19:52
and piece on the jewel loom and then she added you know the leather
19:59
um pieces here over the beads and then what
20:04
you can do is actually you know string your like we did on the hat band you
20:10
could put your your suede through there and um and close up the ends in fact where's the bracelet that Brandy did
20:16
I'll have to find that because my girlfriend Brandy did a really great closure as well
20:22
so I always um
20:28
wholeheartedly respect the question because it's a big one and
20:33
because of the way I design you know I'm always designing from a technique
20:38
standpoint and and I'm always storytelling for the most part like my
20:44
pieces always have some sort of you know
20:49
Rhyme or Reason so like this is another one that we you know we warped with the wire warping
20:56
with wire is like so stinking cool um because it really does allow you to
21:01
then finish your piece in a really creative way you know you can make your
21:07
your loops and then add on a toggle um
21:13
and it does have flexibility like you're probably thinking well what does that
21:18
feel like it feels great you know it's it's not like oh my gosh I have like a big old
21:23
hunken piece of wire on my on my wrist not at all artistic wire is beautifully
21:31
um soft and and uh it's a color color coded copper wire and
21:39
um and so it's very fluid and you know and very lightweight so yeah I love this
21:46
piece this took me I was talking to Melanie earlier earlier on the phone and
21:51
we were talking about color palettes and what have you and um you know I don't typically go in this color assortment
21:58
and I know the yellows and the pinks and the Reds for some people are just like you know like it's not you know not
22:05
really in your wheelhouse but we really stretched our um creativity and our color palette with
22:12
this one because it was like go you know go bright or go home so
22:17
and uh let's see so this is kind of fun too this is a bracelet Hermie might
22:24
remember this um I again made this probably 29 30
22:29
years ago on aleene's Creative living This was um you know a piece that would have been
22:34
made when we were sitting around in the kitchen during a break when we weren't
22:40
taping a bazillion shows in one day let me tell you we like
22:45
there were days when you know we were not done until night time like late it
22:51
was it was a lot of work and um in between we would all sit around and we had fishing boxes
22:57
and we stored all of our beads in these little p you know in the fishing boxes and and there were just beads everywhere
23:04
and um and looms and and we would just sit there and bead and relax but what
23:11
happened apparently is that I lost my clasp
23:17
and it's not looking like I can get a slider
23:23
through there because it looks like I glued the bajeebies out of it so I'm kind of thinking that I might try
23:30
to find a base like um like a maybe a pre-made leather cuff
23:37
and then secure this down to it because it's so pretty look at it it's all the fun
23:44
colors of the purples and the teals and it's so incredibly delicious I would
23:50
like to wear it but again I've lost my top lost my bottom and it is glued so I
23:59
don't see myself getting a slider on there so if anybody has any ideas feel free to
24:05
um let me know but I'm kind of thinking I'll I'll find something and then and then attach it
24:10
and uh hopefully wear it so okay let me just kind of do a scan here it looks
24:17
like we're pretty pretty caught up so Maria are you seeing any questions
24:22
that I've not asked Maria's are Joan today
24:30
oh what does this one say I have been pondering the idea in my head for a while now about threading on a large
24:37
whole seed bead pony beads on the warps before before wrapping my loom what do
24:43
you think of this idea so Robin I don't know if you saw my response to that and
24:49
I'm actually going to be doing that on the ring um yes like you can
24:56
string your beads onto the warp material and then warp and so we did that with
25:04
the um Pearl hexagon project that we did in the
25:10
um creative soul group and so I can't remember if you took that course or not
25:16
but um if I if I'm reading this correctly I think it's the same concept
25:22
but regardless I'm always going to be the one to tell you to like knock your socks off and do it
25:29
never know until you try so um yes go for that and then let me know
25:34
when I start demoing here in a sec um I will be oh Melanie I will be the
25:40
featured artist in August in in the beating group and which beating group is
25:45
that Mel
25:51
oh yes and Jeanette wanted to know about um okay and let me back up so Robin says no
25:58
I did not but thanks okay so it can be done and you
26:05
when you see me Demo how to put the triangle beads on right now I think it's going to click for you and you're gonna
26:10
be like oh yeah cool um same concept and and and I'll kind of
26:16
do a little something different and then I'll I'll do the the demo okay good time beating okay so Melanie our very own is
26:24
going to be featured um as a featured artist in August in the good time beating group so congratulations so proud of you you are
26:31
killing it I love the work that you do it's always very nice and clean and and you just um
26:38
your presentation and everything is awesome so okay and Jeanette wants to know about
26:46
um I would love to hear your tips on adding thread as you're weaving wefts if you run out yeah I mean basically you
26:52
know you're just going to for giggles you know we can just pretend that you
26:58
know this was on the on the loom and then I'm just taking the needle and the thread and you're just going to go back
27:05
into into the rows of the beads so you know how when we start we just
27:12
anchor off but um you know you're just taking the needle and thread and weaving back through I
27:19
feel like there's a little baby segment on that somewhere and so again we'll
27:24
have to find that but okay so congratulations we've got all kinds of yummy things going on
27:31
let's see okay yay yes yay Mel
27:37
all right so I'm gonna post this link really quick just so I can get this out of my face
27:42
um if you've not gotten your beaded pattern Boomerang triangle kit that I'm
27:48
getting ready to demo like I said before I went on I think there were only eight left I did buy all the triangles that
27:55
they had so once the kit is gone it's gone I just won't I won't be able to get
28:02
um any more so all right so without further ado
28:08
Heidi oh my God you just brought back okay
28:13
Heidi Heidi blanket chips in the house so like I'm a little of a little what is
28:19
it full of crump whatever that word is that New York word Heidi is awesome if you don't know who Heidi is Heidi and I
28:25
go like way back and um Heidi is um a designer on so many levels she's a
28:33
beautiful paper designer she's an incredible jewelry designer in fact Heidi and I did a lot of brainstorming
28:39
where I would say Heidi um this is what I'm thinking of
28:46
and then Heidi would go okay then she would come back and she'd go is this
28:52
your dad and I'd be like yes so we did a lot of ghost designing
28:57
together we did a lot of published designing together Heidi is incredible and if I'm not mistaken Heidi
29:05
you've like gone into like making pieces and I can't remember out of what
29:12
material I want to say like polymer clay pieces sorry I'm like getting so excited
29:19
here um so you're more than welcome to share that but how do you how to your
29:25
um I always I love you to death Okay so it's like a love Festival school today
29:31
all right I am going to it's been a minute right it's been a hot minute but
29:36
it always you know what when you have um friends you know you can pick up with
29:43
people wherever you left off right it doesn't matter how much time has gone by you just kind of you kind of pick up all
29:50
right so I'm going to I know not to hit the red button I am going to add
29:58
the overhead and then if I'm not mistaken I will remove myself polymer clay and resin yes
30:06
yes yes yes yes okay oh thanks Maria
30:12
okay so I
32:37
okay is there sound now
32:44
how about now testing one two three one two three testing one two three is their sound
32:50
same here no sound how about now is there a sound I'm trying to catch up when you removed yourself no sound but
32:55
now they're sound yes okay so I don't know how Joan does
33:01
it so you're gonna have to watch my face and and Joe and and the baby Loom sorry
33:09
I don't know [Laughter] boy what a bummer okay
33:15
um I need to take the ring off and again I'm just going to isn't it great deal like this because I
33:23
really like the ring I just think it's super cool and by the way remember the uh last week
33:29
I was looking for all the other rings and they were in that drawer I just couldn't see them here's the other one
33:38
and so it they're just fun I love using these they're unique and so when people
33:43
see them they're always just like wow did you make that I'm like yeah I did
33:49
so very cool okay so what I'm gonna do and I can't
33:56
have my light on so just bear with me here I've already tied the Wildfire I'm
34:02
using beige and I actually threaded my needle so my warps okay usually this is
34:11
not the case right usually we're not already threaded to the needle in this situation
34:18
um we are so this is the end of my Wildfire and this is the other end and
34:25
it's threaded to a needle okay so I'm gonna just poke the needle into the mat
34:32
and I'm going to just simply lay the
34:39
um warp down and I'm only doing two warps but before I do that what I need to do
34:47
and let me get this into the photo here into the frame you see my let me bring these guys in so I've got a boomerang
34:56
and I've got um Two Fire polished I'm going to leave that one to the side and then I have
35:02
another Boomerang all right and I don't know how to get this any closer but
35:09
maybe a little better lighting so I just want to point out that the tip of the
35:16
boomerang is actually facing towards me okay so the tip of the boomerang is
35:23
facing towards me towards my body and I'm going to and again this needle
35:31
and thread are tied onto the baby jewel loom already okay and I've come up and
35:39
over and I'm just letting it relax because what I'm going to do is I'm going to take the needle
35:45
and I am I am going to insert the needle into the
35:52
hole that is closest to the Loom all right so the left hole
35:59
and I'm going to string that on and then I'm going to pick up the fire
36:04
polish okay and then I'm going to pick up the
36:11
second Boomerang all right and then we're going to let that fall
36:20
so Robin at this point this would be similar to your I believe
36:25
thinking concept of can I string beads onto my warps
36:34
and then Warp so I hope this is what you were thinking of okay
36:40
so now the first boomerang the I'm going to bring this up to the
36:46
camera so just bear with me
36:51
okay so those are on the warp threads I've
36:57
I've basically put them onto the warp threads okay then what I'm going to do is I'm
37:05
going to put my needle down to the side because I need to get a grip on this warp and that these beads are just going
37:11
to flop around okay they're just going to flop around and we're going to let that lay down onto the groove in the
37:18
bottom here and then very carefully we're going to wrap that around and I'm going to just
37:25
do it twice to help me keep it in position and we're skipping
37:31
four grooves so let's see what do I got we've got one two three four perfect
37:40
and then we're going to bring it up and so this is a little tricky but just
37:45
don't sweat it okay I'm gonna take my finger here and
37:52
I'm holding the warp and you're like girl you are crazy yes
37:59
we can make all this tight again so don't don't worry it's not like when we're doing other projects we're good
38:05
okay so I'm going to take the needle and it's going through the bottom hole here
38:12
see my needle coming up and out and then I'm going to take that second fire polish
38:22
let me put it on there okay and then we're going to go through
38:28
the next hole so do you see what's happening there
38:35
and then I'm going to pull a needle through
38:41
so I've got to get everything back into position and and again don't be like oh my God my warps are everywhere yes it's
38:49
it's a little fumbolina in the beginning but we're going to be able to clean it up and nobody's going to get her and all
38:55
is well everything will be fine so I'm just going to come down here
39:00
and try to get these warps back into position I needed to skip four
39:07
okay and then I'm going to grab up here and
39:12
I'm just going to pull because I want to make sure that everything is nice and tight and one two three four
39:21
so we'll lay that down there Marlon Brando's scratching at the door
39:29
looks like I missed one there there we go okay so I want to see if I can't show you
39:35
hold on I'm going to wrap this around a couple of times
39:41
okay so see what we have
39:47
so you have the two boomerangs you have the fire polish that are on the
39:53
warps now already does this make sense to you all
40:00
let me see nobody's gonna get hurt nobody's gonna get hurt
40:06
all right so now the boomerangs and the fire polish are on what we need to do is
40:12
we need to tie off and then we're going to come back and I'll show you how I started the seed beading okay so I'm
40:18
going to turn this over and the fun thing with this is having
40:24
the needle because it can help to tie off right we're always struggling with
40:30
that little step
40:37
okay yep [Music]
40:43
I lost a little bit of my attention but not enough to worry about it I'm not going to fire myself
40:49
[Laughter] there we go I was able to pull a little bit tighter sometimes when that happens
40:56
what I'll do is I'll pull and I'll wrap around the button just to kind of
41:02
tighten it up a little bit and again I just want to get this a
41:09
little
41:14
okay let's see what happened here
41:20
yep okay awesome perfect okay so I'm going to turn that and if I were a pair of scissors amongst
41:27
all the things where would I be here I am and we're just going to nip this
41:34
and we'll put that needle to the side because we're done okay and so then we're just going to
41:40
scooch that up and this is the beginning of our project so again we pre-threaded we threaded the
41:49
triangle bead and the two fire polish two triangles onto our warp threads and now we're
41:57
going to go back to doing the traditional beading let me bring in the finished ring and maybe that will help
42:03
too also so here's the center right here's the center of the Ring
42:09
and now we have to build the base so we're going to build 10 rows in One
42:14
Direction 10 rows in the opposite direction and then we sew their little bottom together
42:22
okay so I've already got um
42:28
I've already got one of my got a needle and a some more thread here
42:35
all ready to go yeah that would be really fun yeah you
42:41
could take this technique and and like you know do something that something different too
42:47
okay so I'm just tying on very Loosely I'm only going to do one and I'm going to bring the needle and
42:54
the thread back over to my left side and I'm going to open up my eight O's so these are eight O's
43:04
and I'm going to bring the needle and thread under the warps
43:11
and then I'm going to pick up three so three eight O's are going to fit into that space that I made
43:19
and then we're going to let those fall
43:25
and because you know it's not very tight right now things are going to move Just Go With It Don't be you know just be
43:31
flexible don't get all um tense
43:37
although I'd like to know what was that it was a stray okay and then I'm going to prop those up let
43:44
me come up to the camera it looks too far away okay and then I'm gonna take the needle
43:50
and thread and I'm going back through the seed beads
43:58
and I'm just pinching them because right now they just want to dance everywhere and they're just like really giving me a
44:04
little grief so I'm just gonna I'm gonna pinch them and make them stay in place see so that that that always helps
44:13
all right and I'm starting like about an inch or
44:18
so down from the top my ring size is two
44:24
inches 2.75 inches and so that's ultimately what I want to make for my ring and I'm
44:33
only using the fire polish in between the four millimeter fire polish but on this
44:40
particular bead you can see I had fire polish and so I had a lot more distance in the
44:47
middle here I'm a little more fond of the look where
44:53
it's kissing a little bit closer you know I like how they look together like
44:58
that but I don't think this one is a deal breaker I'm just more attracted to this
45:05
style right here where it's you know just the one fire polish
45:11
so okay okay so I'm gonna once again I'm coming
45:16
under and I'm just building um building 10
45:23
foreign S I have to remind myself to stop at
45:28
three I'm like but that's not enough
45:43
so all you're gonna do um you're gonna do the 10 well you're going to measure your finger first and
45:51
so you know you do need to pay attention uh to
45:58
you know you have to figure out like okay well if this is a half an inch you
46:04
know if this area is a half an inch and my ring is 2.75 inches then you have to do the math
46:11
to figure out okay how many do I need um
46:16
it depends on whether or not I'm retaining weight on a certain day like water in your fingers you know how your
46:21
fingers swell so sometimes I'm like a six and sometimes
46:27
you know my fingers are swollen and you know who knows what size I am at that point
46:33
so I would say size to what you normally are
46:38
and just watch your salt intake
46:50
oh beautiful see it won't come out because of my my
46:55
uh you know that aleene sent me to voice training um because I couldn't enunciate I can't
47:02
get certain things and it's still it's still a challenge but um I'm gonna try because you have taught
47:09
me before did I say it right
47:16
I'm so embarrassed I think of you all the time too and I don't know it's just
47:22
really hard for me to enunciate quisha
47:29
I've never used so much math [Laughter]
47:36
you know what what's so funny about the enunciation thing is my parents named me
47:41
Juliana Christina Avalar do you know how impossible it was as a five-year-old to put my name into all those little you
47:49
remember all the little boxes right hahaha
47:54
the extra at the end throws everyone off okay
48:00
I used to be so embarrassed because I couldn't um I couldn't get my whole name into all
48:06
the little boxes at school and um and so anyway so on a lean's because I
48:14
was having some Annunciation problems they sent me
48:19
to a voice trainer in um in Woodland Hills now mind you
48:25
aleene's taped in Buellton California and I lived in Lompoc
48:30
the drive to Woodland Hills was not fun
48:38
see I think what it is too is the i a
48:44
is like it's like Portuguese right it's like the Hispanic
48:49
like I think that's what it is I think listening to my grandma Avalar and stuff
48:55
I think that's how come but
49:01
I'm gonna have that tattooed but anyway it was so funny because this
49:07
lady she was lived in like this if you know Woodland Hills it's like super cool right and there's like a lot of like um really
49:14
cool architectural homes and and uh just really really a neat area but um she did
49:21
like a lot of acting people and singing and things like that and then here was this little girl from Lompoc who
49:27
couldn't enunciate you know craft words or whatever and uh and so it's just so funny oh my
49:36
God it really wasn't at the time but now I
49:41
can laugh about it now I can laugh about it I wasn't very
49:48
happy about it back then so
49:54
so is this kind of making sense for you like how the process would be and um you
50:01
know I think I hope Robin made it back in she said she was having problems
50:07
um with sound and what have you but I think that her idea is absolutely doable
50:12
you just pre-stream um you know your beads onto your warp threads
50:18
and then you space them out exactly it's actually misspelled it
50:25
should be ah
50:31
James Earl Jones used to stutter very interesting I've you know and I've
50:37
um I just think you know when you're raised in a household with um another language
50:43
right I think that you acquire some habits and some enunciations and
50:51
and uh it just is what it is it's is that what yes that's what I was
50:56
okay awesome oh Robin well then I want to see what you do you're gonna have to
51:01
share what um what ends up happening so let me see how many do I have on here
51:09
and how's our timing doing okay we have one two three four five six seven eight
51:15
okay so let's do two more rows
51:26
yeah who oh my gosh who I have heard of stories um yeah you know voice training and just
51:33
like people who do things like that I love people who um learn how to
51:38
help people overcome you know different different speech obstacles or
51:46
even the way you read you know like that's a big thing like people learn how to read
51:52
um some people have a hard time learning how and then you know people have
51:57
um learned how to help people who can't process like what they're seeing I love people that can do that my Josh is like
52:04
that he works with kids on the on the Spectrum and he's a bcba and well
52:10
he does a lot of cool stuff him and his girlfriend both are stinking cool people we have eight
52:16
minutes to go okay I love Maria okay so is this 10 let's see let me
52:23
bring this up okay okay so that's one two three four five
52:31
six seven eight nine ten so then I would come back down here and do 10 more rows
52:38
and now it would be kissed together and then I would take it off of the Loom now
52:43
what I am going to do with this um needle and thread is I just want to reinforce this one let
52:52
me bring this up a little closer I'm just going to reinforce by going under
52:58
the warps and back through that row
53:06
okay and then I'll bring the needle and thread back down
53:15
and what you can do is you can go ahead and weave the excess all the way back down and
53:24
then you're going to leave as long as you have enough you know thread
53:30
um you're going to leave that needle and thread attached like you don't need to
53:37
cut it off because you can use that in the end to sew the two ends together
53:46
so just for time's sake I'm going to go ahead and put um put this one to the side now I actually
53:53
didn't do a third needle did I darn it let's see how much do I have on here oh I still have a little bit on here we'll
54:00
just pretend so what I so you know what to do next so you have your one side done you have your middle you've seen
54:07
how I added that to the warps and then I'm just going to do the same exact thing on the opposite end so I'll come
54:13
over here um in my turned
54:20
oh hold on I'm not I'm so used to working in a certain direction here so I'm going to come up here and I'm
54:28
just going to do the same thing and I'll do 10 more rows and then I will take it off and I'll sew
54:36
those two ends together and I'll have my ring and I know that we've done that there's
54:41
a tutorial on that so I don't want to take up time with
54:46
um with that process but I do want to just give you this visual idea here
54:53
you can see how quickly this comes together I hope like once you know
55:00
oh okay Harley I love your name oop I forgot to go under see I got all
55:06
discombobbled
55:13
Harley is a fun name
55:19
I wonder if people were naming their kids Harley before Harley Davidson or if that's like where that came from if
55:25
that's where it birthed I know my name was um
55:31
Jill my mom says Julie Christie was an actress way back
55:38
way back and then there's the um
55:43
there's a is she a queen what is she is it Queen Juliana
55:48
of which country I don't know somewhere [Laughter]
55:57
now we're just gonna pop that up and so you can just see like what I'm working on now is just the opposite side
56:05
together the middle of what
56:11
um this part Kara couldn't I have just gone through here
56:19
there's there would have not been anywhere to go because the beads are going this way
56:26
the boomerang beads and the fire polish beads are on the warp so they're going this way
56:36
yeah I do you understand like how come you couldn't you couldn't do that
56:42
because there's nowhere to go like you can't go through this middle part because the beads are going um they're
56:48
on the warps is that what you're asking me you have access to this class actually
56:55
Kara the um what was it called five different
57:00
five different rings I think
57:06
oh good Robin thank you it's just fun and when you're not trying to you know
57:11
that they came together really quick like I just made mine a couple hours ago
57:18
I don't know if I'm gonna have enough thread
57:25
we'll see and you can see I'm kind of scooching it back because
57:31
um I gotta get 10 rows in here we'll see if I have enough thread to do
57:37
that though I just wanted to give you an idea I think I can I have hope
57:47
Cara is a very successful real estate agent in Arizona and I love you and
57:53
um she's another person who I literally has been with the creative Soul Community since day one
58:00
and she makes absolutely gorgeous jewelry
58:06
oh you're so welcome Hey listen I um anytime you need help like
58:12
by the way if you're not in the texting Community it's different than the like the email sms's I send out but that
58:20
texting Community I'll put that um phone number up when you have you know it's a cus it's
58:28
like a customer service but it's it's um uh a real one one-on-one basically with
58:35
me and the creative soul group um has been using it for quite a long time
58:42
when they need help or you know so
58:49
so once you had your 10 rows you could just like scooch this down and do you see how it all whoops did I come out of
58:55
where where am I my internet connection must be a little wonky
59:03
so but I still have a few more rows to go so I'm going to slide it back up
59:14
can't have a lopsided ring thank you
59:27
so Heidi did um Heidi was on my design team when I
59:32
came out with my um dies for scrapbooking back in oh gosh I don't
59:39
even know what year that was but uh with spellbinders and so
59:45
uh she would take the die cuts that I had with spellbinders and make the most
59:52
gorgeous projects
59:57
okay so what do we got one two three four
1:00:03
five six seven eight we need two more rows do I have enough thread
1:00:09
oh my God let's see I'm really pushing it here this is too funny
1:00:19
and I'm sorry but my tummy is making noise
1:00:24
okay oh my gosh okay one more am I gonna be able to do it I think I am
1:00:31
this is really really super tight okay I gotta get over
1:00:38
10 to 12 years ago oh my gosh well it was before the jewel loom and
1:00:44
the Jewel Loom's anniversary is this year by the way 10 years
1:00:51
10 years this baby has been out not the baby but the mama
1:00:58
okay so there's my tenth row yay I had enough and I'm gonna slide this down so that
1:01:04
it's all kissing together and so yeah so
1:01:13
this is
1:01:19
okay now I see some things a little wonky right there I don't like that
1:01:25
hold on we gotta we got a wonky situation oh there we go we're good
1:01:30
just had to like get it all straightened
1:01:38
now you could certainly mix up the color you know if you wanted something super
1:01:44
neutral this is it you know this is the color palette but um
1:01:50
uh I think you could have a lot of fun mixing up like your uh what's it called
1:01:57
your bead soup beads you know the extras so you certainly could if you needed to
1:02:04
Maria I can't my hands will not hold a short needle at all like the jewel loom needle in my
1:02:12
hand are forever connected I couldn't hold a shorter needle to save my life
1:02:19
like it's my hand my jewelry hands are just done so I'm just trying to see
1:02:25
um so I just want to definitely go back through here I can I
1:02:31
yeah okay that was just a lot of drama that I'm actually pretty good I'm gonna
1:02:36
come under I'm going back through the beads under the warp here just to get it anchored
1:02:45
and then I'll just weave back through the rows
1:02:56
and what I did with my other one and I I won't do it here because I can't I can't
1:03:02
see well enough I use the Wildfire burner to trim my ends and then do what
1:03:10
Meredith you know how Meredith will make that cute little ball um but you have to be you know somewhat
1:03:16
proficient with the use of that so that you don't burn your piece off the loom
1:03:23
so I I do it off camera and I do it with a lot of light so that I don't screw up
1:03:31
so right now all I'm doing is just weaving um
1:03:37
back in and I think I'm pretty much at my end here let's see so I'm just going to Anchor to the side
1:03:45
and do a little knot
1:03:53
and again I'll just come back and with the Wildfire burner and very very
1:03:58
carefully trim that down and then all we have here oh I didn't
1:04:04
finish going through here let's go ahead and just do this really
1:04:10
quick we might as well I'm not gonna hit leave you hanging so I'm just at the opposite end now just
1:04:17
taking the needle in the thread and
1:04:25
maybe back through
1:04:34
okay okay all right so now I'm at the end of
1:04:42
that and I'm still going to leave it attached I'm not I'm not cutting off you know the the needle in the thread and so
1:04:50
what I will do let's see for giggles I'm just going to
1:04:56
um I'm going to leave yeah I'm not going to take it down down because I I'm going
1:05:01
to go back and do the little the little balls there let's see what's
1:05:07
going on here I'm not going to touch that one don't touch that one all right so we're
1:05:13
going to turn it over and very carefully remove it so you know how
1:05:19
I like to you know hold the piece so that it doesn't um crack any of the glass
1:05:26
and then just trim it off it's not really heavy so it doesn't bounce like some of our bracelets and baby Loom
1:05:35
put that over here to the side and then so here's our ring it just needs to be
1:05:40
sewn together isn't that great so just super
1:05:46
super fun just very very different very unique I
1:05:52
always anytime I wear mine I get like a lot of compliments so let's see what's going on here we've got
1:06:00
um we're just going to trim these guys
1:06:05
and I will just do
1:06:16
I thought about Danielle's technique with the pooling but I don't I'm gonna have to talk to her about that and see
1:06:25
I think it would work anyway okay so I just tied those
1:06:30
together and again I'm going to go back and clean all this up I just want to give you an
1:06:37
idea oh and then you got to be really careful on
1:06:43
this end because you don't want to cut you know the needle and thread so we want to get that all the way off
1:06:49
to the side here and then we're just going to tie these guys together you won't see them after
1:06:56
you make the ring like I'll show you mine you can't see all this stuff it kind of tucks in
1:07:03
and hides
1:07:11
okay
1:07:18
so I'm going to pinch that together and again I'm just going to take it down a little bit I don't want to accidentally
1:07:27
come on I just did new batteries
1:07:32
there we go okay um so then what you do
1:07:39
started so then what we're going to do is we've
1:07:46
got the um we've got the needle and thread right and it's attached and so I'm going to
1:07:53
bring these two ends together so the the thread is coming out of the
1:07:59
bottom right here and here's my needle so I'm going to come over to the other side and this is where we start to sew it all
1:08:06
together and you see how that pulls and I've got here let's get rid of this
1:08:13
guy because he is no bueno
1:08:23
okay hold on let me pull this again and so then it's coming together see it's
1:08:28
already starting to make a circle so you're just stitching the two ends together
1:08:45
and I've got like a lot of flyaways here that I will definitely go and clean back up I'm just really want to give you kind
1:08:51
of like the finale here so I'm taking the needle and thread and
1:08:58
I'm literally stitching those two ends and once I really feel like I've
1:09:08
you know like I've really gotten those two ends together
1:09:18
I will start to weave up each side so that looks pretty good
1:09:26
so then what I'll do is I'll start to take the needle and thread and now work my way through the entire ring so that
1:09:33
it becomes really nice and sturdy and let me bring the other finished one in
1:09:38
so this is the one I did earlier and you can tell it's really nice and sturdy you
1:09:44
see that it doesn't I mean I took like every bit of excess
1:09:49
thread and went through and went through and went through because I like the way that feels and it just makes me feel
1:09:54
like it's definitely much more much more sturdy isn't that great
1:10:00
and it feels fine by the way like if you're like uh how's that feel on my fingers it's fine totally fine
1:10:11
I love it I can't wait to where's the bracelet so here's the cuff so we've got
1:10:19
we've got the ring we've got the cuff
1:10:25
and I was really able to get a lot out of that kit
1:10:30
I was like oh there's more but wait there's more
1:10:35
so yeah very fun very you know neutral palette of course
1:10:42
um there's a lot of purple hints in these beads but you could do
1:10:47
this with any color combination so if you wanted to you know do something bright and
1:10:55
it was so funny I was listening to um I'm going to come back up here I was
1:11:01
listening I was listening to a
1:11:06
retail type of event today you know about like what you know checking you
1:11:12
know what to do and what have you and I guess it's like a big thing this Barbie movie
1:11:17
I mean am I just like really out of it but they were like plan your Barbie
1:11:23
events now and I'm like oh my God my you know like it's some people either like
1:11:29
pink or they don't I mean a pink ring for the summer not for nothing is always
1:11:35
fun because you know it's just I don't know it looks good are you excited
1:11:43
I'm just like okay I mean pink is you know it's I guess it's because of the
1:11:49
you know Barbie and hot pink right isn't that kind of like it's been forever but
1:11:54
yeah so a really fun fun neutral palette and you can use your imagination and
1:11:59
come up with anything I hindsight probably would have added maybe like
1:12:04
some green seed beads just for a little more interest but not for nothing I mean I
1:12:10
don't know that it's really going to be seen I don't think so but yeah so yay
1:12:18
[Laughter] I think we I think I got everything
1:12:24
Maria you are a doll thank you for helping and um I'll go back you know and finish this
1:12:30
ring that uh just clean it up a little and go back through to reinforce it and
1:12:36
yeah so oh Melanie there you are
1:12:42

1:13:28

1:13:35
the blessing that I got to share that with the creative soul group and so uh we've just been talking
1:13:43
Melanie and I about like just different ideas again I want to get um
1:13:48

1:13:54
she's talking about sewing around the cabs and I don't know how to do that
1:13:59
well Danielle if you you have the box so if you get any inspiration let me know
1:14:05

1:14:12
