    Transcripts Video 1:

    Always
fun to be in the background waiting to go live and chitchatting with Miss Joan
and then looking up and realizing it's after four o'clock. But this is our weekly gathering. So we
kind of we we uh talk a lot. Hey, how's it going? Juliana here, the inventor of the Jewel Loom. I'm so excited. You
know, I get so many inquiries about warping
uh your loom, you know, using different products and how to warp the jewel loom and why is my tension lagging? Um, and
so I don't think that I can ever demonstrate this enough. And in addition
to that, uh, this is step one of the January jewel box creative soul edition
kit. And so we're going to be warping the jewel loom with hemp teak, my
favorite hemp cord. And then I'm going to bring in the small wisdom warrior.
And so this is this is for a new customer, Holly. Holly ordered a small
wisdom uh warrior recently and she's going to be attempting to make the um
sun pattern that you get when you sign up
for the newsletter. And so I was really excited and I've been helping her along the way. And so I thought, you know
what? I'm going to warp the loom for her and I'm sure it's going to help out some
others, too. Hey, Jody. Hey Cecilia. Cecilia. Cecilia, listen. I did email
you back, doll. I did. And I I'm uh Can you look in your junk? Can you look in
your things? And can you not email me through the email? Can you email me at
jewelsjuloom.com? And I'll resend you what I sent you
because I want to get it right. I want to get it right. So, okay. Welcome in everyone. And hey, listen. Also, I just
want to let you know that there is a second color wave available
um for this month. So, if you're a a Jewelbox subscriber
and you want that sec second color wave and you let me know, I will invoice you
the $35 for that second color and it can hitch a ride
with your original box so that you don't have to pay extra shipping. And so,
we'll look at all of that together, but I just kind of want to put that in your ear. There are not as many second color
waves as there are original boxes. So, I'm kind of doing this like behind the
curtain. I don't have the second color wave up on the website because I want to make sure that the subscribers
um have a chance to say, "Yeah, I want I want one of those." So, uh without
further ado, I'm just going to also let you know MB is in the house. He's right behind
me. He is snoring like really loud.
Um, and so it is what it is. I if he's not by me, he just he cries. And so
we've done three walks today. I've cooked for him twice today. I just gave
him all of his meds and I'm hoping that he just crashes out. But with that said,
he's probably going to be quite the snore. So heads up. All right. So, I'm going to take it down to the mat so that
we can um we can warp the loom. But you know what I'm also going to do is I want
to show you what I've done. This is this month's project. Okay, these are two
whole boomerangs that I cannot get enough of. And I I mixed it up a little bit this
time. So, in the past, we've done boomerangs, but I've kind of kept it,
you know, uniform in color, maybe um uniform in size. But this time, I was
like, "Oh, what would happen if I added some gemstones?" And so, this kit has got some tiger's
eye, it's got sunstone, it has smaller sakuro and pryite along with some fire
polish. And what I just want to point out is that not only was I able to make the first bracelet,
I'm literally making a bigger one with the leftovers. Okay. And not for
nothing, I think I'm still going to have some beads left over to I don't know, maybe make some earrings. So, it's a
pretty thick kit. All right. So, let's warp our loom.
And I'm just going to bring the jewel loom on over here. And I've got the hempique. Uh side note,
with all the kits this coming year, I would say that there's a good chance that
many times we're going to be warping with Hempi's hemp cord
and or leather. Okay. I would and it's on the shop. It's in the shop, the Jewel
Loom shop. I would buy like neutral, like a natural color
or, you know, maybe even like a black or a gray is really pretty. And I'm loving
this slate blue. So maybe you buy like a couple of colors to have in your stash
so that as we're working together throughout the year, um, you have that to go to. I like 1 millimeter.
I just prefer the way that it feels. This is one mil, you know, especially working when we're working with the
heavier beads. You can try 0.5. I know Rosa Linda likes.5.
I'm a 1 millimeter girl. Same thing with your leather. Definitely don't go under
1 millimeter, okay? Like 1 mm is good
for leather. All right. So, with all of that said, I think those are the messages. There's so much to say. All
right, I'm going to bring you down to the camera here.
And there we go. Okay. So, okay. Wait, we didn't go. Oh, there we go. Little
bit of a delay. Scooch some stuff over. And I've got the
original jewel loom. There you go. And I have the rod. Okay. I will tell you that
earlier, and I know this is going to sound crazy. Um, it was cold. It was cold here in California. And um, we're
just such babies. It was like in the 50s, but my jewel was really cold. And
so, remember what Auntie Joan taught us? We want to take the jewel loom and we
want to like warm it up with our hands. Um, and I know that sounds silly and
ridiculous, but it but it helps. It really does help because when the um
when the plastic gets cold, we want to do like,
you know, we just want to rub it so that it gets a little bit warmer. Okay. So, I'm going to bring I want to get a
better camera angle here. Let's come over here. We have
We've got some. All right. So, what we're going to do is we're going to bring it down to Let's
see. Where are we? Okay. Do we see?
My goodness. Why can't we not get this in here? There we go. Okay. So, we're going to bring the rod down to that
bottom hole and then swing it up. Bring it up to the top.
and snap it in. And then I like to give it a little wiggle just to make sure that it's not going to pop out. Okay.
And so then what we're going to do is I have got to figure out where we are.
Okay. So then I'm going to bring the hemp cord in. And typically it takes
about two yards to warp. And so I like to just work off of the
spool so that I don't really waste any. So we're going to bring that down.
This is truly something is telling me that there's an angle here that we're
not There we go. Let's see.
    There we go. Very odd.
Hi, Carol. Okay, so I'm gonna take the hemp cord and I'm going to wrap it
around that back button. And the back button is facing me. And I'm a little
bit um I'm at a little bit of an angle just because I'm trying to give you the best shot, but the it's still in front
of me. Okay. So, we're going to grab and whether
you're using hemp cord, leather, um, wildfire, fire line, etc., you're
going to want to follow what I'm doing with the knotting and with the way that
I am warping. Okay. So, you can see that I've brought the
hemp cord towards me and I'm going to lay it onto one of the grooves. Now,
because it is one mm, it's not going to fit into the groove. It just lays on
all of those little spirals right there. Okay. And then we're going to flip the loom over
and we're going to bring this down to the bottom.
All right. And then we're going to And this is where a lot of people lose their tension. So I'm holding the loom. I want
you to see my hand here. I'm holding the loom with my left hand. I've got the
hemp cord with my right hand. And I'm really keeping the tension. Now, I don't
want to pull so tight that I, you know, make my loom bow too much because
remember, it's a flexible plastic, um, not a bendable one. So, we're going
to flip the loom around again and wrap that around the back button.
And because we're using six mm beads, I am going to skip about, let's see,
probably about three. So, I got one, two,
three, and then I'm going to lay Whoopsie. Lay that down. Flip it over
again. And come up to the top of the loom. Match it up as best
as possible. I think I got a little too much. Hold on
    here. Okay.
[Music] So, we got a lot of little guitar action going. And then we're going to flip it
over again. Now, I need four warps.
So, we're going to bring that down. Flip it around. I got my hemp cord tied
up there. Flip that around. And bring this back
up. Flip the jewel loom and back up to the
top. And then Whoops. And there we go. There's our warps.
And then we'll flip it over and we're going to come around just a
couple of times. The great thing about the hemp cord is that you can because it's so thick, it like locks itself.
Like I would never um let loose
if it was beading thread, but because of the hemp cord, it just locks itself
under the button. It's kind of really nice. So, I'm going to go ahead and cut.
And then what I'll do is I could bring in my original end and like tie those
    together. I Bonnie, that's hysterical.
I'm a new. I'll take it. All right. So, then we're going to flip the jewel loom
back over again. And what I'll do is I'll take my pointer
and I'll place that onto the grid there so that I can hold
hold the warps in place. And then I bring in my right hand.
And what I do too is sometimes I like use my body, right? So, like right now I'm pressing up against
um myself. And so there you go. And so this is
the distance between the bottom of the jewel loom and the top of the warps
should never be more than 2 in. Okay? And in fact, let me get here. I
want you to look at that. Let me get my tape measure.
Okay. So, we've got from the warp bed
to the bottom right there is 2 in. So you don't want to put so much
pressure onto your jewel loom that the warp that the bow right in this area is
any more than 2 in. I think that's really really important to know. Okay.
So that's warping the loom. And if um you're making
the January project, you can see that the reason why we skipped
so many is that we've got to have space for these six mm gemstones.
So, our boomerangs didn't need that much space. In fact, if we were just doing the boomerangs,
um we would skip like one groove. But because we're doing the six millimeter
gemstones with our boomerangs, we need to make our little warp alleys
wide enough to accommodate them. So, okay. So, that is step one for
the January project. And now what I'm going to do is I'm going to bring in
the wisdom warrior, the small wisdom warrior.
And I've got some red wildfire. And I kind of went bright so that you can
actually see what's happening. So I'm going to bring this down.
You know, from a design standpoint, you could say that, you know, she's facing you. The sword, the top of the sword is
up here. So this would be the top. But in essence, they're identical. Okay? So
if you want to warp warp her from the up the bottom up, whatever whatever works
for you. Okay. So let's get this into position.
And I'm going to again just work from the spool of wildfire.
And I'm doing um this for everybody. But again, Holly just bought herself
um she just joined the Jewel family and she just bought herself a um small wisdom warrior. And so
you're going to tie a knot on that back button, very similar to the way that you
uh get started with your jewel loom. And this is a 0.006, by the way.
this snoring guy behind me. Okay. So, we just want to really kind of
get like two nice two nice knots in there. Now, this grid is h very similar
to the to the jewel loom. Obviously, it's made out of wood, so it is different. And what we're going to do,
let me see. I want to make sure I really get Okay, I can't help but think that my
camera is on like um closeup for some reason. Anyway, this is
this is my right hand. Okay, this is my right hand. This is my right pointer.
All right, and the loom is pretty much in front of me. And so I'm going to guide that wildfire to lay down into the
groove. See how it lays down really nice inside of the groove? You could see how
it just snuggled itself into there. And this is where typically people lose
their grip. And I'm going to stand up because I feel like I can kind of keep a little more control over what's
    happening. So again, right hand
and I've got a really nice tension. I mean, you know, if you feel like you need to like wrap it around your finger,
you really should just play with warping in the beginning and so that you don't get frustrated. Um, just to kind of
figure out like what works best for you. So, I've got it
laying down in the groove and now I got to bring it all the way to the end. Whoopsie.
And I'm going to line it up as best as I can. You know, unless you're using every
single grid. I wouldn't worry about making sure that there are the
exact amount, you know, just eyeball it. I mean, for the most part, it's it's pretty easy to see. Okay. Now, this is
where you might want to readjust your hand, get a better grip on on the
    wildfire because this is typically
where people lose the strength in their hand. They lose the grip on the warp and
then the very first warp is just like it drops. Okay, so again, we've got a
really good grip on the wildfire. I bring in my left thumb. I'm helping to
guide it. And then I'm wrapping around that back button twice just to help
keep that warp really nice and tight. Okay. Now, Holly is going to be making
an 11 o seedbead pattern because she's going to attempt to make the um not
attempt. She's going to do so well. She's going to do the um sun pattern.
So, she's not going to need to skip any grooves.
So, I'm trying to see the grooves and not put my face in the camera. So, let
me just bring this up for a hot minute because I can't really see.
    Okay. So, oopsie.
We're going to bring that up to
the top. And again, I think you could see it a little bit better. See how we're not skipping a groove? And there's just
enough space in that little in those little warp alleys right there for an 11 O. All
right. And then we're going to come and we're going to wrap around that back button.
You do not need to go twice, but if you feel like it makes you feel better to do
that, then do it. You You're going to get to the point where you don't need to. But when you're first learning,
don't be hard on yourself. Just let it happen. Okay. So, let's bring these up.
And you can see like I'm really keeping the tension. And I'm going to bring that back down.
And again, we're not skipping any grooves because we're working with an 11 o toho.
And we'll wrap it around. And now I'm not too sure how many beads
across um there are going to be on that pattern,
but Holly, you're going to do one more warp than there are um beads.
So, we'll bring this back down. And
    those are really, really close.
Okay. And then I just kind of want to let's let's strum.
So you want to like strum the warps so that you get like that guitar sound. Okay,
that's good. And by all means, when you get to this point, don't be don't think like, "Oh, I
got to finish this. I got to tie it off and and this is it." Take it apart,
let go, and do it again, and do it again, and do it again until you get the
rhythm of warping your loom. There is no rush. Um, there is nobody that's ever
going to tell you you have to do it on the first try. I am ne I am not that teacher. I am all about practice,
practice, practice. So, we'll wrap it around again and let's for giggles,
we're going to go ahead and do another.
Yeah, this is looking really nice. Okay, so all these tiny little spots here are
where she's going to pop up the but um the buttons, the beads.
Okay. So, your experience with the wood looms is going to be a little different when
it comes to the warps because you're dealing with wood. It's flat wood. Um,
and the Jewel Loom has the rod in it. You know, that's that's part of the
acclaim to fame, right? It's got the the metal rod and it allows for the warp to
be extremely taut. So, let's at this point, let's see
what's going on. I mean, I'm pretty happy with it. I
think that this warp is fine. It's got a nice base for my foundation.
And I would go ahead and tie off at the back. And what you can do is you would
just simply wrap it around a couple of times. I don't want you to like waste a bunch of product and then you would cut
the um wildfire and then make a knot. So
again, very similar to what you would do with your your jewel loom. So okay. So
I'm going to put that to the side. Hopefully Holly catches this. and anybody else who needed some some help
with warping their wood looms. Any questions about that? I'm kind of trying
to watch. And um it sounds like a ukulele. It does. That's awesome. That's
a great That's a great um example. So, I'm going
to put this down. Yeah, I feel like my camera is definitely in some weird mode,
but we're not going to mess with that. So, um,
let's see. Let's look at the second color wave first. Again, if the second
color wave, if you're interested, you need to email me. Look at this. How
incredibly delish. All right, so there's some blue
turquoise, the pink. Anything pink in a bead, by the way, is very expensive,
very high-end. It takes a lot to get a really good pink dialed in with a bead.
So, this represents three and a half strands, four different colors, and
numerous four mm crystal um fire polish beads. Those are actually on they're
strung on the strand. So when you cut your boomers off, those are going to um
those are going to come off as well. So in addition to that, I'm going to just
turn this around a little. We've got the gemstones that I've added
    to this kit. Okay. So,
this teal teal black I think I have to have more in my hands to give Whoa.
The teal black tiger's eye is to die for. It is so cool. There's some matte
and transparent amethyst in here. Um, and then there's some fire polish. Now,
there's also going to be a button. So, I had a button made for the um for the
kits. This is the button. Um they haven't gotten here yet, so I wanted to
keep this one blank, but I will be coloring it. So, I'll take my colored
pencils and I'll pick out the colors that match and then I'll color this in.
Okay. So, they'll have a button. Um, you'll have all the beads that you need and
then you just need to get your hemp cord on order. And again, if
you want one of the second color waves, just email me at jewelsjuloom.com
and let me know that you want one. Make sure you have a customer profile because I won't be able to invoice you if you
don't. Okay. And then let me show you the
the original the January kit which I've I've been using.
So like I mentioned earlier, I've already made one bracelet. So we've got some blue and black tiger's
eye sunstone. Um the pry night is the Where's it at?
I don't know. I might not have put some in this bracelet. It might be in the other bracelet. I think it's in the
other bracelet. And what I did too was you can see that I had some 11 O's to
take up the space in some of the warp alleys that needed a little bit of an
extra something. That's an 11 O. So, it's a good way to use um some of your
extra seed beads. So, again, three and a half strands of boomerangs.
Um you're going to get Let me bring in this this tray right here.
So, yeah, I think I am definitely in some weird like closeup mode
cuz I'm not getting a lot in my screen like normal. Anyway, I'm going to bring this up a little here. Let's see.
Look at that blue. That blue is to die for. Oh my gosh, it's so beautiful.
And then this really delicious green. And
there's the pry night and the saguro. That stuff is expensive. The blue and black teal, the sunstone,
the button and the pink. And then some of that slate blue. So very cool. And then this
is the project that I'm So this is going to be my second bracelet with the same kit. And this time I went four across.
So I've got eight warps. Okay. So instead of doing what did we do
over here? We did four, right? So this is double. So I did eight warps.
I'm halfway done with my project. I still have all of these beads from the
same kit. So I'm going to have plenty of beads. Plenty plenties.
And um I'm probably going to have leftovers for some earrings or something. I don't really know, but
there there will there will be um some leftovers the 11 o add to the design. I
like the pops of color. Yes. Yes. I love that too. So So
this has got a little bit of the sukhuro. There's one of the pride. No, that's a fire polish. Where's the I
think that's one of the prime knights. It's a very Whoops. It's a very light green.
So, it's fun because it's like there's little hidden gems literally in the
bracelet. And so, I just love these as you could tell. I mean, my energy is is
very excited and very up. I'll show you some that I've made in the past. Um,
these were all pink beads. Okay. And then just a bunch of fire polish.
Um, these were a little bit darker of a boomerang. So,
kind of like a fall vibe.
And then I had Yep. And then the turquoise. This is what I wear this one
a lot. I love this one. So, you can keep it real simple. like if you have extra fire polish in your um collection, uh by
all means you might want to dip into that and add them. And then the original
original the OG the OG baby. Let's see. I do believe I can't remember which one
was the OG, but I think it I know it was one of these.
I mean, come on now, right? I've been trying to get these little stinkers in the turquoise and I can't. This was
years ago. We did this project years ago in the creative soul um
in the creative soul group. So, let me come up because I I did fail to tell you
about one surprise, too. Let me switch cameras.
I'm gonna move this out of the way. Okay, let's go back to here. Okay, the
other thing I want to let you know that I'm going to do is when Hey, Carmen. Um,
is when you the So, the subscribers for the January kit, new subscribers,
new buyers, um, and those that get the second color
wave. I'm gonna let you get into the course. I'm gonna throw you into the course in
the bead loom school. Okay? So, you're going to see footage from a few years ago when we were doing the original
layout, right? So, you're going to have um different patterns there. And what I'll do too, because this is going to be
like an all January, every Thursday demo, once all of these are done, I'll
add them to that course so that it's real easy for you to just find everything. And um and so
so yeah, so you'll have to go over to um uh you can go to jewel loomschool.com
or beadloomschool.com and then if you're not already in there,
just sign up so that I can find you. And make sure you use the same email, the
same email you used in jewel.com. Use the same one over in the school,
okay? so I don't have to like search for you. All right, that was actually Joan.
A Cameron or Cameron Carmen. [Laughter]
Oh, Sandra's here, too. Oh, Sandra, you're the one that made the comment about the pops. Yeah, I love that. I
love that on um I love that. Oh my god, I'm shedding. I
love that on this bracelet. You can't really see them, but under the overhead
you could see them better. And I just randomly grabbed a tube. And I think
they're like a luster turquoise or something. I love those lustered seed beads. They have my heart. Um but it's a
great way to use like your um your leftovers. So the crystal also looks good. It Let's
Yes. Yes. Such a Yes. Thank you. because I was like,
you know, I'm go big or go home, right? So, this is me kind of like bringing
angels, bring it in. And then I'm struggling throughout the
process because I'm like, oh, there's not enough. So, thank you, Sandra. Thank
you. Um, and what she's referring to is the fact that I'm really letting the boomerangs in this particular bracelet
be the star, right? which is fine. It's fine. And it's totally cool that this
has got like a bazillion different colors. Like that's cool, too. But there is a difference, right? There is a
difference. So, thank you for validating that little design uh decision cuz I do
think that um that they really pop. And I am going to So, on this design over
here, there's only one pink. Do you see her? She's right there in the middle. Just
one. Okay. So, I'm going to take one of our pink beads from this kit and I'm
going to put her also just in the middle. So, it'll be kind of fun. I like doing that. I like sneaking in a little
little bit of something. A Thank you, Aendelle. Thank you.
Okay, so there's I wish I could Carmen. Um, I was hoping, Carmen, I I think you
uh I think you speak Spanish, right?
Let me know because I got to I just have to share this with you. I was like giddy
yesterday and I just I want to pull this up. I got to find it though. Let me see if I can't find it.
Let me see. I should have had it ready to go. [Laughter]
So, I got a um fivest star review
yesterday from a customer who was ecstatic about
her gemstones. I'm going to be really mad if I can't
find it. Come on. Oh, this is just crazy. Wouldn't you
know it, I can't find it. Anyway, it was so f It's all in Spanish.
Okay, so the gist of it is that the five star
the fivest star review which by the way you guys thank
you so much like we've almost hit a thousand five stars
and I'm take each one here we go here we go
okay I'm going to make my screen so I can see Carmen's Carmen says of course Jules I speak Spanish Okay. I don't
know. Like a lot of people think because I'm Portuguese that I speak Spanish. They're not the same. They're not the
same. So So I get this five-star review yesterday, right? And um and and and
    it's published. So it's uh M A Y R A Ortiz. Myra Ortiz, right?
And it's and Carmen, you can I know you're going to get a giggle because I'm going to try my best to annunciate in
    incandor
elor. See, then I get all
um and I listen to the translation. I I did one of those, you know, let me hear
this in Spanish. Okay, here's the best part. Okay. She says, "Gracias, Julana.
Poor me regalito." Right. That's that's gift. I'm probably slandering all the
I'm so sorry. I'm trying my best. She's enchanted with the colors. Exactly.
[Laughter] I was like I was like a kid who was so
stinking happy. Like I thought this was the best thing ever. Getting a review in Spanish.
It was just so precious. But what I'm really confused about is she put the
happy face upside down. Is that a Spanish thing? Like what does that mean? Gracias Julana Pori Regalito. And then
the happy face is upside down. I need to know what the upside down happy face means.
I don't know. So yes, I got Thank you, Juliana. But I love my name in Spanish
though. I mean, because that is very close to Portuguese, right? Juliana. I love that. Love that. And I did I did
see that. But I don't understand the upside down. She probably made a mistake. Wanted a smiley. Okay. I don't
know. It was so cute though cuz I'm reading this and then I I'm like, "Oh my god, the smiley face is upside down.
What does that mean?" Anyway, and how m a y r a Myra, right? Myra.
So, thank you. Thank you so much. That touched my heart so so deeply. I really loved it. It
reminded me, and this is no joke, I one time wrote my Portuguese grandma a card
in Spanish. And she looked at me and she had no
clue. She had absolutely no clue what it would because it's not the same.
Spanish, Portuguese is not the same. But it was just so funny. Oh, playful, silly smile. Is that
Anyway, I just had to share that with you because those are the little things as a small business owner. First of all,
the fact that y'all take time to do the reviews is like the best thing in my
heart ever, but to get one in Spanish was just so precious and so heartfelt.
And I really really loved it. I just I was so excited. I was like, "Copy paste,
go find that translator thingy and then read it in English, but then I want to
hear in Spanish." And it was just so delicious. So, thank you guys for when you do take
your time to do the reviews, whether they're in Spanish or English or whatever language. I get such so much
happiness from that. A thank you. No, it's very You know what? That's so
true. So Sandre is saying that the gemstones are so beautiful, but when you get them, the pictures just don't It's
so hard to like photograph the gemstones or photograph the beads in general. Um there's like a
couple seed beads that like really haven't moved very well. And I'm like, what in the why? like they're so I think
what I need to do is like do pores, you know, like just be like here's the seedbead. Let's pour it into a jar or a
bowl or whatever so that you know people could see the colors cuz it is it's hard to get like the truth of it all. So
anyway, I know this was a lot of information about all the different kits. All you have to do is email me for
clarification. But the bottom line is that if you buy or have bought a January
subscription box um and you want the sec second color
wave, then it can go in that box so there won't be extra shipping, right?
Sounds pretty good. So if you want that, just email me and say, "Hey, Jules, I
want the second kit. I'll send you an invoice. It'll go in with the January box. No extra charge for shipping. Okay.
Same price, $35. Um, and it's a lot. And the cool thing, I
think, is like if you do get the second one, then you can kind of mix it all
together and you're just going to have like a field day. You'll be able to make so much stuff like for reals. And those
the boomerang strands are not cheap. like they're like $10 retail a piece and
you're getting three and a half of them in your kit along with all the other stuff. So, but but that's the jewel box
way, right? Like I really like to make them full. Um I think that's I
think that's what we got. Joan, you got anything? No, she's shaking her head. She's like
ready for bed. Do you know what? Can you come on really quick?
Because I do want to ask you something. Hi.
So, I saw the story about that poor eagle that was shot. Its beak was shot.
Have you read about that? Is that the one where they've already repaired it? Yes.
They used, by my understanding, they used the 3D printer to help. Wow. That's
And the beak is made of keratin just like our fingernails. So then it would,
you know, once it got that it was able to eat properly and, you know, grow out
and, you know, I mean, it's probably not grown out yet, but it'll eventually repair itself then.
Oh, that's so cool. Tina, welcome in. So happy that you uh this is her first time
first time tuning in. This is the end of the show, but you know, Joan has such a love for birds in general, but eagles
are her heart. And so when I saw that story, I was like, does Joan know?
I think I first heard about it a couple years ago when it was first found. Oh my god.
It's just so sad because, you know, half the beak m I think it was the top part of the beak miss.
So it could Yeah. You know, yet they had to really be careful the tongue didn't dry out too.
H Thank god there are people that know how to like do stuff like that, right?
like well it was because that's the first one that had gotten a 3D printing I think
you know for an animal or maybe a bird I'm not sure but it's one of the first Wow that's fascinating
repair yeah I thought that was so cool that they're using technology today to help the animals
yeah know I I knew that you it would be a Joan story and you would know
I saw that and thought about you immediately and um I'm happy that it's okay because We we love the Eagles here
at Jewel Loom. Um and we love your your ventures and all of your heart that you
um you put into everything. You know what we didn't talk about? We're such goobers. I didn't mention the whatnot
show. I did post the links earlier like halfway through the show, but I'll post
them again really quick. Okay. So, just so everybody knows, um, every Thursday at 400 p.m. we're here on
YouTube doing a live and then right after at 5:15 p.m. Pacific Standard
Time, we hop over to WhatNot. And um, and so whatnot is a selling platform
where John, many of you know John, he's my beady bestie. He's Jill's best, you
know, like we all went to the Czech Republic together. And um and so he and
I have been doing whatnot and we have been um selling beads and we have what's
called $3 starts. And for the most part, they stay in that range. Like people are
getting deals on strands of beads. It's just it's crazy. Um and a lot and and it's
old. It's vintage check glass, German preWorld War II glass. So, it's not like
everyday stuff. It's like 20 years old and it's really beautiful. And so, um there's a link
where you can sign up and you'd get a $15 credit. It's not a Jewel Loom credit, it's a whatn not credit. Okay?
It's all whatnot. It's got nothing to do with Jewel Loom. Um, but I have started
to do it under Juliana Jewels and I love it. It's fun. We get to chat
like this and um and I don't know if you
can see, but I've got the table over there all set up. So, there's just a ton
there's a lot a lot a lot of beads. A lot a lot of beads and vintage buttons. I mean, just some really, really, really
gorgeous, um, gorgeous pieces. So, um, that's going to be on here, in less than
a half an hour. So, but we're going to do that every Thursday. We've been doing it over the
weekend, like on Sundays at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time. I might do a
Saturday morning show if I could get my butt out of bed.
I have a question. Is that the same link for every show or is it a different link
for each whatnot show? That's such a good question. I don't
know. Well, the $15 credit thing is always the same. That's always the same.
But I think it's a different link every show because they actually keep the shows so
that you can go back like if you screwed up and you didn't write down a number correctly, you can go back and watch.
So, it's a new link every week or every time I go on, it's a new link.
Yeah. So, anyway, all right, everyone. Thank you so much, Tina. Tina says her
son's school made a 3D printed leg for a dog. That is so cool.
Yeah. I saw that 3D stuff like years ago and I
was like, "Holy cow, that is cool." And people now have 3D printers in their home, like
you know. So, it's a I love technology when you can figure it out.
It's good stuff. Hey, one more peek at the bracelet because I just love it so much.
So, this is Yeah. January's um jewel box
creative soul edition kit. And again, I made this bracelet and I've
got another one on the loom from the same kit. So, there's a lot a lot a lot of beads. This is a big kit.
So, good stuff. All right, everyone. I hope you have a really really really
great rest of your week. Tina says, "I watched a replay with Danielle." Um,
that's how I found you. A awesome that Carmen, I miss you,
Bonnie. Everybody, so good. Cecilia, don't forget to email me at
jewelsjuloom.com so we can get this we can get that figured out. Um,
so I think we got everybody in there. Awesome. Okay, guys. I'll see you next
week with step two of the January project and we'll start doing some beading and um and that'll be a lot of
fun. It's probably going to be like a threepart series is my guess. So, we'll
we'll have that. All right. Thank you. Thank you for joining us. It's great to see you.
    of you Sil.
    Transcript Video 2:
Welcome in everyone. Welcome to the Jewel Loom YouTube channel. Bead Loom
School is in session. I'm super excited um to show you how to use the Jewel
Loom, the original Jewel Loom, and I love it. I just got a text. Is the show in an hour?
Well, this show is happening right now. What not is happening in an hour and 15
minutes. Mr. John, that is so cute. Um, so happy the way that everything turned
out. This was the original bracelet that I made for this month's Jewel Loom
Mosaic Muse kit and I had a lot of fun. The the
simple act of coloring in the wood buttons, I don't it just brings me such peace. I
really I really love it. And look at how cool that one looks. I I don't think I've ever played with this button
before. So, I was excited to be able to put it into the kit and then mix it up
with six millimeter beads and the pyramid um the pyramid the boomerang
beads, which I've not done before. So, that was really cool. Now, after I made this bracelet, I literally had enough
leftover from the kit to make this bracelet, which I'm going to take off
the loom. Not sure if it'll be today or next show, but I was able to make
all of this. So, so far I've got two bracelets out of one kit. And when I take you down to the mat, you're going
to see that I still have a lot of stuff left. So, it's pretty crazy. Hello, Mustang 73. Very cool handle.
I love me a Mustang car and a Mustang horse.
All right, so there are some kits that are still left. Uh the Mosaic Muse is
the uh main kit for January. And then the second color wave is called Amethyst
Ocean. And so they both have a plethora of um boomerang beads, three
and a half strands, three and a quarter, but three full strands and then like little bits and pieces of the slate
blue. They've got gemstones, fire polish. They're just packed with all kinds of yumminess and beautiness. So um
again, both of those are available. You can go to the homepage of jewel.com. They're both going to be there. If you
buy both of them, I'm gonna put them in one box. And if you, you know, I'm always really great about shipping, by
the way. I just just said to Joan, I'm not gonna confuse everybody, but all I'm going to say about shipping is like, and
people know this, if you pay too much, I always reimburse because you could tell
the app what the weight is. And then sometimes it's just weird and and it charges too much. But whatever, that's
neither here nor there. Okay, so welcome in everyone. I love all of the faces,
all your little eyeballs. So good to see you again. I'm Juliana Avalar, the inventor of the Jewel Loom bead loom.
Also the mama to the baby loom and the amazing Jewel Loom needle. So without
further ado, we're going to go ahead and take it down to the mat. I'm going to go to my overhead
camera here. So professional. Sounds so fancy. Here we go. All right. So, these are Let
me just kind of do a um So, here are all the beads. Now, all
these seed beads are mine. They don't come in the kit. All right. Those are the filler beads that I'm going to show
you why you would want to get into your seedbead stash of 11 O's and have them on your table. So, these are all the
leftovers. Now, this is just a fun little thing that I um you know, Miss
Joan had suggested or asked, "Hey, can't the six millimeter 6 millimeter beads
go, you know, in between?" That's another good example. Can they go in between the
    boomerang beads? And I was like, I don't I don't think so. I don't I don't know.
And so then I was like, well, shucks. I have to I have to see. So, I tried. And
sure enough, look at this. It works. So that's really cool. Now, that's not how I built this project, but I'll tell you
what, I will be doing one with it that way, cuz I am loving that idea. All
right, so again, you can see that after I've made two bracelets, you still have
oodles oodles of beads. Blue sapphire. Hello. Hello, Carol. Everybody, I love
it. I'm Cece when I'm buying from you on whatnot. Ah, I love that.
I love everybody's little handles over there. We've got a whatnot shot a shot show coming up at 5:15. Um John was just
asking me if I'm if it uh if we're still on and we sure are. Okay. I do want to
point out that the slate blue beads that come the boomerangs that come in your kit,
those in particular seem to have a little bit of a glass stuck in the
holes. So, just to save your sanity and not use my name
with any naughty words, you're going to want to just take your needle and poke through the holes to make sure that none
of your beads have any glass stuck. And this is a this is kind of a thing like
it just sometimes it happens. Most of the time it's fine. But I have just found with the slate blue boomerangs
just consistently over the years, those are the ones that seem to have like a little a little glass um stuck in the
hole. And even if it feels like it's not going to go all the way through, just work on it. Just be gentle, but work on
it. It just it pops through. So, what we're going to do, I'm going to take Okay, this was the bracelet that I made
originally with all the six millimeter beads. I'm so in love with the button.
I'm just like really really loving the button. It just makes this whole project look so delicious. It's so good. Okay,
so we're going to put that to the side. Focus on the beads. I'm going to get
these two needles out of the way so I don't poke myself. I do like to work on a fuzzy mat. Um, Beetleon has all these
fuzzy mats. They come in a couple different colors. now last week and we'll make sure to
post Let me scooch these over a little. We'll make sure to post the link to last
    week's um howto because that's how I I I showed
how to do the warp. I'm tell who how do you live without these? They're like
golden. All right, so here's the jewel loom. Okay. And I'm just going to
I'm just always so funny. I can never see the jewel loom upside down. It makes me crazy. So, I have to like reposition
it. So, we got the loom all set up and warped so that you can um see that I
have wider warps so that they will accommodate the 6 mm bead. So, when you
are setting up your warps, you always want to set them up to the size of the
largest bead, the largest width of the bead. And look at that tiger's eye. Just
Oh, Shucks, that looked really cool. Is it going to do it again? Look at the tiger's eye. So, you've got this blue
black tiger's eye that comes in this kit. It's so cool. Okay, enough playing
around. I'm like really um What is that word? I'm very excited about things.
That's all. I'm just very excited about things. Okay, I've got a super long piece of
um wildfire. Let me show you the wildfire. My mine is kind of like all
packaged up. So, I keep my blue tape so that I can just um you know, I don't lose the tail. But
this is the 0.006. This is beige. This is one of their larger larger spools.
So, okay. So, what we're going to do first is I just want to anchor on to the
loom. I'm just going to do a little baby knot on the side of the warp over here.
And full disclosure, I do um you know, Marlon, I have a Frenchie, Marlon
Brando. He is uh behind me snoring away.
I've tried not to let him in here. It doesn't work. So, it's just part of the
show. All right. Hey, Carmen. All right. So, uh just to point out some logistics
here. I've got and I'm going to scoot over just a hair. All right. So, you can see that I tied
just a very loose knot just to anchor my thread to the warps. I've got the needle
in my left hand and I'm gonna pass it underneath the loom into my right hand. And then at
this point, I'm going to pick up. All right, I'm going to pick up a size
11 O. So, here's what happens when you build your warps to accommodate a really
big bead along with a smaller bead. You've got to take up the space. So, I
need to have a little 11 O on my loom. I mean, on my on my needle and then I need
to pick up the boomerang. Now, when you pick up a boomerang, I want to get this in. Let's see. I want to get everybody
else out. There's going to be like a lot of note takingaking here. You might want to have like take some notes or
pen when when certain things I'm talking about because you have to pick up these boomerangs in a certain way. And I want
to describe this the best way that I can because you're not in front of me. So,
this part, the actual tip of the boomerang right here is facing
away from my body. Okay? So, the loom is
right now in front of my body. The boomerang beads little tip right here,
right, is facing away from my body. and the solid part is facing towards the
loom. And it's very important you pick up this bead in this way or the they're
going to be upside down. So, I'm going to put the needle in the top hole
and then scooch it on. And then I need
another little 11 o to take up some space.
And then I'm going to pick up another boomerang. So again, I've got it to where
the tip of the boomerang is facing away from me.
Okay? And the solid part is facing towards the loom. And the needle goes in
that top hole. And then we're going to scooch it. And then we're going to pick
up another boomerang. I mean, another another
11 O. And then we're going to let's get a pink one over here. So, we'll lay the
pink down. And we're going to
again pick that up. And then we need one more 11 O. Okay. So, we'll let these
    drop.
My wildfire is catching everything on the
desk. [Music] And I want to make sure that I stay up
here close to this hole because this will help me to center my bracelet. So, let's get a really good shot here. So,
all of the beads are hanging under the warps. We're going to take the pointer
finger and we're going to help put all of the beads into the little alleyways.
Okay. So, you can see how the 11 o seed beads
really help to take up the space. And I actually, let me just look at
something really quick. Can't remember. Yeah. So, what we want is we want a
seedbead on each side of the green. And sometimes what we have to
do is just start the process. Okay. So, I'm going to go So, the the thread is
over here to the right. And I'm going to go through the
seedbead. Now, that guy needs to be over
here. And then we're going to come over here
again. So, I'm just going back through the
beads. And I'm being really careful to not poke the hemp te cord.
All right. And and see how my needle wants to go in at an angle. Don't fight it. Just let it let it go in because
then you can adjust everything. And I've kind of slid down a little, but we'll we'll move that up. And then I'm going
to pull pulling the thread all the way through.
Once you get your rhythm down on this, it does go faster. All right. And then I
just can see that I need to scooch my beads up a little so that I have enough
room to make my bracelet. I'm a six inch wrist, by the way. You definitely need
to know how big your wrist is so that you can um
make your bracelet the right length. Okay. So, now what we're going to do, and I want to make sure that this is
really Let's see here. We've got to push these down. All right. And I'm going to pick
up some seed beads and get them over here close to me. So, I've got to come under the warps.
All right. Pick up a seedbead. And this might This is You do need to
pay attention, okay? You're not going to go like super duper sharp or fast.
And so, we picked up our seedbead first. And then we're going to put our needle
through that bottom hole. I'm going to turn the loom. Hold on cuz I want you to see
what's happening. Hold on. Okay. So, my needle
is going through that bottom hole. But now I got to pick up another seedbead.
So, it helps if you pick up the seedbead and do the best that you can and
position it so that the whole It's a It's a little bit of a Fumbelina
move, but you'll get it. And then we're going to go through
the green bottom hole. And let me tilt so that you can see what's happening. So
now I'm through the blue, the seedbead,
and then the bottom hole of the green boomerang. And now I've got to pick up one more.
Whoops. And just try to pick them up so that they
of course it's easier when I'm not trying to do it.
Okay, we'll just we'll just keep trying.
Okay, there we go. So, we've got the seedbead. Then, we're going to carefully Don't you fall off. Okay, carefully back
up. And then we're going to go through the bottom pink hole.
    Uhoh.
It looks like I got a little piece of glass in there. So, bear with me while I try to get it out.
In fact, what I'm going to do is let me bring in a different needle.
It It's not I mean, it would be worth your time to probably test each one of
them. And did I just lose my I did, didn't I?
So, at least you can kind of see what I'm doing here. Let me scoot over a little.
I just don't want to end up poking myself,
    but it happens.
    H
Oh, I got it. All right. But I lost my seedbead. So, let's come back.
I um I don't like to hide the truth of putting things together. And sometimes I
just not sometimes I do feel that it's better that you see the faux paws than
you don't because if this happens to you while you're making your bracelet, then
you know that it's fixable, right? So, it just takes um stuff happens
and that's it. All right. So, look, we got them all the way through.
Here we go. All right. And then what we're going to do
is we got to bring the needle all the way through with all the thread.
Yeah, when you have a lot of thread, you got to be really careful because you don't want
you don't want to get it tangled like I just unfortunately did.
This just goes along with the week. I don't know what your week has been like,
but mine has been wonky. Very blessed. I'm not going to deny the blessings, but
it's been a little challenging. Marlon Brando has um had an episode and
we had to go to the vet and so I'm a little I'm probably just a little nervous about that.
So, just bear with me as I hopefully get this apart. I could see that it's
going to come apart. I just have to use both hands. So,
going live, you get it all. You get the truth. You get the wonkies. You get the
screw-ups. You get the oh nos. Oh, all the things. You're getting it today.
And this could be the reason why you don't work with so much thread. But normally I don't have a problem. I
really just think it's it's just what's happening.
And there he is. He's still alive. He's still alive.
There were a couple moments over the last week where it looked very scary. So, oh my goodness, this is just turning
into a little bit. Oh, there you go. Okay. Sometimes you just pull and you hold your breath.
Okay. Okay. Mama's back on track. So, let's get all these guys back here.
    I've got to get the
Here we go. All is well in bead world.
Okay, so we want to get these positioned.
Okay, there we go. Oh my goodness, it's always the first row and we know that.
And then I'm going to go back through.
Okay. And if it doesn't line up, sometimes what I'll do is I'll just go ahead and pull. Whoops. I'll go ahead
    and pull through. And um
then I'm going to go back through that last seedbead. It'll just be easier all by itself.
    Okay, there we go. [Laughter]
See, when you're not in person, like we used to be in person back in the day, right? And so we're doing all this stuff
online. And I just think it's good to have those moments of like, oh crap.
You can't cut. You can't stop rolling. You just got to get through it and show
the the student on the other end that it's all possible and savable. So, there
is our first section of our boomerangs. And you see how we're just using little
um little 11 O's to fill in the space. And now what I'm going to do is I'm going to grab some of the uh gemstones.
So, let's bring those over. Let's see here.
All right. So, we've got the blue tiger's eye and we've got some sunstone in this
    kit. So, they're just beautiful.
    Okay. [Music]
Brando. Okay. Oh, look it. That's so cool. I
just I love love love these big guys with the boomerangs. And
haven't done it before. I've done some of the boomerang bracelets. Like I have a lot I can show you, but never thought
about incorporating a bigger bead, especially a gemstone.
So, super pretty. So there's that. So you can see why we
had to make our warp threads wider so that we could get
the um the bigger beads in. So I think what I'm going to do on the next row
just to maybe make it like a little um little quicker is to let's see. Let's go
let's go pink. I'm gonna test these little holes though first.
Okay. So, we'll go pink and then we'll go
um do we want to do let's do let's do two pinks for giggles.
So, I just want to show you like a couple different ideas. So, we'll do two pinks
and then we can do um
we can do what do we want to do? Do we want to do two greens? I could see the holes are open there. So, again, I'm
picking them up. I'm picking them up with the points f um pointing away from
the loom. So, we got two greens. Or do I want to alternate?
Hold on. I'm changing my design mind. I want to alternate.
Hold on. Hold that thought. Okay, let's do
    let's do a pink and a green
and then a blue. And we can put
2 4 six. That's three. Okay, we'll just keep it easy peasy. We'll go back to
pink. And then what did I do after that? Green. Then we'll go to green.
And then we will pick up a blue. Okay. So, now what we're going to do is
hopefully put pretty sure two booms will fit in
here. Oh, yeah. So, we're going to put
They're a little bit wide, aren't they? Oh, they're way wide, Jules. So, we're
going to Yeah, that's They're too chunkies. Oh, bummer. Okay. I thought that, too. I thought that they would,
but they won't. Okay. So, that's not going to work.
This is a This is a working uh a working live, by the way. testing, playing,
seeing what's going to work, what's not going to work. It's always fun when we're mixing up the beads um to figure
out what will work and what won't.
So, on that note, let's see. Let's go back to picking up
I guess really is it just going to have to be the little guys? I think it's just
gonna have to be the little guys, isn't it? All right. Whatever. Um
because we can't get even a five in there. All right. So,
we're going to go back to the original game plan. And that's fine.
This is how we learn. And um so we've got seedbead, boomerang,
seed bead, boomerang, seedbead, and then we need
we need a boomerang, but we need it to be facing the right way.
And then another seedbead, right? Do I have four seed beads on here? I do.
Okay. So, let's do that. [Music]
And we're just going to pop those up. And then we're going to go back through
    the holes.
    Get that.
Um, it just said that they're having trouble uh streaming to Facebook.
Do you see that, Joan? Yeah, I see it. I was just reading it,
but it disappeared when I hit unmuted my mic. Yeah, that's odd. It's still on mine.
I wonder if it's not being shown over on Facebook.
Huh. Okay. So, that's the first part. And
then we're going to flip them up just to make sure everybody's in a good spot. And they are. And then we'll let them go
down. And then it's going to be the same thing again where we have to pick up a seedbead. And then we're going to pick
    up a boomerang. And
no, we're not. Boy, I am way off today.
When your fur child is like your like your human child.
My nerves must be a little funky. What's the matter, boo boo?
Okay. So, we've got um we've got the seedbead and then we're going to go
    through the bottoms
and we're going to pick up a seed bead and hopefully get it quickly onto the
needle. Back up a little bit. Go back through that bottom boomerang hole.
Get another seedbead. So, you're just feeding the seed beads onto the needle.
    That's the goal anyway.
Okay. And then through the bottom. And then one more seed bead.
[Music] Now, um there is instruction,
there's another whole video on pretty much just what I would refer to as the basic
um pattern, which doesn't require what I'm doing right now. This is just
totally oh my goodness, totally a different um design.
There we go. Oh my gosh. So funny. Okay, then we're going to pull through.
[Music] And once again, we're going to go
back through that bottom hole. Going back through the beads.
I mean, it's just it is a really pretty look. It's just a little bit more. You
just have to have a little bit more patience,
right, bud? And then we got to get through that last hole. Did we get through it? Yeah. Okay.
And then we're going to pull out.
Okay. Okay. And then I'm going to do one more row of the And I don't know if you've noticed, but
I'm especially with this design, like I'm constantly pushing looking. Is everything lined up? You know, do things
look straight. So, you want to do that just to make
sure. And then we're going to come under again and we'll pick up
    some tiger's eye, some sunstone,
    and the tiger's eye. [Music]
Oh, so it did end over there. That's I don't know. It had permission to run.
Who knows? Okay. And then we're going to go back
    through.
And so there's the beginning of that,
you know, layout for that particular bracelet. Okay. So, a little bit more
tedious just because we're having to take up some space, you know, with the
11 O's because we're using the 6 mm be uh gemstones.
But that's really I mean, once you get it down and once you can
um you know, get your rhythm going, it's going to be fine. you'll you'll get a
gra grip and and you'll you'll just be able to do it really quick. So, I'm
gonna bring this one in. Now, this is totally a obviously a little bit easier. Um what
do I mean by a little bit easier? You know, you're picking up the 4mm fire polish versus the tiny little seed
beads, right? So, and it's all uniformed. you're not trying to accommodate the big gemstones. I want to
get um whatever this is out of. Let's see. Remove.
I don't know what's happening. Okay, that's weird. Okay, so this is the
um finished bracelet. This is number two that I did after I completed
this one. So, I still had a lot of beads left from the kit.
And as you can see, even with two sections, like I definitely would have enough of the boomerangs
to finish probably I don't know, maybe a thinner bracelet, but I think I'd have to add
some more 4mm fire polish from my own stash. But you could always do like maybe some earrings. That would be
really cool. I haven't done earrings with the boomerangs. Maybe I should try that. That's probably a good little
project for me. Okay, so I'm going to get all of this out of the way so that I could take this bracelet off of
the um loom. So, we're going to bring this in.
Okay. And I can't see any of the comments. So, I guess Joan, you got
it because um nothing's popping up over here. All right. So, when you're taking
your bracelet off of the loom, this is so gorgeous. By the way, I wanted to show you. So, I kind of got like, oh, I
want to show them how you could just th This is where my mind was going earlier because I did it over here, but but the
warps accommodate it, right? it didn't really accommodate it over on
on the other warped loom. So, do you see how I just did literally an entire row
of boomerangs next to each other? So, I like that, too. But that takes a
lot. So, you're going to you're going to use like a lot of your boomerangs. But when I'm taking the piece off of the
loom, I like to put my hand underneath and then protect it. And then you see
how my hand kind of like flipped. And now I have my thumb on the back of
the loom and I need to get it off of the loom. So I'm going to cut
all of the warps. And what's going to happen is see the
loom expands. And you don't want that those glass beads to like bounce off of
the table. So here's our piece.
and my burner lost its its juice. So, I'm
just going to trim these down until I can get back and use my burner to
take care of those. So, I'm going to grab four and four of the warps. Right.
And then I'm just going to make just gonna make Yeah, this one is really
beautiful. So, the hemp cord's a little wonk here. I got to get it to calm down.
We're just going to make a knot.
And we want to get that as close to the beginning here, the bottom
beginning. So, I'll bring in my scissors and just like pull that.
Okay. Okay. And then sometimes if you just pull the warps individually, don't pull them too tight because you don't
want the bracelet to shift because remember all the warps are going um up
and down. So, we've got that first one dialed in. Try to get that a little more
centered. And then we're going to come over here and do the same thing. So, I'm just going to pinch those
four warps together and get them
just doing like a little knot. Okay.
And just being careful not to again pull the warps too tight so that you
get a shift in your bracelet. So, that looks good. Maybe just down a
    little bit more.
Then I'm going to turn it around because we got to do the same thing to the other side. So I'm going to bring
these four, pinch them together, and make a knot.
And this is how you would finish the other um bracelet as well.
This is actually one of my most favorite ways to warp and to finish because I
just find it to be very organic looking and um plus I love him teique the hemp
cord. It's just so nice. And so
now we have to Oh, this one. Ooh. See, like I love I love random
    little oddball design.
So cool. All right. Um, so now what we have to do, I had a button here. Let's see.
I think I think that this end is going to have to be the end for the for the
    button because
it's got shorter tails and I need to have the longer tails to
make the loop. So, I'm just pinching those guys together. This is one of our
wood buttons. Now, I didn't color this one. Um, but I still could like if I wanted
    to. So, I'll just make
I'm just going to make um like one one knot
and then I'll make two. I'm not going too too tight yet because I got to make sure
everything's going to fit. So, if I have to get out of these knots, in other words, I don't want to be like,
h, okay. So, we got that. And that's fine for now. And then we got to turn it
around because we need we need the loop. So, you'll want to put that on your
wrist. And then what I do is, you see how I've got it like pinched right here?
Because I'm eyeballing that little open area. And I'm I know pretty sure pretty
sure that the button's going to get through that. So,
I'm going to bring it over here and then just try to like do this kind of messy. Does it work? And yeah. Okay. So,
so this is going to be my area
right here. And I don't know if I can do this or
not. Let's see if we can just do this. Might be a little tight. Let's see if I
can grab everybody. Can I? Oh, yeah. Looks like I can, but I
need to make sure I have the right opening right there. So, and I still
haven't cut all those loops. Whoops. I'm kind of using them. So, I'm just going to pull ever so
carefully for a hot minute here. And then I'm going to go back and just make
sure. And yeah, that's going to go in there. Perfect. Okay. So, I can get a little bit more more taut
with this. So, I'm just pulling them. And you see how I'm pinching? So, again,
I don't want to like distort the shape of my bracelet. So, I'm holding
all of the warps with my right hand as I just kind of pull these loops
to make this a little bit more tight.
Costa Rica, that sounds so delicious. Okay,
perfect. And then we're going to put this on and put this over. Yep, that worked out
great. So, I got to go and make that a little tighter. But look at how beautiful. I'm so pleased
with this random crazy. Let's do that because I just think it makes the
bracelet so unique. And then I use little bits of gemstones
here and there, the pry night, the Sakura.
It's so cool. And then I used a lot of them right here. Those are all
gemstones. Okay. So, let's um let's go make that
tighter before it all gets out of sorts.
[Music] So, we're going to pull.
So, there we go. Just carefully pulling
Now, sometimes if I can, let me bring in the other bracelet. Sometimes if it works out, I'll feed the
tails back through the holes. And I like doing that when I want to
Whoopsie. When I want to show off the button,
especially this one. So cool. Okay, but with this one, I feel
like it's just going to be knots. I feel like we got some looseies
    here.
So, just going to get that. Going to come in.
See if I can't get another knot for giggles.
because this is getting really I don't know if I have all four strands here in my hand or not. Let's see. Do I?
There we go. That one was hiding. This is a pretty big obnoxious knob, but that's okay. I like it. I could even go
back and like sneak some um sneak some glue in there.
And I'll ever trim until I know I'm safe.
    Okay.
So, yeah, that's a big knot. We might have to take the knot down a little, but I'm
    okay with it.
    I don't know. I might leave the loops. They're kind of fun. I don't know. I go
back a lot of times after I make something and then I like make make changes. But all right, I'm going to put
it on and then Joan, do you want to throw put me back up?
Oh, I think that's me. Hold on. Sorry. I have to change cameras.
    Okay, there we go.
Okay, look at this. Let me scooch this out of the way.
Take everything down. Look at how pretty.
Oh, I really, really like this. And you know what? I bet I could wear both of them at the same time. Do you do that? I
wear like all of my bracelets sometimes at the same time because look at that.
Look at that wrist. Tell me that's not awesome sauce.
So, just from the one kit, y'all, just from the one kit, and I still have
quite a bit left. I could either or either finish the bracelet, another one,
or make some earrings or something. I mean, there's a lot of beads. I am loving this
double lit. Now, I have to find a shirt. I need a shirt. I need that cobalt blue
shirt. Oh, I have this one on upside down. I
guess it doesn't matter. The pointies were facing my wrist,
but the button is like such an important part of this bracelet, isn't it?
I love it. I love it. I love it. So cool. All
right. So, you have your instruction for the January project. Um, we've got part
one where we warped and then part two ended up being some technique ideas on
on how to add the boomerangs and then actually how to take the bra bracelet off of the loom and add the um the
button. So, we've got links that we can add to the description of the video so
you can go and watch uh watch some past um segments as well. Here are some other
examples. Okay. I mean, there's just limitless
color. The problem is that the boomerangs are really hard to
hard to find. There's all kinds of really pretty ones. I think this um I
    love this one.
    This is a go-to. I I wear this one a lot.
And this might Was this the original? This might have been the original that we did years ago.
Years and years ago. That's definitely the original. That's the original, right? That's the
    OG. Nice. Yeah.
Yeah. So cool. Oh, I'm just loving these two together, though. Like, that's You
should totally make a thin one and then a bigger one. That's way cool. And then it needs a ring. There's actually um a
video on how to do the ring, right? Yeah. Joan's like, "Yeah, you did that."
So, there's Yeah, there's a how-to video on how to use the boomerangs to make to
make a ring. So, we need to do that um with this set so that I will be complete
and then I need a shirt to match. I got to find the cobalt blue shirt to
do that with. All right, you guys. Thank you for your patience. I hope um having
having those little fauxpaw moments of your thread getting tangled and
uh you know picking up the wrong bead or not the right bead help you because when
we're physically together you know these things can be talked about and resolved. But um that's why I like the lives
because it's real. It's like if I screw up, you get to see it. You get to experience it, and we get to fix it
together. And so, I hope you um appreciate that because I do. I appreciate you so much. Um we've
got a live coming up at 5:15 over on Whatnot. John and I are going to be
featuring a lot of uh check vintage glass and uh got some buttons, not too
many left. kind of had a lot of the buttons sold last um last time, but I'm
super excited about that. There's two color waves for this month month's kit.
And yeah, a lot of stuff going on. And here he comes grumping again.
It's sad. I don't know what's wrong with him. Do you hear him? I think that's cookies.
That's a cookie. That's a cookie cry. So, he wants a cookie cry. Um, Joan has the link up right now for the whatnot.
If you when you sign up with this link, you get a $15 credit with what not. Not
with me, not with Jewel Loom. It's all whatnot is the app. Um, you do need to
put in your payment information if you think that you're going to buy something. So, that that's a thing. Like
last week, I think Sheila um a couple people were over there and they were like, "I can't bid." I'm like, "Did you
put your card in?" So, you do have to like get a customer profile. They are legit. Like, there's a couple people
here watching who come and they'll they'll tell you like it's all legitimate.
Um, whatnot. It's a very reputable business. And um, and so it's all beads
that I don't have in the shop. Um, it's all, you know, limited quantities.
A lot of it um it's well it's anywhere from go big or go home to to small. Not
a lot of small small but but some 4 millimeter some 5 millimeter. Yeah. But it's all beautiful. It's all
really delicious. We had a threehour live last week.
I was exhausted but it was so fun. So incredibly fun. Okay. I um will see you
next Thursday and I I'll look at you in the ring.
Why not? I I think that would be fun because I want to make one for myself.
So, um so I'll come back. I'll use the remaining pieces.
I'll tell you what I ended up doing here. I don't know if I'm going to take these guys off. I don't know if I'm
going to try to turn it into maybe a pendant. I guess I could do like a pendant with this because I don't want
to waste it. Um, but I'll let you know next Thursday. We'll do the ring. I'll let you know what I do with that. And I
can't wait to see what you make. I mean, come on now. So cool. Thank you
so much. I hope to see you over at the whatnot. And if not, I'll see you back here on the YouTubes next Thursday. So,
have a beautifully blessed weekend and take care of yourself and get your loom on.
