    How to Add 2 Hole Pyramid Beads and Add a Button & Beaded Loop Closure

    Adding 2 hole beads to your loom designs gives it a different look. And when you add 2 hole pyramid beads, your design has more dimension and texture. Learn from Julianna C Avelar how to use these types of beads on the Original Jewel Loom. You will find using these beads much easier than expected. In the 2nd part of this tutorial, Danielle Wickes joins Julianna to demonstrate how to add a button to this design, plus made a beaded loop closure, so you have a decorative, eyecatching closure. 

    You can use the techniques learned in the first part of this tutorial for different designs, and also use the 2nd part for all your loom bracelet and necklace projects. 

    In the first part of this tutorial, learn how to use 2 hole beads, which may have different designs on each side or, like the pyramid bead, has a raised spot on one side. You will learn the "Right Hole Technique" so you know which hole to put the needle in, when preparing to first weave it on the loom, so you have the correct side facing up in your project.     have a long conversation with our resident designer uh Danielle Wixs and

    she and I were brainstorming on the next several months. And so I'm designing the projects, but she's definitely helping

    me um tweak some things, do some things. And so we're just super stoked about all of that. the bracelet. And I'm going to

    show you the kit here in a second. Um, this particular bracelet, let me show you so you could see the button. This

    particular bracelet was actually a design. And if I back up a hair,

    um, this was a a bracelet that Danielle designed for the Jewel Loom Jewel Box back in June of 2025.

    And so last night when we were brainstorming, I was telling her that, you know, I

    wanted to add that seedbeaded loop and button

    closure into the box for September. And so next week, Danielle is going to come

    on and she will be showing us how to do that. And then and then I said,

    correctly, your pyramid will be upside down. And nobody wants an upside down pyramid, right? We want we want our

    pyramid to be right side up facing the ceiling. And there is a proper way to

    put the needle into because there's four holes. So got to put in the right one, right? So [laughter]

    in order for it to to be uh facing up to the heavens, so to speak. Um, I'm going

    One, two, three. And then I'd laid the wildfire down in the fourth groove. So,

    remember, these are the grooves on the jewel loom. These are buttons. And there

    are buttons on the back. And so you can see how I wrapped around that back button. Now, there are so many

    little knot. And I don't really pull too too tight. And what I do want to make sure though

    is that my needle and thread are over here. This is my left hand, by the way.

    bracelets, I like them to be centered in um on the loom. And usually if you get

    in between if you get in between the two holes where the metal rod is uh inserted,

    you're usually pretty good. The reason is that it's so much easier when you have more warp thread on each end. Okay.

    So now what we're going to do is we're going to take Let me get into

    the camera here. There we go. Okay. Okay. So, if I just

    move my body over. All right. So, I'm going to take the needle. I'm going back through that top

    hole. And my needle is on top of the warps.

    Okay. If your needle is not on top of the warps, what's going to happen is that the beads are going to fall off. So

    now where the needle and thread are going over towards my left and I'm going

    to pull. And remember I'm working with like two yards of wildfire. So I want to

    be really patient and just help to guide that.

    And then I'm going to pull just enough. And then I'm going to push

    those beads down so that now their holes are underneath the warps. And this is my

    left hand. Let me get it into view here. My left hand is holding the needle now.

    And my pointer on my right hand is helping to guide and to relax the beads.

    And I'm going through the bottom holes.

    So you see the needle is underneath the warps,

    right? And so we're pulling the needle and thread back to to the right side of

    Now, one little thing I do want to show you. And how amazing is that? There's our first row. And so the cool thing

    again is when you get your rhythm, you can really do that a lot quicker. So,

    you're going to end up with like a little ribbon sticking out of wildfire. And at some point it's going to be like

    no way to fix it. So just always make sure you're pulling just tight enough that the wildfire is resting evenly

    what where's that one bracelet? There was another bracelet I wanted to show you. So I love this idea where Danielle

    also took seed beads. So, you see how she's got um you know the two holes,

    get your beads to go further, what a great way to do so. You know, you could just get some 11 O's and

    it's portable and very lightweight is number one making sure you're working on some sort of a non-skid surface, right?

    But I do a lot of like it's almost like a baby. I do a lot with my hands. So, as

    I transfer that needle, I automatically put my right hand on the belly of the

    jewel loom to help secure it as I'm pulling the needle and the thread out.

    So, it's like this little dance that you will figure out, you know, what works

    and pick that up. And if you happen to have a bead that
