4:48
all right well and i just want to make sure tonight also that my air conditioning
4:53
isn't too loud is it too loud for you amber everything seems okay as far as sound goes guys yeah i can hear you well
5:00
so okay good okay um we have shaquita i don't know if i'm
5:05
saying that right and i apologize and yep and stephanie
5:11
we've got all kinds of people popping in but why don't everybody so excited so i will make
5:18
myself big and trish you can flip down okay great thank you we're gonna start with trish has a big tattoo art tutorial
5:25
tonight it's a really cool pendant she's going to be making so i want to make sure we have time to do that
5:31
um oh thank you i'm glad i said your name correctly and i'm so excited to be with
5:37
you guys tonight um hi beverly um uh vicky says all is fine with your
5:44
air conditioner trish okay good yeah seems like i don't see anybody saying
5:49
they can't hear you so uh trish is gonna share a really cool pendant that you can make with silver
5:56
silk on the silver silk loom and also show you how to take off the last project too right is that
6:02
correct yes ma'am that is for sure that's what we're getting ready here there we go
6:08
that should work all right you feeling good i'm feeling just as good as good can be
6:13
well meant ready i'm ready and remember guys we're upside
6:18
down here so i'm my belly is actually down here so that kind of gives you an idea
6:24
what's going on so this was our beautiful bracelet that we made last week
6:30
on the silver silk loom and i want to just show you quickly how to take it off and how to put your uh silver silk
6:36
clasps on and it's pretty simple all i do to take it take my project off because i did i
6:44
don't tie my silver silk on i just hook it down through the teeth and it stays there pretty well for me i just lift
6:52
so that is up and off there so you can see how nice that came out
6:57
and then this was our original one that i have made so basically at this point you're just
7:02
going to measure and for whatever your wrist is you want to give yourself
7:08
um a little bit of room for clasps like maybe an inch or so um
7:13
and for the ends so you don't end up having something that's flopping around on your wrist so i know i have about
7:20
five inches worth of work here because i've already measured it so i'm gonna make my bracelet
7:27
about six inches including the silver silk on the ends because i know that i need room for like
7:34
i said these ends and then my clasp but on this i put a pretty substantial
7:39
magnetic clasp which i really like on them so so i'm just going to drop down here guys
7:45
my measurements are down here so i'm just going to kind of see
7:50
what's going to get me around where i want to be so then i can trim
7:57
so basically i just take my silver silk i have it kind of marked where i want it to be
8:04
and i'm gonna trim there's ball chain inside of here guys so you go in between
8:10
the ball chain links and snip it's that easy it's just as easy as just cutting wire
8:17
and the same thing on this side okay and then i'm gonna put about that
8:23
approximate amount on the other side as well really simple to finish these which is another really nice benefit
8:32
of using the silver silk and nilay's um
8:37
ends and that are also beautiful in high-end and don't don't throw your pieces away guys because you can make
8:44
all kinds of little things earrings everything with these little pieces so they're great little pieces
8:49
yeah definitely so i'm just going to kind of cut this one here so i could get them about the same
8:58
vicki says um that we can't have floppy bracelet not when everything else is
9:03
floppy oh no i don't need that our
9:09
a little bit too short but we'll make it work so basically then guys all you're doing
9:15
is just taking your ends and you can see in your silver silk class this is a dub one which works
9:21
absolutely perfect for this and i use a pair of pliers i did dip my
9:26
pliers in tool magic that's what neely does for his
9:31
because i like to close those type of clasps and my ribbon clasps with my flat nose pliers so
9:40
i did that that seemed to help so i'm just gonna feed in i'm kind of gonna
9:45
like tighten up this wire around the ball ends a little bit
9:50
so it's not like sticking out so it'll go in there nice and smoothly
9:56
and then i'm just gonna lay each end in
10:01
like so and then i'm going to bring my pliers and i'm just holding it at this point
10:07
guys just to make sure i have everything where i want it you can see my end popped out there
10:13
yeah and you want to make sure your silver silk logo is up
10:21
very good point i always forget to look for that yeah so i'm just going to make sure these are
10:27
in there and then i'm just going to give it a good squeeze i'm going to kind of examine everything
10:33
again just make sure i have everything in there and then give another squeeze
10:41
and then our end is on okay this site might be a little more difficult for me only because i cut it
10:46
shorter but let's give her a go and i have my
10:52
silver silk logo is up grab
10:58
my end again making sure i have
11:03
both ends in there and i do want to go back and squeeze this because i can see i have a little bit of loose on there too
11:10
okay stephanie if you can't remember if you ordered the loom just send
11:16
jules a text or an email and show that and she'll remind you what loom you ordered
11:25
and it's as simple as that guys and you just add your clasp so pretty yeah and and the ends just make it
11:33
doesn't it it does so so pretty so there we go we have that one finished i'll
11:38
just add a little clasp to it and we'll be ready to boil it all right
11:44
and again keep your pieces it's like little pieces of gold
11:50
so today what we're going to do guys i love this that's so pretty isn't
11:56
so not to change the subject or anything guys but today we're going to make this
12:01
pendant ah love it as you can see guys it has silver silk
12:07
on either side in the middle is actually hemp you can also use one millimeter leather in the middle but we're going to
12:13
use hemp today and you need um your beads for the center
12:20
these are the 9 by 12 gem cut beads and you need some eleven notes for the side
12:26
to do your uh picot stitch and then you're gonna need some head pins and
12:33
a few more of your beads for the bottom and then i just use some ribbon crimps but you know your call guys so that is
12:41
what we're shooting for right there so uh okay so to get started guys i have my
12:49
beads laid out here i'm gonna get my lemonos out i don't quite need them yet but i'll get them out
12:54
see if i can make them go everywhere with my needle and thread of course
13:00
so the first thing we're gonna do we're gonna use our hat first the silver silk goes on second okay
13:08
what color silver silk is that that you're using this is the metallic copper which is absolutely gorgeous it is very
13:15
pretty i'm sorry upside down that's okay so but look at that goodness oh
13:22
so pretty so pretty one of my favorites
13:28
okay so what we're going to do we'll get our hemp and this is the 0.5 hemp that i'm using you could use the other you
13:34
could use the um point or one one millimeter not point one
13:41
so i'm just gonna take my hemp and i'm actually gonna tie on down here guys i'm
13:46
gonna show you this in a second onto one of these big teeth down at the bottom
13:53
put that on there and just do our regular tie on that we always do
13:59
sometimes these angles oh yeah to be able to show it on yes video and
14:06
i'm like i can whip it out when it's just me but because i have to do these angles i'm like
14:12
how do i do it my hands are like no okay so i just tied it on to one of those bottom bigger teeth guys
14:19
it works um and we're going to go i'm going to go over here kind of to the center area
14:24
because i know i want to put my silver silk on either side and if you look here we're gonna have
14:31
one two three four strands uh four strands of the
14:38
um head i'm getting used to my camera being here guys can you tell
14:43
good oh that is so pretty thank you my goodness but yeah so
14:48
we're just gonna go through every tooth i'm just gonna just um
14:54
working like we always work so i'm just going across the silver silk loom i'm going to grab one of these
15:00
teeth on the bottom just to kind of make sure everything's almost using that like my knob okay
15:07
see this the ones that stick out here on the back or you could go down here and hook either one
15:13
and then i'm just going to go in every one blue cross
15:20
i always love vicky's comments well now what she's saying no one tells you that you need to be a
15:26
contortionist to do demos no they don't they don't vicki that's not fair
15:32
i want to raise no okay
15:38
so it's just as simple as this guys whoops i skipped one you don't want to do that
15:43
you want these to be right beside each other because you need your gem cuts to fit in between them okay
15:49
all right so we have one two three four we have four strands across of our hem that's
15:56
what we want so we're just going to cut this and tie it off
16:04
on the bottom here like i did the other one
16:10
hi rose linda welcome welcome yes hi guys sorry if i'm not seeing your
16:15
comments i'm kind of that's why you got me friends doing such a good job
16:24
okay so and so are you friend oh thank you
16:31
all right so i've got that tied on and it just looks like a regular warp
16:36
with hemp so there's a couple ways you can do this guys with putting your silver silk on
16:42
and it's very simple to do um i just i'm gonna go down to the tooth
16:49
next to the tooth we started in okay and i'm just gonna put my
16:56
silver silk in there and push that down in
17:02
okay and i'm gonna run it across the same tooth on the other side
17:09
okay i always forget which way to go uh-oh because my camera's going oh
17:22
my camera i'm always like showing you back here when i need to be up here um so what i'm going to do here guys is i
17:29
brought my silver soap down and i'm just going to run it across
17:34
the bottom just straight across here and then go into the tooth beside the one that we
17:43
finished that the last hemp strand that we put on okay and then just up
17:49
and across and then hook her back on here
17:54
vicky had a great tip for us trish painter's tape helps hold uh yes
18:01
things down yeah painters tape is good for it and also i have like some little clips
18:07
that i have just like some alligator clips um that also work well
18:13
but yeah so that's basically what we're looking at here guys okay so you have summer soak and your four strands of
18:19
hemp and your silver silk and that's it all right
18:24
so i'm gonna get my hemp out of the way here i have my needle threaded tonight guys so we don't have to go through that
18:30
painfulness i'm like they know how to thread a needle i don't have to do this
18:37
oh i'm so excited you got your loom sherry can't wait to see yay
18:43
awesome so we're going to do the same thing guys we're just going to treat this silver cell because if it's just hemp on a regular original loom i mean
18:50
this is as simple as it gets here guys so i'm just going to tie on to this leftmost
18:57
i'm going to leave myself some room on the bottom because i want to be able to tie everything off
19:03
is that you're tying on the silver silk then i'm tying onto the silver soap okay and i'm just going to tie two knots like
19:10
i always do and i'm using the
19:15
beige wildfire tonight in case you're wondering the color guys which i really love
19:21
and then this one wow this hemp is like a variegated i don't know the exact name but it's a
19:26
variegated brown and also you can find on jewel's website i love it it's so pretty
19:33
and it goes so well with the copper you know but like i said guys you could even put
19:38
your leather in the middle here brown or tan leather and that would be really really pretty
19:44
so it's as simple as this guys we're going to make this all with gem
19:50
cuts okay it's basic and you can see here i have
19:55
five across because we have six lines of material here
20:01
and i just go every other and i change the row up a little bit as i go
20:06
so say if i did red tan red tan red i'm just going to go tan
20:12
red and red tan you know it just kind of gives it a little bit of
20:17
interest to use two different colors of beads you could certainly make this with one color or three three or four yeah
20:23
definitely make a rainbow what's that you could make a rainbow
20:28
you could you could so i'm just gonna pick my five beads up at one time here
20:35
i'm just gonna go back and forth we had a question from ann so glad you
20:42
could join us ann she was wondering what size silver silk you're using
20:48
um this is the capture chain and it honestly it doesn't say on here honey i
20:53
don't know if joan would be able to answer that better but um that's all the information
20:59
that i have is right here so unfortunately i can't help you with that
21:04
but you could use probably any size
21:11
uh all capture teams come in the same width okay great thank you so much joan
21:16
i knew you would know so we're doing the same thing guys i dropped my beads down and now i'm
21:23
feeding my wildfire underneath my warps i just want to get this over on
21:30
this side to make it a little easier and then i'm just going to pop my beads up
21:36
underneath here yeah get that in there it gets i have a
21:42
a little bit bigger of a hand so sometimes it takes me a minute on this loom so let me get this
21:49
get this strand out of here so we don't have there we go
21:54
well always the first row is hard no matter what yes this is true but
22:00
yes so i have one popped up through guys and i'm i'm going to treat the silver silk
22:06
just as i'm treating my hemp so i'm going up and over top of my warps
22:13
and going through each bead okay
22:19
and then out through the other side and i'm just pulling that snug
22:29
okay and there's our first row
22:36
so then i'm just going to pick up the next set which is going to start with the tan
22:44
what were you going to say amber oh i was just going to say how pretty the beads are they are
22:50
and you'll see like there's some different reds here and some different tan ones i kind of mixed together so
22:56
they may not all be exactly the same but they're in the same color family
23:02
so they will work so i'm dropping my beads down again
23:09
the opposite pattern and we're going to do one two three four five rows
23:15
but you could make this as large as you want it to be uh bonnie great question what size were
23:22
the gem cuts they are nice gem pets oh sorry go ahead if you know off the top of your head go ahead they're 9 by 12
23:28
gem cuts is what the size is on them so yeah they're really pretty i
23:36
have to say that because i've i've really enjoyed working with these
23:42
i'm almost almost out of them that's why i've enjoyed working with them i believe they're nine by six though right
23:50
opposite nine by twelve are they nine by twelve oh i believe so okay
23:56
then i put the wrong link in there or maybe not maybe they're nine by six
24:03
i always thought uh jules said 9x12 but that's all right anyway it's they're on
24:09
the website and you'll be able to find them there
24:15
okay so
24:21
doing the same thing we're going to go back to our
24:26
9x6 okay thank you yes i was getting excited making them 12.
24:32
[Laughter] double me up huh
24:37
there we go and you can see how quickly this comes together guys at least this part anyway now the
24:44
picostitch takes a little bit of time but same thing
24:50
and i've gotten questions before can i go through the silver silk you absolutely can go through the silver
24:55
soap if you don't want to go up and over it by all means but i find it easier and my
25:01
sides look nicer more even if i just go around it and wrap around it like i do the hemp
25:07
okay so now i'm going to go to my next row
25:25
come don't want to get on there there we go
25:31
yeah they are super pretty guys they're 9x6 by the way
25:41
that's all oh i could have swore that's what jules been saying but
25:47
you never know with my brain
25:54
all right so this is our fourth row
25:59
right here so we only have one more row of this to get on
26:16
and to answer the question of the size of the capture chain it looks like it's
26:21
um somewhere around three millimeters did you measure it
26:26
uh joan said she measured it once with a gem gauge oh okay cool yeah
26:33
that's good to know okay dropping the beads down feeding my
26:40
needle underneath and we're touching on that last row here we're just pushing
26:47
our gem cuts up through putting the needle through the beads over top of all the
26:54
works
27:02
all right so i'm gonna get these out of the way
27:07
um we're at the at the point where you can stop adding beads if you like that size
27:14
of pendant the one i designed that's that's what i did so now we're going to
27:20
start with our pico stitch guys and i know we've done these before but i just
27:26
thought that it really added to the sides of the piece
27:31
with doing it in the red so as you can see here i started a little higher with the pico stitch a
27:38
little higher than the bead um i think tonight i'm going to start
27:43
kind of right at the bead so i have more room to put my ribbon crimp across the
27:48
top because i fought with it a little bit with that picot being so high so
27:54
that's my advice just kind of start at where your last row of beads are
28:01
i thought oh it'll be pretty to have it going up there it is pretty but it's a little bit of a fight when you're trying to get that ribbon crimp on
28:07
okay so it's just the same as we always do now on this
28:14
first row i go out through the silver silk right where my
28:22
strand of wildfire comes through my bead okay
28:27
i can do that yes vicky this would be a gorgeous
28:32
bracelet and it would be yeah and joan thinks if we made it on the
28:37
large wisdom warrior that we could make it into a hat band oh
28:42
like oh my gosh guys that's a lot of beads but yeah
28:49
yeah that is a lot of beads because this takes a lot of beads actually but
28:55
okay so i'm just going through that silver salt because i want my deca or my pico not decoupage my pico stitch to be
29:05
right along the sides of it i don't want it hovering over the top of the um
29:10
silver soap okay so i'm just gonna do um what we usually do and guys i'm not
29:17
using the beads so much this time to go in and out of i'm using the silver
29:22
silk on the sides because i found my pico stitch didn't look as nice when
29:27
i did that like we traditionally do go from bead to bead i just am using the silver soap and
29:34
judging because it was going a little bit too wide
29:39
i like the way that they ended up being they may not won't be perfectly exact
29:44
but um that was my preference anyway so i'm just going to turn this around
29:50
right now because i'm going to be doing this side and i'm going to pick up three
29:56
11-0 seed beads
30:01
okay it shows down my needle actually i think i'm going to get a seed
30:06
seat beater and put it on for this that always seems to work better for me with the 11's grab that
30:14
me too i prefer a seed bead needle
30:21
grab yeah i always compared you know
30:27
all right grab one of these
30:36
try him
30:41
okay get that threaded [Music]
30:47
the reason i think i mean a lot of times the jewel loom needle will work on the 11's it just depends but
30:55
i find that i just have less struggle if i just use a regular old seed bead
31:00
needle for it yeah i find trouble right where the thread and the end of the needle are
31:06
sometimes yes yeah okay
31:12
so we're going to go back here guys and we're going to pick up our yes i still have them on there let's see
31:20
you never know with me okay we're going to pick up our three you just never know
31:27
forget from minute to minute i hear you and drop them down
31:32
and they went on very nicely and i'm actually kind of wishing i would
31:38
have came out a little lower so i'm going to go back
31:44
through here and that makes it nice you can just go back through and find the spot that you actually want to
31:51
use and you won't really see it because it's wound in with the silver silk
31:57
okay it hides our flaws right it really does
32:03
so i'm just going to go out like right here across the top of this instead
32:10
go through here because i don't want it to land across the silver silk we'll go back through
32:21
and come out right
32:27
above the bead here
32:32
okay now i'm happy
32:37
all right so take our three
32:43
lemon o's move them down the thread for the fifth time and
32:48
and then go back in through the silver silk to the width that you would like okay
32:58
and then just pull and that'll set those those beads very nicely on the side of your
33:04
um once you get it all untangled on the side of your silver silk okay
33:12
so then we're going to go back through right beside that
33:19
uh vicky has a question sure vicky are you going through the silver silk now or around i am going through this
33:25
for the picot stitch i am going through the silver silk i'm not utilizing the beads at this point on the the gem cuts
33:32
okay just using the silver soap to get this on because i felt like when i did it
33:37
that way it's that much nicer on the sides of it okay
33:43
so i'm just going back out through just like a traditional picot except for just using the silver silk to do our
33:50
workforce here pick up three more
34:02
and then back in and you're just going to do this down both sides
34:12
just to give it a little touch of a little something my my um
34:18
theory has always been more is more so i can't just let things be
34:24
can't be bigger go home yep that's for sure so back through the
34:29
silver soak and beside my pico stitch that i just
34:36
did
34:42
there we go sometimes you have to move your little your needle around a little bit guys to
34:48
get it like past the ball chain or on the other side of you know one of the ball chain uh balls basically
34:58
oh vicky says you could do two at a time and make some honking big ears
35:04
yeah you could that would be definitely
35:10
i'm not about wearing a home compare earrings that's for sure
35:17
okay how is the space in the picots on the
35:23
silver cell on either side of the bail um as far as the bell goes
35:31
um if i understand what you're saying these
35:36
i'm not putting picots up where we're gonna put the ribbon crimp on it guys it's because they're just gonna get
35:41
crushed in your ribbon crimp and you don't want to do that as far as spacing i'm just kind of eyeballing it keeping
35:47
them um pretty consistent in size you can kind of judge what however much
35:54
space between each one if you want to use the beads by all means it just seemed like too large of a space
36:00
for me and there wasn't enough pico down the sides i think if i'm answering that let me
36:06
know happy too i think they were asking about the balls that are inside the chain like are you
36:12
doing anything with them the balls are the balls inside the chain um when i cut
36:19
this they're going to go up into my ribbon crimp because they're going to give us some tooth to grab onto as well
36:24
as the knots from the hem you're just gonna cut it like we did for the bracelet like this
36:31
and you're gonna use a ribbon crimp on the end instead of a it's just gonna go up inside so usually
36:37
that's why i leave myself enough room so i can leave the space here for my ribbon crimp
36:45
have a little bit of room to groove and keep my picot down below the beads here down below the bead line
36:52
does that help i don't know uh uh it's wayne that's asking this
36:58
question and he um so glad you're here with us wayne um
37:06
but uh if uh i think if i'm understanding if you're using the the balls inside the chain
37:14
in spacing at all no no nope i'm not i'm eyeballing it you could
37:21
certainly do that if you're you know thanks stephanie bye honey
37:26
um if you're you know want to be more exact and precise you
37:31
could certainly use them for spacing but i'm just kind of eyeballing in here and just putting my
37:36
pico stitch where i think i want it so you're not using the the ball chain
37:42
at all it's just the outside layer of silver silk is that correct
37:48
oh well i'm going through the the wire that's around this because i can't go through the ball chain well that's
37:55
still in the center yeah and i'm not counting the ball however many balls are there to
38:02
space out my um pico either wayne said we did answer his question
38:08
okay good good i'm glad
38:14
i'll get there review which way but lose their way
38:22
all right yeah i'm just using the wires that's in the silver soap to kind of
38:29
sew through which makes it kind of really cool
38:35
because you can lay this right down the side real nice
38:43
i love how silver silk feels too oh my gosh
38:49
don't get me started it's like butter it's like butter
38:55
[Music] [Laughter]
39:00
ball chain and again guys we're just going back and forth
39:06
beside each one that you make you're coming out through putting your beads on and then going back down through this
39:12
other [Music]
39:20
well wayne we are so glad to have you yes absolutely bring your guy friends along
39:25
who like to be too yes absolutely
39:30
yes i'd love to hear of male beaters i wish my husband would do it with me
39:36
but that's never going to happen you just he's into other things
39:45
but i see a lot of couples that do that actually on youtube there's quite a few of them huh
39:51
that's good jewelry wise or just inject like stuff
39:57
what like jewelry they make jewelry together yeah how cool yeah
40:02
yeah um do you know um vaughn
40:08
um her and her husband do oh
40:15
i'm awful at names and then throw in chemo and forget
40:20
i don't even need chemo to have my brain be what it is so
40:27
struggles well enough on its own i wouldn't want to even have to think about what it would be like with chemo
40:35
wayne says that he does the beating and his wife swipes the jewelry and wears it all right that's a nice trade-off
40:42
[Laughter] sounds like a great relationship to me
40:47
great relationship i love me male beaters too melanie
40:52
they're so fun deb says it looks amazing trish oh thank
40:59
you dab i'm just gonna turn this this way now guys because i'm getting down past my
41:06
comfort zone there so i'm just going to turn around just move move the loom around as you see fit to put your picot
41:12
on as always it's always good to be able to move it
41:17
around and get it in a comfortable position [Music]
41:24
yeah i mean you really can't go wrong with the beads and the silver soap that we have here
41:32
as far as making a design but guys make it your own as i always say i have to use that special loom to use
41:40
the silver silk thread it does make it easier because
41:45
um you can get the silver soap to go down in between the teeth uh teeth of this
41:52
on the original i think you would struggle i know you would struggle um
41:59
possibly on the wisdom warriors you could do it but i think you would still have a hard time
42:05
trying to get it to stay in place but if you come up with something please let us know but i do recommend this this is a
42:11
nice loom with wide teeth that you can use for a lot of stuff especially silver silk of course but you know fibers
42:19
all kinds of stuff like that yeah uh and says that
42:24
she feels lost on the pico maybe you could hold it up to the camera a little i'm sorry here let me actually move this
42:31
down a little bit guys while i'm doing this it always seems to help you if i do that um
42:36
so basically you're going to i just came out through
42:41
the silver silk okay i just pushed my needle through the layer of the woven wire there and
42:48
okay and i'm just gonna feed on put on my three seed beads on my needle
42:53
okay and i'm gonna move them down my needle
42:59
onto my thread using my teeth because i'm holding this here
43:04
and then just a little ways over here again i said i'm eyeballing it you can be more meticulous if you would like i'm
43:10
going back through the silver silk i'm not even including the
43:16
beads in this process okay and then when you pull it what it does
43:23
is it gets your three beads to stack actually i think i put four beads on
43:28
there we don't want to do that that's not a good example hold on one second guys nobody's gonna hear this
43:34
um vicki made the comment that she used the fabric loom which has a wider
43:41
teeth yeah that would work if you have that but you can see here honey how it
43:47
there's two beads that kind of sit on top of the silver silk and one bead that sits on top of the two beads so when you
43:54
put those three on and you go through out through put the beads on and back down through it gives it like this trim
44:01
effect i hope that helps yeah i think uh one thing to think of is when we've done
44:07
pico before we went through all the beads now it's more like a hand stitch because we're just going through the
44:13
silver we're just sewing yeah basically through the silver silk you were just sewing through the silver
44:19
soap just with a straight stitch so and so now i'm going to go back through
44:24
the side where we were and you have to kind of finagle where your beads are there guys you could certainly use a
44:30
beads as i said earlier i just didn't like there wasn't with the width of the beads between them it didn't give me
44:36
enough picot i wanted it to be really roughly so so i decided to do it this way
44:44
okay uh ann said she can see it now she said thank you oh good anne i'm glad honey
44:49
and as always you can always message us if you have any questions after or anything like that for sure
44:56
okay and facebook user i'm not sure who you are but yes jules used to have a fiber
45:02
loom so if you have a fiber loom yes oh okay never mind you
45:08
three the the fiber loom works good also yes um evelyn's asking if there is a
45:14
pattern for this project i would like to turn it into a bracelet um i do not have one but i can certainly
45:21
work one up quickly for you guys if you would like and i can post it in a group
45:27
it's not a difficult uh pattern so i should probably be able to work it out pretty easy for you
45:36
and vicki has a a great point on the picot um the trick is is uh having the picot
45:43
being very close to each other so it doesn't become a loop instead right you don't want it to be a loop you want it
45:49
to look lacy okay i just want to make sure my strands aren't tangled here
45:54
i think they are okay you just pull this up you're doing a great job trish just so
46:01
you know you're at the 45 minute mark okay so what i'll end up doing guys is i'm
46:08
going to finish this one side then we'll take it off and um i will finish i can sew the picot
46:14
even once you take it off you could sew your picot in because of that convenience of that silver silk
46:20
so we'll do that and um take it off and show you how to tie it
46:26
off on one end and um put the crimps on and then
46:31
give it over to amber to show you this month's kit or this month's workshop
46:37
i have to stop calling it a kit because it's not what it is the kit for the workshop
46:43
kit for the workshop yeah i guess but i believe there's six left
46:49
the last i heard yes yes that's what i heard too honey
46:54
i'm so glad to have my buddy back with me i'm glad to be here with you
47:00
i know it's it might not be next week or whatever but i'll take it where i can
47:05
yes well next week will be my good week so hopefully i'm
47:11
i work in that project so oh yes that'll be fun one too
47:17
we're gonna make earrings next week so when these are so cool guys you wait till you see them
47:23
once i get it perfected well for more i can see if what you have so far even it's really looking cute
47:30
i like the concept a lot thanks yeah this would be a pretty bracelet it
47:38
really would be it would be attention grabbing that's for sure it makes me think of fall too
47:45
yeah but you could do it any time yeah yeah kneeling has all kinds of beautiful
47:50
colors pinks and turquoises and browns and blues and
47:56
the sky's the limit that's for sure yeah he does have some gorgeous greens of course
48:02
okay it looks like we're gonna do one more here guys and then we'll take it off
48:08
and quickly tie off all right so three more beads here
48:16
actually i'm rushing myself i didn't go back through yet guys so we want to make sure we always go back through
48:24
i'm going to turn it back this way so i can see a little better
48:32
sorry what's the matter nothing
48:41
hey something echoed thank you susan i appreciate that very much i'm glad you found the chat
48:48
girl we gotta have you in our chat
48:54
uh they are nine by six gem cut that we're using tonight whoever facebook
49:00
user is yes and the link um for everything is in the
49:06
description of this video red white and blue one for the patriotic holidays oh yes
49:14
beautiful okay so i just put my last one on here
49:20
this is our string from before and i'm just going to trim it keep it simple blends in nicely with the
49:28
um silver silk so if um
49:33
when you pull this off guys if you want to go back and put a little bit of glue on your knots that works just fine keep everything
49:40
kind of together for you and i'm just going to tie this off the pico strand for now
49:51
i hope uh that was enough pico to help everyone figure out you know what they needed to do
49:57
as i said it you can always contact us
50:04
if i have some down time this weekend i'll try to put everything together for everyone
50:13
or a pattern vicki said you could do it with silver stars on the edge that would oh my gosh
50:21
yes girl all right so trim that off
50:26
so all i'm gonna do here guys is i'm gonna cut my hem
50:32
on this side and then i should be able just to lift that all off of there okay if my needle would
50:39
get out of my so it's just as simple as trimming
50:47
your hemp and then you can just kind of push this off of your loom
50:53
see if i have to trim that one here
50:59
okay see how easily that comes off for you and then just like so okay
51:06
yeah i mean it's it's fun it's fun so on the silver silk
51:12
i want to leave a little bit of length on these but i'm going to try i'm going to tie my knots off first and it's just as simple as
51:19
tying i tie two knots on the ends of each
51:25
double knot i should say not two millimeters oh this okay two knots
51:32
you're good yeah but not two knots all right
51:41
i just want to kind of get that low enough so when i go to put my i don't want it tight tight against my bead
51:48
there because i want to have room to be able to put my um ribbon crimp on there without it
51:53
getting too close to my bead okay just leaving a little breathing room there
52:01
okay and then
52:08
i don't want to get them centered get your knots centered on there so when you have your dangle downs
52:14
technical term um they uh they're centered on your beads okay and
52:20
then i'm just gonna cut these
52:29
and again double knot
52:37
yeah i mean once you get the hang of those if you just doing the pendant you can make one up
52:43
okay now or no problem yeah yeah it's just a picot that takes time but it's
52:48
once you get the hang of that even goes pretty quick
52:57
and you can glue your knots put some gs hypo on those that's not gonna hurt anything to make sure that you have
53:05
um a nice hold there so nothing's slipping apart on you so i'm just gonna take my
53:11
regular trimmers this is my wire trimmers and i'm going to cut my silver silk i'm
53:17
going to kind of judge here i'm going to leave a little more than less so i make sure that i have enough
53:23
when i'm putting my crimson okay so i'm just trimming again between the
53:30
balls i don't even know
53:35
yeah anyway so [Laughter] same thing up here guys between the
53:42
balls of the silver silk chain
53:51
all right and um the reason i'm not using silver silk ends here is because
53:57
i don't have singles for these if i had them i probably could use them
54:02
but i decided on the top that i'm going to cut these not short first
54:09
because we're not gonna be able to get all that string up inside i'm sure this is snug okay
54:15
and we're gonna cut these strands and this would be the point that you would glue them
54:22
but you know we're just gonna show the concept
54:28
okay so across the top i'm looking here and i think okay
54:34
i want to put my i have a long bar ribbon clasp that i want to use and i can see i can cut my silver soap down so
54:42
i don't want to make it too short because i want to make sure i have enough to go up in
54:48
so you're better at first to leave more than less like i said so basically i'm
54:53
going to take the same pliers without the hemp on them to
54:59
to close up my ribbon crimp and this one can be a little more difficult
55:05
but since it's across everything but just kind of work it slowly
55:10
just kind of squeeze make sure your silver soaks in up here
55:17
and that's where i'm saying make sure that your peak goes down low enough so you can actually squeeze your
55:25
silver silk up inside there and i make sure before i t take it too tight i'm kind of putting it in the end there
55:31
and then we're gonna work over here and if you just if you don't bear down on everything at once you're better off
55:38
guys just kind of working it across to to make sure that you have everything
55:44
where you want it before you give it that final squeeze
55:50
and i have that silver silk up in there to make sure one of the balls at the
55:57
very least just have one in there but you should have a couple let you get these packs you can adjust that i think
56:03
and that was what make it makes it nice the two will slide right in there for you off the side if you don't bear down and
56:10
squeeze everything at one time so there's no salvage savage no nope
56:17
we're just hooking right on to it you could if you wanted to just put a salvage on on the loom or off the loom
56:23
you certainly could of course i'm getting battled here but
56:30
that gives you the gist go ahead i was just going to read a funny comment from our friend vicky
56:37
centered and dangle downs what was on those alligator clips trish
56:44
centered in the dangle downs all right so that's the top and then we're going to do the same thing down
56:50
here we're just going to trim and we're going to put i'll show you just on one of the summer soap what i'm going to do
56:55
i'm just going to take one of these little ribbon crimps because i like the look of
57:01
having individual it gives it a little bit more play down there
57:06
so i'm just going to take one of these little ribbon crimps on the end
57:11
i'm going to make sure again that my silver soak and my ties are all around the same
57:17
length and i think i'm going to just shorten up my shoulder soap a tad again what size uh ribbon uh crimp did you use
57:25
on the top um i don't have a measurement on that i can tell you from this that it's about
57:34
one and three quarter inch wide okay that gives you the idea on it
57:40
anyway of course when i purchased that i didn't
57:45
um keep the inserts bad like that so
57:51
i mixed up the ribbon crimp sizes all the time so yeah
57:56
so we're just going to make sure like i said that everything's kind of in the same ballpark area
58:01
put our crimp on and and i'll show you one dangle down here
58:07
guys once and goes down around
58:13
centered there for a moment i forgot it was i thought it was just me and you
58:19
yes to be a fly on the wall during the day when we chat oh my god yes for sure
58:26
sorry myself i'm just gonna put this onto the end of this oversoak give it a squeeze
58:35
make sure it's on there nice and snug okay and then just as simple as taking
58:43
a head pin like so and throw it and then
58:49
put a bead on it and i use my one step looper guys or if you want to make a simple loop or use a
58:55
wrap loop whatever works for you i just put it into my one step looper
59:03
and i did attach jump rings on the bottom of this one because i like the way that it looked
59:09
but you can certainly just attach right from your head pin that you've made
59:15
your loop that you've made my other pliers
59:20
and just attach it right onto the dangle down parts okay
59:25
uh could you have started your design with a row of eleven oh seed beads before the nine by six certainly
59:31
certainly certainly and then you could do a good three millimeter fire polish up there
59:37
would be gorgeous i'm just for look and then if you want to put the seed beads above it you making your own guys i'm
59:43
anxious to see what you come up with but you could certainly put put the seed beads there
59:48
but that kind of just gives you an idea guys and then you would finish out with your little crimps across the bottom and
59:55
finish your pico stitch and you'd be good to go just looking like this one that's awesome
1:00:01
uh you froze yes that's our finished project
1:00:07
uh one more question from vicki here um could you use your leather cord
1:00:13
um absolutely actually i was going to use leather cord tonight i didn't go ahead sorry
1:00:20
sorry my brain was not moving fast enough sorry okay sorry i leather my mouth is moving too
1:00:26
fast clam shell with loops on the end yes absolutely
1:00:33
yeah and if you did it with leather that would be really pretty to put it across the bottom you could put the silver silk
1:00:39
findings on here and then do coordinating um um
1:00:45
leather ends if you make it with leather yeah the or the clam shells
1:00:50
would work absolutely so over to you dear all right all right let me hide that
1:00:57
comment there all right so we'll real quickly here um i do our
1:01:04
unboxing of this month's creative soul uh jewel loom box that is for the
1:01:12
may uh workshop so so excited it's very pretty always
1:01:18
comes so pretty wrapped and we always get our little snack
1:01:25
and our tea and all of our goodies so let's see what goodies we have this
1:01:31
month um so this class will start next week there are six spots left so if you want to
1:01:37
sign up and at least join in on the class and then get your
1:01:42
kit afterwards that would work too so i love these triangle beads i'm so excited to do
1:01:49
another triangle bead project yes this is like a lime green or so
1:01:57
and i didn't i turned my light off because i was getting hot [Laughter]
1:02:04
let's see if i can get never turns out as pretty as in person
1:02:10
but let me see if i can get into focus there we go oh there we go now we can see the gorgeous
1:02:17
so yeah they're they're like smoky red with white lines it's just i
1:02:24
don't i don't even know what it's called it's so pretty and then
1:02:29
you get this really pretty rose button oh i love it and then some more
1:02:38
these were my favorite the last time we did it too were these the
1:02:44
