hi guys welcome in welcome in we're here with another a jewel loom
school live with amber and trish hey friends
today we're going to be doing a couple things we're going to be doing a really cool ombre loop earring that is based
off of a design that amber came up with um and then we're going to be doing the
unboxing of the creative soul box for the box that goes with the online
workshops so that'll come a little later but we're going to do a really fun earring project since it is earring
april and you're going to get to hurt my dogs all night apparently so
mario's trying but yeah you know
is what it is it's just like kids so and jules just sent out our text for our
hope you're feeling well amber she says uh today well this afternoon's a better
afternoon i should say yes sandra so i wasn't sure if i would make it but uh
i'm just going to do the unboxing at the end of the show sure sure hi george hey
choice woohoo i made it joyce says
well i could highlight myself while you flip your camera and we can keep saying hi as you okay sure how's that sound
good so how are you ladies doing how's the
weather where you are hi debra
i'm so glad you made it and you too joyce it's so fun
so fun all right trish is about ready
yes so we are gonna start with our project tonight take it away friend okay so this is
gonna be our project it's this one's still in the loom and we're going to you know put one on down here but i want to
show you this is kind of what we're going for okay and you can see the
the depth of it it's a thick a thick earring but it's really fun i decided to
do like an ombre effect on it so any i'll explain to you here with the
beads but any beads any colors will work as long as you have them in the same color family so you can do the ombre
so first we're going to go in and start doing our warping i'm just going to do it here
on a separate loom this is the original jewel loom i don't know if the light's picking it up
but you want to take your bar and put it in first into your original i'm just giving that
a little push against my belly to get my rod in and if you can't get your rod in
on the first try flip it and try again if that doesn't work then we're going to
have to take our pliers and just give it a little bend up try it again and
usually that does the trick for you so i'm just going to use white wildfire and we're gonna use
um eight does for the base so we're gonna leave one bead in between
or excuse me one space in between for the beads so first i'm gonna start out
and take my wildfire and wrap it around this knob right here
a few times and just tie it on
good and snug okay and i'm gonna at least tie it twice
to keep it nice and snug on there and it's just the regular old overhand
knot if i can get my fingers to cooperate so we're just going to give
that a good tug and we have that on there nice and tight so then what i'm going to do is i'm
going to bring the wildfire up and find one of our
um help me amber what's the name of these grooves yes thank you i'm gonna find one
of the grooves and i'm gonna take it straight across and as i'm doing that guys i'm keeping
tension with my thumb and i'm gonna find another groove across that's
approximately in the same place as the one over here okay and then i'm gonna take and put it
around the knob on the back again you can see me doing that and bring it up okay grab that again
go and then i'm just gonna skip one groove and put
our wildfire into that okay so that's skipping one groove and you always know with eight does
that's a good rule of thumb just skip one groove and they will fit in there nicely
so again i'm pulling it on grabbing it onto that that knob on the back coming
up skipping one groove always keeping it taut across
same thing skip the groove onto the knob
back up okay and i have let's see i have seven
strands i believe one two three four five six seven so i have six rows that's
how i decided to do mine so right now we're on our our fourth string so for every
every bead that you're gonna have you're gonna have one extra row so say if i'm i'm one six across i'm gonna have to
have seven strands across okay i'm gonna have to have seven lanes if you can
think of it that way basically for for our beads
so there we go skipping another groove flip it around
same thing onto that knob
and this is i mean you guys the more you um work the more you'll get used to
doing it because it it's a it takes a little technique but one nice thing with the original you
have this bar so it always will give you a little extra tension anyway
all right so we are aware so on one two three four five six seven so
this is our last one here okay
so we've got our lanes for our beads and then i'm just going to wrap it
around this knob a few times on the back and you can't see that there and i'm just going to lay it down on the front
like so and i'm pull still pulling taut on that end and i just push my thumb down
i'm not walk excuse me i'd use my teeth on that wildfire and just trim
it off and then i'm gonna go under the warps
excuse me guys i've been doing videos all day so my throat's kind of
and i'm just keeping that on there so it's nice and snug all right
pulling it tight and then just putting a knot doing a knot if you can get it
underneath there i probably should have left my string a little longer because i know that i function better with a longer
string like a longer end string and i think that um
usually for me that works better so if you want to have an easier time of tying
leave a little bit longer of a tail on your wildfire yeah and i like that too
yeah yeah it does help but anyway we can still do it so i have my string i'm gonna put it
through and just tighten up we're gonna pull that if i can get a hold of it
and a lot of times on my first one i'll just take my pliers and give it a nice
pull like so just to make sure it's good and tight and then tie it one more time just to
make sure and i checked you saw me turn this over and i'm checking my warps everything still looks decent
so one more time and then we take our bar
out and we're ready to start some beading so there we go
over top of the warps there and i'm going to grab this with my pliers since it is short that's a good
technique to use you can just take your pliers and feed it where you want to get it and then
grab it and pull it okay so there's our warps you guys can see
looks good and i'm just gonna press that back into my belly just a little bit to pop this rod out and you got to be
careful you don't want to push it too hard so that one doesn't really want to pop out easily so i flipped my loom
and i'm just going to flex it a little bit and there we go all right
so there we go a nice set of uh warps to start your earrings so that was seven strands
six beads across okay so now to get
to our one that we already started this is like i said the design we're doing i'm just going to start down here on the
loom and i'm going to take about a wingspan and a half
of wildfire and i'm just going to trim that with my
trimmers i'm going to take the end of it
and tie it on loosely onto the outside in through the outside vein on the
left-hand side just give it a couple i don't tie it too awful tight because i
want to be able to hide it later on so just a couple loose knots
that you can pull out later easily okay so i have my thread
when you spin it in half as i said this is the needle this is the end that's going
to get the needle hard to see i guess but i'm just going to take my
pliers and squeeze the end of that just so so flattens it out my friend
uh gloria always says she uses her teeth but that's not really for me so
yeah no thank you and that makes it easier for you to get that end through your jawline needle
okay yeah no it's not fun
well i love how the wildfire doesn't split on you either oh yeah it's so valuable
yes it definitely is so i have a little nub through there and i'm just going to take my pliers and utilize them again
and just pull that through my needle okay my needle uh eye
not through the actual needle and of course i gotta get tangled up a little bit that's just par for the course there
on my pliers there we go now i'm gonna get these pliers out of the way because i tend to
get caught on them okay so as far as beads go guys this is how i did it
i chose three 11 0's and three eight o's because how amber had done it she had
put the eleven o's and then put an eight in the middle which i thought really looked nice really made it pop
so i thought you know let's play on that a little bit so um i just picked out
three eight o's three eleven o's you can go to the website and or if you have you
know just find something that kind of flows into each other you know like the
greens to the blues or the pinks and the purples or you know anything that you like that works for you okay
so i'm going to start out we're going to start on the bottom here so i'm going to start out with my
uh blues i'm going to take and pour out a few
now i'm going to use this for my first
loops okay but we need to make a base first and that's going to be with edo's and i decided to use these edos as the
base so i'm going to get those out and then we're going to be ready to do our base
and then into our first set of loops okay so it's six across so simply for the
base we're just going to be using eight does like i said and
do six across so i'm just going to pick up six beads
six eight o's two three four five
six is this close enough for you guys or would you like me to pull in a little bit closer
just let me know and i'm just gonna push that down
on my wildfire and pass my needle underneath
and i just hold the strand as i'm pulling it through with my left hand i hold it with my left
hand and pull it through with my right hand and then i can kind of cup
the beads and push them up through where they need to sit
and then what i'm going to do is just take my needle and take it across the top of the of the strands here
and put it through your needles and always make sure you can see your needle as you're going across the top okay
sandy asked if you can come a little closer okay i will certainly do that sandy
and i don't know if people have seen uh we're trying to figure out jo is posting the
links for us um but some of us are seeing them and some of them are not if you can let joe know
if you see them or not okay how's that guys
so then i'm going to pick up six more and we're just going to continue this base i did
and i ended up doing 12 rows because then i could divide it into four four
and four for my color and it kind of gave you that nice gradient okay
so we're just gonna build some more rows here all right my first row always kind of moves around a little bit until i
start getting things locked in okay so let's pick up six more
some technical difficulties and then we're gonna push the
six o's up through again and if you don't have it exactly where you want it sitting on your loom just yet that's
okay because it's not you mean i mean in this area then you can kind of
move it around still a little bit i'm gonna mute you just for a second amber okay oh yeah sorry yeah
we're pulling that across there guys and we have our second row all right so
i'm going to snug that up and i want to make sure everything is nice and snug so i can see
this loop here guys it's just a little bit willy-nilly so i'm going to come up here and the loop that we used that went
and gave us our step up to the next row i'm going to put my needle down through and i'm going to give that a little pull
okay and that neatens up that side for me and then i'll go to the next loop on the
right side give that a little pull and it kind of just snugs everything up
for us okay give it a little bit more great little tip
yes it's it just works well so
let's go it's a good way to move things around to get it where you want it to
and it looks like i put an extra bead in here guys just look away right now okay
do not do as she says not as she does right right so
there we go so we have that through that's why we couldn't get it to lay down
all right make sure i didn't cut anything i should show enough there we go all right now we're going to go into the
next row okay yeah we're good
all right so now we're just gonna build up with our a dose we're gonna do 12 rows
like i said so if you're beating along with me it is six beads not seven
and i pull those a does down on my strand
and then feed the needle underneath and pull it in between my fingers
and then could we do this project on a different loom does it does it have to be on the original it does not have
to be on the original you can do them on the baby loom and also on the wisdom warriors they work great too
this is just my loom of preference for in general you know i do the bloom i like the
wisdom or very much so it's beautiful and it certainly works well
it's just i always just seem to go back to this
it just seems to be where my heart lies i guess it was the first one i started
with so i mean i've done some beautiful pieces
on the wisdom warriors as well so if you have that it works perfectly fine
i'm getting caught in my other look over here because you're doing two small earrings
it is easy to do the project on multiple different looms yes yeah and like with this i could probably
do two sets of earrings on this um just because
oh there's plenty of room there's a lot of um wildfire there for us to work with
so the only difficult would be the tying off i always find i like to
have a lot of string to tie off yes and that's the trick you want to make
sure you have enough to tie off this is why i like to use my beat my
sticky bead mat because it is i'm just thinking where is your sticky bead band
i guess i should put it down here do you have it nearby i do and it does it works really great for
that kind of stuff keeps it from flipping and flopping on you
get that out just a second i don't know why these are not tightening up for me i'm gonna play with
this a little bit and using oh look at that that would oh no
so guys this is one thing with hanging out with us okay
you will see things that happen to us so what happened was when i took my pliers in there and i cracked that bead i ended up
cutting the strand which is no big deal we can just go back and start that's why it's sliding around again yeah
so that which is good i'm glad to know that because i don't want to have a slip slidey yeah
um piece so we're just going to take these rows out real quick guys and i'm going to get
my sticky mat but yeah i mean it happens you cut the wrong string
whatever don't think that that's the end of the project you can just go ahead and quickly and luckily we didn't go very
far no so it's just going to give us more practice so
so i'm just going to it's a great learning experience it really is yeah i mean
like i said we're as human as you guys are so it helps us to teach you
when you get into those situations not just thinking that everything's perfect when you watch demonstrations
nope that's not the case you know hours the hours behind designing it and
making it trying to make it work right right yep i'm going to get that little piece off the end there
it was just kind of bugging me it looks kind of loose and we don't want to play that game
right okay so i'm just going to re-tie it back on here guys and i still have i have my first row set in there
and we're going to continue we're just going to take that strand put
it under like so and don't cut the string again
that's the lesson we learned right if you can slide it up a little you're coming off screen yeah and i'm gonna i'm
gonna put this row in and then i'm gonna get my sticky mat and we're gonna be in good shape
and if you do see my hand shaking guys i'm sorry i had a lot of coffee today
and i usually only have one cup but it was cold and
yeah leaky kind of day yeah yeah it was so let me do my sticky mat so i can show
you guys that which i love these and
they really do keep your piece in place
because nothing bugs me more is when i'm working and it's spinning in circles on me
sandy that is a great question sandy asked what loom would hold two millimeter leather cord in the grooves
the silver silk loom um yeah the silver silk loom would surely hold the two millimeter um
you could use it on the other looms but it would just sit on top yeah it would sit on top of the grooves instead so
there's my sticky mat and usually if i put this down on a tabletop
you know this there's no chance of that sliding around but since i want to be on my bead mat here i'm just going to do it
this way for today but it'll keep it from moving too awful much when i stick it
down on the table top it really works well because it adheres very well to that this is like the of course or a
yeah material that it's going to uh not show up or not stick to as well okay the
other thing i've done too is if i have all my beads laid out i'll just pick up my bead mat
like so and just fold it under okay
like so and i'm missing my beads up but that's okay you know and then you have
the sticky part but yet you still have your right your bead mat there see you guys
these are awesome if you can get your hands on them do so and i'm just going to straighten this
out here for you this big bead mat is absolutely mammoth
so it's a big one i get from etsy that i really enjoy so
we're going to pour our beads our beads right here for us
so now that you learned about the sticky mats you're going to want to run out and get
one i'm sure you can move your project to the middle a little bit more right here yep
okay i meant right to left honey not top to bottom there we go perfect okay
six and build our base and we can kind of do this a little faster now because
we have i think the gist of it for me showing you the first time but you can see now that's so much more snug
in there yep uh gib girl has a has a comment she is
uh i'm really sorry to hear you have dexterity problems in your left hand she has problem tying the thread on the
uh on the tread on the end on the end of the
jewel loom or on the end of this new silver silk loom um since we were talking about both i
think you mean the jewel loom possibly the wildfire yeah are you asking for any ideas on
maybe how to improve on that yeah that makes it a little difficult
but anything the recommendation i can give you on any part of the looming is just
leave yourself enough of a tail so you're not struggling with a short tail because i know for me with my
dexterity issues if i have a longer tail like to tie off or to put on to tie on to this left side
it makes a big difference for me uh great point bonnie yes you could
definitely use a stop bead uh for the for the um the weft is what
the warping is the going up and down the loom and then the wefting is the back and
forth not that you need to remember that no uh the first warp thread yeah uh just
like bonnie said you could use um a stop bead um let me i'll look and i'll see if i
have one that i can near me that i can show when we do the unboxing
you could also weave it through a couple times like uh like
oh yeah the bottom like if you can point to your yup just one second here
just pushing a row up through there get our base built
yes so basically like say when you're going to start you would just take your needle back and forth
like so over your um warps and just pull it through and then go back the other way
and do the same thing and that should hold it for it anchors it for you yeah
yeah it says you could possibly wrap it around a
couple times one thread and very carefully
use a thread burner to kind of attach it but you'd have to be very
delicate with that that you don't burn your warp yeah absolutely but so
yeah hopefully one of those ideas might help you what's your first name gib girl
i'm just rethreading my needle because of the example i had to pull it out so wow no problem to get it out across yeah
yeah thanks for showing that
you're welcome okay we're
joan says she weaves her thread at the beginning through the first row of beads back and forth twice to lock the beads
in place that will also keep the thread from unraveling through the beads
awesome good tip thank you jen yeah oh thanks becky i yes
i can't always remember names so i apologize well
i am right there with you and again we're on our fifth row so
we're almost halfway there you could also if you've ever done bead
weaving if you've ever created a stop bead that way
that's i think what bonnie means but there's also um uh beetle on i think has it has these
little things i don't know if if it would hold it but you'd probably have to put a stop bead
and then the little thing the um these little cl clap clasp things that
could possibly be used in place of a knot yeah they the little um springs so yeah
i can't think of what they're called but yeah bead stopper i think they actually call them yeah
let's see one two three four five six oh bead
bumpers thanks paula yeah oh deborah that's awesome you just got
your jewel loom which one did you get did you get the original
and the obsession begins all right so we're in our seventh row
almost there this goes pretty fast building the base once you get the hang of
the count you know hey shakita
trisha is making a pair of ombre earrings for us tonight if you're just joining in
and we're just building the base right now we're using eight o's and we're going to do 12 rows of six across
that's awesome you got the original debra there's so much to start yeah so much you can do with it yeah absolutely
we will be showing you lots of things you can do i just love these beads though they're
so pretty they really are i like the the base you chose
so what trish is making is what we call a base and then she will decoratify it
she'll make it all pretty our decker fat i'm gonna pull my loop here a little bit again because i
see one that's bugging me and i can't ever see those loops sticking out there bugs me
so just gonna tighten it up a little bit
and this is good learning for you too to kind of see what it happens if i get a loop that's
loose or you know i cut my string or anything like that
there we go so now you can see that's all pulled in there because i just took my needle along and
did that so we are at row eight i believe one two three four five six seven eight now
that's nine so we only have a few more yeah i love both trish and i love the
original as well it does take time to learn to work the small wisdom warrior
so just keep trying bonnie oh yeah and it's a learning curve just like
anything but it is well worth it once you figure it out you can do some beautiful pieces on both of them
oh fun becky said she has the original she has
a baby loom and she has a little ricky as well so i've not used a little ricky but i
so neither trish or i will be able to help you with your little ricky though i'm sorry i've never used one no either
i'm like what is it one two three
eleven all right we're going to get our last row put on here and if you're wondering i'm getting some beads over
here that kind of went astray so i'm trying to pick them out of my other beads so i can use them
how many row how many rows are you doing again we're doing 12 rows okay and six across crossed
all right so that's our 12th row
now guys once you get to that last row you can either choose to tie off or just keep going with your loops
what i did on this side is i just rotated my loom and just built from this way you
can also just build downwards so we can start with our green and go tortilla into our blue
you can either rotate it you just go right into it but i'm going to put these beads in here because
if i don't it'll all be a mess that's what i did too i made sure that after each color
i um picked up because i didn't want to deal with picking up
100 seed beads when i'm done but i'm just going to spin this mat around to make things a little easier myself here
okay so bonnie several of the videos i've done um i often trish and i uh she
does the original and i will do a wisdom warrior but i'm not feeling too hot
today so i'm just kind of helping out today but if you watch one of our past videos i do
give offer little tips on how to hold the tension on the
the wisdom warriors um so we're actually going to start with green guys since we i thought we were
going to do our blue and go up but change of plans we're going to go just keep our strand going here oh great idea
yeah john said the first loom she bought oh go ahead i'll let you talk no that's
okay go ahead uh was a wreck speeding loom so um she still has never taken out of the
box no offense to rick i i don't i can't say anything good or bad about his limbs
because i've never used one but oh sorry uh she once she got the original she that
was it that was it just kind of went so what i'm going to do here guys is i'm going to go
back through i need to go back through because i like to be able to work across so what i'm going to do is i'm going to
go around the end and just go underneath that last warp
and then come up between the second and third bead okay
so i'm making sure i'm underneath that warp and then i'm gonna come up
here okay between the second and the third bead thank you for bringing that up sure
okay oops sorry guys bumped it yeah sandy made a comment tension can be
tricky but practice helps yes it sure does she says she's sometimes such smart ladies don't worry i know
so so i'm gonna start guys i'm gonna pick up i'm gonna do four four and four
so if you can see up here on my loops i did four on one side then i went to the eight oh and then i did four on the
other side and that gave me the nice size loop that i like but if you want it to be a little fuller you can do you
know six and six or whatever makes you happy you know it's your prerogative so i'm gonna pick
two three and four then i'll pick up one eight o and four more elevens one
two three and four okay so this is what my needle looks like
and i'm just gonna push those beads down and as i'm coming out between the second
and the third bead now i'm going to go back to the end and i'm going to go back through
those two beads again in through the third and then out
on the other side of the fourth okay
that just takes place suzanne okay and then so now we're between the
fourth and the fifth bead and we're gonna do the same thing we're gonna pick up
four elevens if we can get them on our needle two
three and four and then a nato and four more
suzanne trish is making um an ombre earring with a base um
six across 12 down and she's adding
what uh her loops on thank you so good you can kind of see where i'm sitting
there guys i'm sitting between the fourth and the fifth bead and i want to be there because i want to be able to go back
through the third and the fourth bead and come out the sixth bead okay
that's how i work across so getting the angle here i always have to turn it a little bit sideways to get my needle
down through push it between there and then just out through okay
see deborah has a question for you trish did you go through the first two beads
when you started yes yes you go through the first two
and come out between the second and the third first okay
and then when i bring that needle back through to lock that loop in i come out between
the um fourth and the fifth okay now i'm on the other side of the six so then i'll loop over and go back
through the fifth and the sixth i don't mean to be too confusing but
you and i do loops differently well that's okay and yeah i mean that that's the that's
the beauty of it i think of it yeah two hey carmen
three and four and then one of our eights i just for me mechanically this just works for me oh
yeah i know totally get that yeah no i have to try it sometime
it just it's nice it's like you're building a little brick wall basically you know so i'm just going to turn my
turn my uh loom and i'm like angling my needle here guys i'm going through the
fifth and the sixth i don't want to catch any of those seed beads all right and i'm just going to pull
that through and then i can just start working from
the right to the left on the next row okay because that's where my
strand is so i'm gonna pop down to the next row
and i'm gonna go through one and two and come up between one and two going this way okay we're
gonna go no the direction we start it's always gonna be one this was one to six
this is one to six okay if you get what i'm saying yes that's the one whatever works for you but i'll
say between one and two because those are the first two beads i'm going yes okay so i just hopped down a row
and i came through where the second and third bead meet okay and we're going to do the
same thing i am going to put some more of these lemons out though because it's easier to
pick them up it is when you have more there definitely
there's that one does not want to go no it doesn't i'm just going to leave them
he wants to be on his own he's gonna be in this he's we're kicking him out of the playground right i guess
paula made a comment that once uh she started using a jewel loom
uh she never used her other looms either she has two originals
a baby a mini moon goddess and a large goddess wow that's awesome
okay so i have my needle built again that's my beads and so i'm up between
just between second and third now i'm gonna go and make our loop by going in the end
of our beads again through one and two and coming out between four and five
one thing i i think jules tried to do when she created the jewel loom was
make the tension make the looming as easy as and accessible to
everybody um so removing the idea of the
rolling it up to make it tighter or longer however um
yeah that's one of the things i love about it that it i had one of those you know kid
ones and i i think i used it once and i was like uh yeah no
no it doesn't cut it does it no
okay so i'm up between the fourth and the fifth and then i'm going to come back and angle my needle in and go back through
the fourth and the fifth and come out the sixth
okay you can see when i pulled that second one it snugged in the first one for us
you can see how you're building like a little yes a little loop factory
yes uh joan something happened there i'm not sure what that was but
interesting yeah it put up some weird thing i'm not
sure you know i could have put the wrong one
into you never know so i'm just adding my seed beads and my
beads on again yes susan the base is edo's
and then trish has a combination right now of eleven o's and eight o's
um where they were she chose um spring colors in an ombre
kind of pattern just to kind of change things up a
little bit all right so now we're back on the left side we're going to hop down through
that next row and oh my hands are shaking coffee coffee
won't do that again so between two and three
okay through one and two and up between two and three okay ah
so joan is posting there um there's a 15 off coupon tonight plus a
free pattern um if you uh sign up and purchase
and a free gift with purchase as well oh yes every thursday only thursdays free
gifts for purchase from from jules yep uh bonnie has a great question are you
no i'm not i'm just using the beads i'm using i'm going along the top
okay at this point bonnie she's already secured the base to
the um project so it doesn't matter if it's under or on top
no so i'm just sewing on the top mainly um
no need to complicate it you know just so you're aware of time trish
we have about 15 15 minutes left okay what we'll do then we'll just cut off
and we can i can show you how to finish the top one here i'll do a few more rows
okay and if i i also find if i go down toward
the tip when i'm trying to of the needle when i'm trying to get it between the beads it makes it a little easier to
control for me personally
are you still using the jewel loom needle versus the beading needle yes yes i am
now i mean there are going to be times if you are going to be going through multiple times of like 11 0's but the
eight will take will take quite a bit of thread yes and we're not we're only going through
the 11 0's one time so so
let's just finish this row and then we'll snip
and that kind of gives you the idea then guys how to build
it all right pretty much the rest of the project is
this yeah that's it yep that's the rest of the project and just changing colors
after four rows then you'll change into your next color and then after four rows of that into your next color and then
just tie it off like you would normally okay
so there we have three rows but you get the idea guys so let me just bring this up and show it
to you again it's really neat how it gives it just that fluffy lacy feel to it you know
yeah i really like it that was a brilliant design amber oh thanks
some people call it a magic carpet it kind of reminds me of that
i mean if you look up at this one it does look like a carpet all right so let me just move my beads
over so i don't make an absolute mess
and i'm just going to weave my needle back in here actually i'm going to take it off and then we're going to get this baby
off here i'm going to put ribbon crimps on mine guys but amber put the slides on hers but i'm just going to do the ribbon
crimps that's what i have handy so so i'm going to cut this off of the loom
and i don't know if you saw but before i flipped it over i got a good grab onto those
um warps okay i have my hand i have a good snug hold on that because i don't want
anything bouncing back and getting too crazy but as you see as we're gonna cut this and i'm holding it against my belly
kind of giving it support holding my warps and i'm just going to start
cutting it still popped a little bit but i wasn't too bad so
so i cut the earring off okay and we have plenty to work with there as far as strands
and then i'm going to cut it loose from this one
oh my poor tremors i pretty much think i've wrecked these
trimmers as well as my wire cutters oh no i've been busy
so for this guys you know we've done in the past and grab my stuff here ribbon glue
and you're going to want to tie your knots so i'm just going to take three here
and tie knots with that tie knot with that one strands through
and i'm just going to not that as close up as i can get without i lost a string
there without it um pulling too hard on the um
on the bead work you don't want to warp your bead work and if you get your knots if you get too crazy with it
i think i can just do it up closer here if you get too crazy with it it kind of
um will warp your your beads and you don't want that after
you put so much work into it so i'm just pulling this up
this needs to go through and always guys you know i make things more difficult than they really are
it's just just how i do my hands like
do things i tell them to do one thing and they do something else it's unfortunate that's his life
and i'm just gonna take these strings through here and tie this knot nice and snug up against
the work and a lot of times i'll just put my needle in there as i in through the
circle of the knot and work it down this other strand through here
and that keeps it from knotting up too high like what happened with me earlier there
i'll do that a lot of times and stick my round nose pliers even in to
work my circle down you know this one strand and that that my friends
is another reason to leave your enough room to tie because these little
strands will poke out and then you're kind of like out of luck you can't get them to line up and go
through evenly or is that just me oh no
i have that issue too no worries yeah this wildfire and i um i love wildfire
and i love the way things look with it but my hands are just like yeah what is happening
is not wanting to do what you wanted to do right okay so now i'm using my pliers to assist me once again and that worked
pretty well okay guys trying to do this quickly we're just going to ribbon ribbon crimp up one end
and then we can get to show in the box for sure all right no problem it's a big project
to try and do in one night it sure is yeah and that's kind of why i had one done because i'm like there's no way
we're gonna get all through all this but i mean you got the basic gist of it and
you know it's not a hard project it's a little time consuming but yeah well worth it
yeah that's the big thing it's not hard it's just repetitive right um sandy says
she uses an all aws yes that's awesome yep that's a good idea
and then susan has a question suzanne has a question for you sure sure do you make a salvage for the ribbon crimp
uh a selvage end yeah i make that with ribbon and that's just what i'm getting
ready to show you here if that's what you mean a salvage in i like to have something for the
the ribbon crimp to actually bite into and
she could also be referring to using the wildfire to make the salvage in
so um i believe that's what you us may be referring to suzanne so
what that is folks is that you would weave before taking it off the loom you would weave it back and forth several
times and create what trish is now creating just with
ribbon so it's a little more time consuming uses a little more uh
thread and then you put glue on it and it has the same effect as uh doing it this way
yeah so whatever works for you guys this is i like the simpler the better for me and if it works i'm not you know
i want it to just be simple so i'm just putting some glue across there
and i'm just going to fold my ribbon over we want to make uh looming as accessible
to everybody but yes that is a definitely a different way another way of doing it and you know i'm not a seed beader at
heart guys i'm a wire worker so the fact that i'm doing what i'm doing here is kind of amazing
and it's all my fault it's um yeah it is it's just blame amber so i just want to
make sure this is pressing together without my finger getting stuck to it
because it likes to do weird things yeah watch that super glue yeah that's
super glue guys i love the super glue gel but it can be pink
i think i've told this story before but i am one of my friends that um had a bottle like kind of explode on her
in her hands that was not fun oh that must have been awful
yeah that was glow oh no so if you're watching glow i'm sorry i ratted you out
[Laughter] oh did i click on i clicked sorry i clicked on susan's comment
or maybe maybe joan did that i don't know we're both in here but i did put my elbow i'm getting tired and put my elbow
on the desk oh she's getting crazy up in this place guys so we're just gonna let that dry a little bit because
he's gonna wanna go crazy if not come apart so just a couple seconds it
usually takes 60 to 90 seconds for the super glue to cure so not too bad and i'm just making sure now as i'm lifting
it there that it's not going to be stuck to the actual surface when i try to pull
this up and cut it okay yeah suzanne if you do try it let us
know how it goes absolutely absolutely so i'm just going to cut this
end right here without cutting any strings
i would be the one that would cut some strings oh i don't know about that i'm a winner with that stuff too believe
me and then i'm just going to wrap this other side around
about halfway not on my loops i loop out of there
and then we'll have i'm going to cut this about halfway across guys because then we don't have
any weird raw edges sticking out on the sides okay
now if we can get it to cooperate and stick together you know super glue usually dries like an instant when i'm i don't know when
i'm not on camera now it's like no give me 12 years and i'll dry oh my god yeah it's usually i'm like i usually get my
fingers stuck to it because it's so quick yeah must be the moist air i don't know
but it seems like it's pretty good now so i'm just going to trim this up i'm going to do about
halfway across this ribbon so if you got like quarter inch ribbon it would work
even better for you because i'm going to cut it down anyway as you can see
right to fit the ribbon again i'm just making sure this is all hooked in there well
and then i just have a regular old ribbon crimp and put it in my pliers
put it over the end make sure i'm centered
and trish before we switch cameras uh tina has joined us and has asked if they
uh can see your bracelet they said well while it's drying um sure
already crimping finish up i will certainly show you yes
i have two bracelets on actually i don't know if you've seen if you talk about the one on the left or the right but
this is the one on the right oh i love that one lots of czech glass and seed weeds i
have like these um uh real cool variegated beads underneath and i did
loops just a lot of fun right there and then this
is a basic one that i made because there's days that even if i don't feel good i still like to put a bracelet on
but this one's nice and thin made made basically with the same kind of stuff
a little bit different of a base bead here and then i just put like amethyst and so
if you want something simple you can always make that or if you wanna over the top
so i we go both ways here so yes i got lots of love on both of them so that's
it guys once you get that on you're going to do the same thing on the other end and you'll have your ombre
your ring so i'm going to go over it we're going to go over to amber now because we do want to show you
the workshop box great oh did i cut you off too soon nope i'm
done thank you okay all right i also grabbed the earrings oh yes created for the inspiration so everybody
can see um and you can add whatever dangles you want on the bottom
you know the metal looks real nice so this is what the
this is the slide so i left open a row of edo's on top and a row of
edo's on the bottom in order to put the slides on so
whatever and then this is all beads from the earth tone kit
so and then we are talking about bead stoppers so here's one
thank you thank you thank you very much so
this should have been on top but oh well always tea and a cookie yes absolutely
and wait until you see these beauties so there are some extra beads in here that
uh jules sent out just to say thank you to uh to all of you
so um there are some pearls to say thank you
and i think the brother the pearls are part of it okay so yeah just the tile beads are the gift yeah the tile beads are all
to just say she loves you and thank you because she does she adores you guys
she will be making i don't know where my hemp is but there
should be hemp in here that's probably in another box somewhere
because i believe was there him let me double check there's no there's no have there okay oh
good oh okay then i'm not missing anything nope no these beautiful beads
these i i have video pictures do not do justice to these things they're two
holes and this picas like
they call it picasso kind of or travertine i get those too confused if anybody can
pick those apart and tell me the difference i'd appreciate it and then there's
sexagon is there six one two three four i'm sorry yeah
no i don't know uh octagon the beads are octagon shape thank good job
okay edit that word out that didn't sound good so there's a beautiful
turquoise this like it's like a burnt umber almost
uh orangey red and then um what would you like a tannish
just beautiful czech glass and then czech glass pearls and wait until you see the necklace that jewel a knot
necklace bracelet that jules has um do we know if there's any kits left
um i'm not sure uh what she's doing with that she hasn't mentioned that there was any left but
you can always if you're interested contact jules and she can hook you up if he does have availability
sorry i'm looking down i was just going to let you know your face is off i'm cleaning up beads and talking blah
blah all right let me put my hair back back in the car
there we go yeah so guys thank you it was so fun as always i hope you learned
